Let's not forget this was no natural tragedy. The elephants did not go to the cliffs willingly and were smart enough to never go there on their own. They were deliberately herded by park rangers and forced to this dangerous point where they were scared and died. Why is no one talking about this?
Where did you hear that nonsense? It there a Thai version of FOX news?

I had to hand over the paper with my passport when I flew into HCMC last week.
I would definitely pay extra for the fast track. I waited at least an hour waiting for the visa and immigration line and about the same length of time when I left.

The TM30 is the nuisance, and I have absolutely no optimism the Thai immigration department will be able to plan, design, create, trial etc etc etc a working app. They don't make the app, their cronies do. All created to benefit certain parties. Why would they scrap something bringing millions annually.
Isn’t it a bit cynical to ascribe profit motives to everything done in Thailand? Greed and corruption aren’t unique to Thailand either.
I got a national ID card and paid less than it cost to make it.
It costs about €3000 to get a drivers license in the Netherlands including the mandatory drivers school training. It the US it’s $50-100+ just for the fee Here I paid €17.
So some friend or relative of a politician makes a few grand writing an app, same thing happens in every country I’ve lived.

Other than tuktuk drivers and a couple boner pill vendors who can get you weed, I’ve never seen any drug dealers on Sukhumvit.

Not quite. Every day is 2 words not one.
Notice how his hands are covering his crotch, probably got a damp patch there, embarrasing when you're wearing jeans.
Another example of being too stubborn to ask an English speaker to proofread some text before they spend ฿100K on a sign.

I think it’s because the sign was too small to fit “Jesus may save but Thai lady small small, yum yum number one good, no good no pay money"

Tinctures are available by prescription at at least one government hospital in Bangkok and at least one private clinic.
The one I went to was Sawasdee Clinic just south of Don Mueang airport.

Thai boxer obviously if it would’ve been a farang, a dozen Thai bystanders would’ve climbed on top of him and best the sh*t out of him no matter who was at fault.

No, it’s going to catch someone who’s 90% of the way through the intersection that they should have easily been able to get through but couldn’t because some idiot in front of them did something stupid to make them stop, like making a right turn in front of oncoming traffic.

They’ve closed down a few Thai-ran vaporizer operations recently. It cuts into the profits from the government-owned tobacco company.

I had to stay overnight in Bangkok because no flight could get me there in time for my appointment.
I showed up as having stayed in another province in the Ubon immigration system.
The woman man said I owed a fine because I was gone for over 24 hours. She walked me over to the sign that says “...over 24 hours”. I explained I was gone 15 hours, she pointed at the sign again. Then said it was my responsibility to prove I wasn’t gone more than 24 hours.

The law says if you don’t have a Thai license you are required to present an International drivers license( actually a translation of your home license info) and the drivers license from your country or they can give you a ticket.
I think you only have 90 days after you take up residence here before you have to get a Thai license but that’s rarely enforced.
If you live here why don’t you just get a Thai drivers license? It is cheap and simple. You just show them a copy of yours take an eye test color test reaction test and pay a small fee

Less than eight months from the decision to make medical cannabis legal to being able to produce even 5000 bottles of tincture is better than any western country has been able to accomplish. I think the Thai government deserves credit for this.
They’ve never grown cannabis indoors in a large scale before and had to start over once and then there were problems that limited the yield from the second crop.
Operation might’ve gone more smoothly if they had invited out side consultants in but they’re concerned that the industry is going to be taken over by foreign interests and want to protect the jobs in the industry for Thai people.
When they knew they were going to have a shortfall somebody had the strange idea to use confiscated black-market cannabis, which I said here months ago that was not going to be usable because of mold and fungus pesticides herbicides other contamination and adulterants, and that’s exactly what happened.
I think they’re on track for their production to keep up with demand after their next crops are harvested.

Raise it. The only difference will be less money collected by the police for speeding tickets.
On a brand new section, absolutely straight section of highway between Ubon and Yasothon that’s better suited for high speeds than some parts of the German Autobahn, police with radar were raking in over ฿10,000 an hour issuing tickets for people driving 100 in a 90.
It’s usually newer, big cars, trucks and those <deleted> silver vans that drive fast. The 20+ year old rolling pieces of crap with their original brake shoes usually don’t. As long as they stay in the left lane, not a problem.

Misleading title and article.
Somchai can’t just throw seeds in the backyard but hundreds if not thousands of people have permission (in the form of an amnesty letter from the government to possess and grow. The enrollment for the program ran from Feb 15 to May 15.)
In order to get a prescription (for extract, capsules or balm) go to your nearest government hospital. There is already one hospital per province that has doctors that are certified to prescribe and a supply in their pharmacy and by August there is supposed to be one per Amphoe.
There weren’t any in Ubon a few months ago so I got mine at Sawasadee Clinic in Bangkok just south of Don Muang airport.

Section 37 = form TM28 not TM30
Foreigners who entered Thailand under section 34, this is probably everybody here, are exempt from this 24 hours reporting when going to another province under section 37.
The author should understand the laws before making a petition about them.
Could you explain section 37 or give a link? When I look it up all I get is
“The domicile of a natural person is the place where he has his principal residence.”
I think I filed a TM28 once, when I moved into my house. Every time I return the Ubon immigration fills out a TM30 for me.
Last time I did 90 day reporting there they said my wife (me) owed ฿2000 because I was out of the province for 16 hours and she didn’t submit a TM30.
I’m here on an extension of a 1 year non-O and I’m not one of the most everyone here you mentioned.

plastic bag over his head - can somebody kill himself like this?????
It’s one of the most common ways. People usually take an overdose of sedatives and once they’re drowsy they’ll tie a bag over their head.
Based on the fact that absolutely nothing was mentioned that would suggest foul play , I’ll wait for more details before I automatically assume what looks like suicide is actually murder.
Expat bar stool pilots love to add their “expert” opinion that every elderly farang who died here was murdered. Every 190 cm tall drunk Brit who falls off a balcony was pushed.
I’m 193, my center of gravity is about 10 cm higher than the old, low hotel balconies. A couple times I’ve checked into a hotel, leaned against the balcony and almost fell over.
Some terminally ill retiree in chronic pain decides to kill themselves rather that suffer and a dozen armchair quarterbacks feel the need to declare he was murdered by some gold-digging wife he’d been married to for 20 years.

I’m pretty sure his research consisted entirely of watching the movie “Reefer Madness” and a chat with someone in the pharmaceutical industry.
None of the “facts” he mentioned have any basis in reality.
Every country and state that has legalized or decriminalized has lower incidence of use by adolescents.
The gateway myth has been debunked by multiple studies.
The biggest cost associated with cannabis use is law enforcement and legal expenses paid by the users who are arrested.
If they really cared about health problems associated with smoking they should get rid of the prohibition of vaporizers that only exist to protect the country’s revenue stream they have from selling tobacco, something they have a monopoly on.

Facebook Thailand launches fake news checker
in Thailand News Headlines
Posted
From what I’ve seen it only flags blatantly false articles, lies, fabrications and fake Photoshop jobs.
I like having some fact-checking done to let me know idle a story is dubious so I can check it out myself if I care about it.
I’ve yet to see a false positive and everything flagged as a lie seemed to be a lie.
You can always cancel your FB account if you don’t like seeing both sides of the story.
