  1. This is scary games. try to advice your friend to be friendly with that guy again, maybe buy some materials and keep the relationship as is..and gradually decrease his orders... and stop at all soon...but for the meantime he should very careful secondly, we are foreigner, its too hard for us to have an argument nor disagreement with the locals. good luck..

  2. i can only compare with what i see among the hundreds of thai workers i see here in relation to what i read about there in thailand (anthropologists view point); most behaviour people describe in their posts can have the word thailand yanked out and subsituted with other country names etc (thai girls u mean women dont u? etc) ; comparison is the best way to learn about other cultures and sub cultures... i work with 10-13 thai guys from issan for more then three years with two good friends (one now foreign worker in states, one works directly with me... i think that writing about kiwi sports, medical problems in general, women (men) in general are general items with a slightly thai touch (personality adn culture differences)... so i compare and try to give a althernative perspective... every one is complaining about 'thai' manners or lack, etc... thats a very ethnocentric but ex pat view point (like i say, here also people sit around and complain about how much better in south africa etc, )...

the point being that if u all want to sit around and complain or discuss same same everyday, then it quickly gets boring.... i mean: how much money should i give my thai girl? my thai girl dumped me?  (read: my brazilian girl, swedish volunteer girl ,etc)... the things that ARE different are exactly these small things: food, toilet culture, relation with parents etc and comparing to other places, not just where u are at, or where u directly came from (read: new zealand, australia, etc)

besides the fact that it seems to me that u all ought to be a bit more aware of the fact that some of u at least have neighbhors, friends, relatives (mostly issaan and north of course) who work here, and maybe i even know them (small world after all), and i make an effort to speak their language, and help their (usually ) idiot bosses to understand them and see them as people and not as chattel to be used abused and thrown out and if it wasnt for thai visa, i wouldnt understand so much about their way of thinking and feeling and why sometimes they do what they do which causes so much problems between employer and employee and as bannork knows, if u think that the thai interpreters here from bangkok give a flying <deleted>.., then u are wrong...

and its also nice i think to learn about other ways in other countries besides the anglo/saxon types since we are also a bit third world, unsanitary, unorganized, etc etc... which puts your'll complaints in some perspective i should think.....

i am considering moving in the way future (depending on a particular person though due to cultural and monetary problems it probably will not be so as he is supporting a massive amount of family and i will never be able to help him )  and u all assume an awful lot about background so for u to understand that i come from a totally different way of living (no money, never will have, etc etc etc) i feel a need to expain more in depth....

    no offense of course

if u dont like my posts so i;ll back off, too bad since u lack a group of women to offset the expat men complaints and i have a different and agricultural background than most, etc... dont like dont read

    Nice post Bina :o

  3. hey.. guys why you don't try a new beer its "Red Horse Beer" 6.5% alcohol content at 34 baht available at Family Mart or Tesco Lutos nationwide. :D   I tried this beer already ..not bad very smooth.  :D

The fact it is a Philippine beer has nothing to do with your recommendation, right? :o:D

Just kidding... it IS a good beer and my preferred beer in the 1980's (it's only "new" to Thailand) when I drank it in the Philippines. Have to say I preferred the recipe for the beer there where it's 11% alcohol. :D:D

Still though, the 6.9% (not 6.5%) content beer here is a completely acceptable beer. Another good beer available here from the San Miguel folks in the Philippines is Blue Ice. It's no small wonder that San Miguel is the biggest corporation in the Philippines. :D

yeah they don't give a good <deleted> on me :D oppss.... sorry for wrong info about the alcohol content :D.

  4. Geography Of A Woman

    *  Between 18 and 22, a woman is like Africa, half discovered, half  wild, naturally beautiful with fertile soil.

    *  Between 23 and 30, a woman is like America, well developed and open  to trade, especially for someone with cash.

    *  Between 31 and 35, a woman is like India, very hot, relaxed and  convinced of her own beauty.

    *  Between 36 and 40, a woman is like France, gently aging, but still warm and a desirable place to visit.

    *  Between 41 and 50, a woman is like Great Britain, with a glorious and all conquering past.

    *  Between 51 and 60, a woman is like Yugoslavia, lost the war and  haunted by past mistakes.

