  1. Getting built in navigation for our Civic was the worst ฿100K I ever spent. The hardware is crap, takes forever before it’s ready and has almost no poi’s.

I can sit it the the parking lot of a 10 year old McDonalds in Ubon and search for McDonald’s and will tell me the closest one is in Bangkok.

Any idea which models or years will support Apple CarPlay?

That's why you always get 3 or 4 together and never solo. If one drops the bike it needs all of them to get it back upright. I can admit similar for me when I had my Goldwing. ??.

Don't know if truth or myth but someone told me once that in Japan picking up the bike from its side was part of the test to get a big bike licence!!!!

That was part of my training. You face away from the bike, squat down and lift with your legs. I can and have picked up a 300kg Harley.

I was out riding one day and it started to snow, I was 200meters from my driveway going 5kph and it slipped out from under me. Two drivers stopped and got out to help but I waved them off and said “I’ve got it”. Physics.

  3. Good idea. I’ve been riding big bikes since 1973 but when I moved to Europe I still had to take another 20 hours of instruction, a theory test, a practical test on exceptional maneuvers and a one hour road test.

I doubt the bar will be as high in Thailand but any extra training will help.

Making riders start off on a smaller bike first is another good idea.

You’re not going to last long if you jump from a Honda Click to a Hayabusa that will do 300 kph. Right now the license is the same.

Is that the only word you know, nothing surprises me any more lol

Maybe he’s just incredulous that someone would suggest she succumbed to a water-born infection, that has never killed anyone within 24 hours, right after she was bitten by a centipede where there are documented cases of that happening. Seems more likely she had a severe allergic reaction and died from anaphylaxis.

Personally, I would have asked. <deleted>?

  5. Another great idea.

These are outlawed in many states in the US after they found that they increased the number of accidents rather than reduced them.

People were so afraid of getting a ticket that they’d lock up theirs brakes when the light turned yellow, get rear ended and then pushed out into the intersection to maybe be hit by another car.

In Minnesota, the state even ended up refunding the money people paid for tickets. T

RIP, served his country with distinction I imagine and it comes to this, could it be stress related from his job? Who knows, probably never will.  Gotta feel very sorry for his wife too.

Where did you read about his military service?

Many pilots are ex military but the article said “pilot from the US”, not “pilot for the US (military).

    Could have flown for Delta.

This is a genuine question I am not baiting you

Who or what is it that responds to shootings and gun accidents in the US with thoughts and prayers

Every time there’s been a mass shooting Trump has Tweeted “thoughts and prayers”. Newscasters, especially from conservative outlets such as FOX news say something to the effect that they’re sending thoughts and prayers or suggesting their viewers should.

Every thread on Facebook about a mass shooting invariably includes people who write “sending thoughts and prayers”.

Check your science before you post nonsense advice.  Alcohol does not contain purines.  Some specific alcoholic drinks (most notably beer) do contain purines, though very little.  The problem associated with drinking alcohol is more to do with dehydration than with the purine content.

Are you complaining because I didn’t add a comma?

I wrote “and alcohol”. I didn’t say alcohol contains purines.

Do people know that Mechical Hash have had the THC removed, so you wont get high on it .........

    That’s not correct.

There is CBD oil that’s extracted from hemp which contains less that 0,3%. THC that’s used as an anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, antiemetic, anxiolytic and

    antipsychotic agent.

CBD is being prescribed already by some doctors in Thailand and is technically not illegal because the THC level is below the legal threshold set to distinguish cannabis from hemp.

The federal  laws in the US are concerned with the source of the material so if it comes from cannabis indica or cannabis sativa or ruderalis, it’s illegal. In Thailand it’s the amount of THC that determines it. Remember, OTOP stores in Chaing Rai and Chaing Mai sell hemp handcrafts made by locals.

Then there are full spectrum extracts of cannabis such as Rick Simpson oil that is used to treat cancer, stop seizures and a variety of other medical conditions .

Then there are pharmaceutical synthetic preparations such as Dronabinol (marketed as Marinol and Syndros) and the natural cannabis plant derivative Nabiximol from GW Pharmaceutical marketed for the treatment of MS.

In the US, Canada, the Netherlands and other countries you can get a prescription for Cannabis flowers (buds).

Beyond that, some dispensaries also sell full spectrum extracts that contain up to 90% THC.

It’s going to depend on the final wording of the bill exactly what’s allowed but they’re not debating legalizing non-psychoactive CBD oil because that’s already available.
