Wrong an extension of stay based on marriage or retirement can be obtained. As far as i understand the OA returns to a non O when applying for an extension but this is where the confusion begins re health insurance. I think the new rules are only meant to apply when obtaining a new visa outside the country.

The problem is the io's interpretation of the upcoming change hence the original post of my friends visit to NK immigration for clarification before applying for his new extension again next month

The guy who posted on Facebook about his dealings with NK immigration must need insurance as he might have dementia he might have an overstay. He has two O/A’s over 7 years residency so with extensions it might give him a bit over 4 years stay. Does he really know what visa he is on?  His overseas visa sounds O/A then he could not possibly stay 7 years on 2 visas.

Did he really ask the right questions?

Did the IO really understand him.?

Or is it a bit of bull sheet by a stirrer?

Brer can you read ? Why is it not possible to stay here 7 years using 2 OA visas plus extensions ? You are making yourself sound like a fool.........and no he doesn't have dementia and knows exactly which visa he entered on and has previously obtained 1 year extensions based on retirement

As with most 2nd-3rd hand information, you have no idea what question was asked, the context, was it understood etc. There is a high probability the question or the answer was misunderstood.

His post clearly states what questions were asked. Not second hand information , he is a friend of mine who is intelligent and not short of money. ...... Also at the end of the day it doesn't appear to matter what the official rules are if the IO says insurance needed and you don't have it then no extension

Yes, and there will be more. I didn't start any of them. Probably I have posted in them. Mods will be along closing them down soon in an attempt to focus comment. Like the last TM30 plague we had.

This thread isn't just speculation, it is someone who actually went into immigration as his extension is due just after the 31st and was told no health insurance then no extension

You will not need to do one in Udon since it will be the hotels responsibility to do it.

Not sure whether immigration in Pattaya will want a TM30 form or not.

At some offices the hotel doing a report and you leaving and re entering the county would cause you to do a new TM30 form.

At Nong khai i have been told not to do tm30 report unless i have been outside the country

Where does it say anywhere that a multiple entry tourist visa is no longer available at the London embassy.

It only mentions multiple entry non-o visas.

Would this also mean anyone arriving visa exempt or tv and planning a 1900 baht 30 day extension now have the added expense of having to pay for a change of return flight details ?

  7. Sorry to bore everyone with the ongoing saga but after a previous post i made on this topic i had many replies saying there will be no checks on financial status at 90 reports for a retirement extension. If this is the case ( for those depositing 800 k ) i can only assume you would be refused the following year for a new extension if your funds dropped below the required minimum.

Ok what happens if annually you open a new bank ac with 800 k 2 months before new renewal and close and destroy existing bank ac ?

People posting here have severe comprehension problems. Did any of the order says anything about 90-day report and proving your fund during 90-day report? If it was that simple, people will do a border run and avoid 90-day report altogether.

Big jokes' minions are patrolling the streets. They will check you at random check points and demand to see your passport and bank book. you must carry your bank book all the time. If you don't, they will arrest you and send you to Thai gulag.

So what your saying is for 12 months when you have your new extension there will be no financial checks , however if you have dropped below the requirements you will be refused the following year ?

Then the following year just open a new bank ac with required amount and start again !

How many times do I have to state that there is not going to be a requirement to show a bank book when you do your 90 day reports.

That was just a rumor started from a news report by a radio station.

With 1 million new motor bikes plus all the new cars bought every year the death doll will only increase and a lot of unlicensed riders and drivers with alchahol and speeding the main causes .

Apparently its bad brakes that are fitted to the latest models by the manufacturers , there's nothing wrong with Thai road competence !