    *  Between 61 and 70, a woman is like Russia, very wide and borders are now unpatrolled.

    *  After 70, she becomes Tibet.  Wildly beautiful, with a mysterious past and the wisdom of the ages ... only those with an adventurous spirit

and a thirst for spiritual knowledge visit there.

                                Geography Of Men

    *  Between 1 and 70, a man is like Iraq - ruled by a pr*ck.

  5. ....... the best thing you can do is to leave Thailand and go back to your own country.......

Why do some people on this board assume that the only choices are Thailand, or going "back home"? Plenty of other places in the world.

oopppsss... sorry folks I forgot to say its an option to leave thailand then go somewhere else and look for better place :o

  6. Based on the post and replies in this forum, the best thing you can do is to leave Thailand and go back to your own country if you are not satisfied with lifestyle, culture and so on. Co'z even you post 1 million bad nor good comments in here, it doesn't make any sense.

Take note: "Clean your own backyards first before cleaning others" even your own country you still have complaints, isn't it? :o Human are actually like that "No Happines"

Sorry for that and don't be upset! :D, I found a great deal to works and stay here. :D

  7. I have just read another story in yesterdays Sunday Nation about a Australian runing in China to raise money for a Thai charity, thats all very good but as this country has as its Prime Minister one of the richest people and a government composed of the nations wealthiest people, why are they not doing more to end poverty in this country. I have no problem with charity work but more Thais must start lobbying the govenment to end this inequality.

They already have one of the more progressive tax systems. It's not the fault of government if people squander it on mobile phones and SUVs they can't afford. There's no shortage of enterprising Thais who work hard, work smart, and take the initiative to to lift themselves out of poverty. Beats sitting around waiting for the government to do it for you.

    Nice post CDNVIC :o,

  8. Incidentally, let me add this.  One of the issues with guys who want to hook up with a Thai woman is distance.  You can send them as much money as you want, but Thai women just don't like being alone - it really is a foreign concept to them.  This is a BIG reason many farang / Thai relationships go bad.  You need to either move to Thailand or move her to the West QUICKLY!"

:D:o it is wrong to adress "You can send them as much money as you want, but Thai women just don't like being alone". STICKMAN should say "some of the thai woman" because not all of them got the same ideas as mention.

if "thai's got those negative behaviours, culture, lifestyle so and so" then, let it run..let them leave alone, so what for all of us here? we should remember that "nobody is perfect" is there anybody perfect in this forum? if so, then "I will claim my self god" :D:D

  9. this may sound aload of bull to some members but I really believe that I have been cursed, over the last 2 years I have lost almost everything in Thailand and now problems with Family etc in Europe...NO not to bargirls, but thro being ripped off by numorous people mostly farang!.

Anything I've touched has gone terribly wrong, not only business or money wise.

Prior to this I have been very succesful in Thailand.

I went to a kind of Curse removal by a elderly Monk 3 months ago,He told me that yes I did have something around me and I must return 7 days later with numorous small items of food and drink, and that he would make an offering to help remove the said curse. This i did and as such nothing is much better.

Does anyone have experience with similar situations in Thailand, I believe Surin is the place for bad curses to be removed, any imput would be very well recieved, as I am banging my head against a wall.

Any Idea where is the best place to find genuine Amulats,on Samui

I think its all about if you believe it or not! The more you think you are cursed the more anytime anything goes wrong you can blame it on "the curse" stop believing it and i am sure it will end!

yeah..you better beleive to yourself. :o

  10. I'm came from the humble Islands of Philippines. Hope that you guys able to visit the Islands sometimes

Spent a month or so on some Islands near Cebu - was owned by a friend (Fillipino) - it was called something like Balbegon. It about the only inhabbited island that does not allow dynamite fishing, so it still has coral, whit sand, beautiful fish and tons of cocnut trees. Got hit by a monsoon while sleeping on the beach with the Fillipino girl I was with (daughter of the Island owner). I loved it - truly idealic. :D The owner, my friend, died after a stroke about 10 years ago now - I believe its all a holiday resort now :o

Oh, I'm a Londonner by birth, but brought up in Kent - Garden of England.

that's great.. you are still welcome! :D .. come and see around sometimes. my sympathy for your lost friend. :D
