Report Woman Rescues Dog Brutally Attacked for Urinating on Car
jcmj replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
At least someone stood up for the dog. Most Thais I see are trying to run them over, beat them with a stick while driving, or kicking them. Sure the Sois are loaded with dogs, but they need to find a humane way to solve this issue. Been going on for years.- 38 replies

Report Failing to Yield to Emergency Vehicles Could Lead to Severe Penalties
jcmj replied to Georgealbert's topic in Thailand News
It all stopped with the headline that it May change. These idiots need to learn how to drive and when to pull over. If they don’t have that common sense then fine heavily, lock them up, and make them pay for the dead’s funeral expenses. Who knows if it was 100% their fault, but we do know they had a part in it. Enough being so easy on those who break the laws. Thai or Foreign should both be held accountable. -
Report Pattaya Officials Crack Down on Sidewalk Encroachments
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Now they need to work on getting the motorbikes off of the sidewalks especially in Jomtien Beach 2nd road. I almost got run over by 2 last night while walking to my care after dinner. They are crazy and just lazy. Anyway keep up with what you’re doing and maybe get a few more out of the office to patrol the sidewalks. Not very difficult to do. Fine them 5,000 baht and maybe we’ll see the numbers lowering. -
Report Thailand to Introduce Flexible Dress Code for School Scout Uniforms
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I remember my son had a different outfit every day of the week except Saturday, then he could were to normal attire. It’s not cheap to keep this up especially for the Thai families and it’s hard for anyone to remember what they wear what day. I was one confused dad. Luckily my children knew what they had to wear. Of course getting rid of the military haircut was also a good thing. My son let his get 1/2 inch too long and he got his knuckles whacked. And the teacher will never forget who his dad is and what would happen to him if he did it again. I guess considering many teachers don’t know how to teach themselves, they just look for the easy catch of hair and uniforms. They need much better teachers and less room enforcers. -

Report Tourist Chaos in Thailand: Drunken Stunt Sparks Online Outrage
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
The netizens should be more pissed off at the police force for not doing their jobs, until a complaint. They also should be upset that they get a slap on the hand and a small fine (which the Thais get), when they should make it a point for all foreigners who do unlawful acts to be arrested and deported or at least a big fine for first offense and then deportation if they muck up again on lighter issues. Time to stop blaming the tourists and start blaming you protectors and law makers. -
Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailand’s Tourist Charm
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I doubt they will open their eyes and see the real issues and try to fix them. Instead they will send more people into different countries to promote Thailand. They just don’t see what’s in front of their faces. -
Report Thailand’s Emergency Alert System Goes Live in Major Test
jcmj replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They are far from cutting edge if they can’t reach you when you’re connected to your home WiFi. Why don’t they just go to the countries that have done it successfully and just do the same. Amber Alert just one simple example. -
Travel Thailand Launches E-Ticket System in Marine Parks to Boost Revenue
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Of course they will give this a shot and it would be nice if they actually spent the money as spoken about. I imagine if they could get more foreigners to buy a ticket their income would at least triple, or they could make it the same price and get more tourists doing this. That’s even a small figure as many places charge much more than triple for the price of a foreigner. Good luck. You got some work to do. -

Report Aussie Tourist Arrested for Reckless Stunts on Phuket Road
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Probably only a slap on the wrist and a small fine. If they really want people to stop doing this give a hefty fine and a boot out of the country. For Thais they can get a small stint in jail alongside the fine. Everyone needs to follow the laws, but don’t because there’s very little chance of being caught and punished harshly. Cops do your jobs. -
Report Thailand Faces Uphill Battle Against China's Tax-Free Shopping
jcmj replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
They have already lost their appeal to many tourists due to many different factors. I’m not going to list them but they know what they are and need to resolve those issues before they even try to get back some of the tourists. They have been in this game a long time and many years without competition. Now Thailand is losing to rivals on all sides offering new experiences and opportunities. Time to clean up the mess and when you get your ducks in a row you can try again. -
Is my power of attorney needed, in Thai court, dead father?
jcmj replied to Lightangel000's topic in General Topics
Also the lawyer may have thought there were no children and was trying to make a buck. Too many questions. Do you have the Will? Were you stated as the executor of the Will. Do you have access to his titles? Unfortunately I agree with the guys above. If you are in Thailand then you best get some help asap. Also as far as I know, a Will in Europe doesn’t affect his property in Thailand, nor does his Thai Will cover anything he owned in Europe. Best of luck. This sounds like a tough one. -
Report Drunk Tourist's Nude Stroll Shocks Phuket Locals and Sparks Debate
jcmj replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Just have to face the facts that the young, dumb and stupid stage is lasting a little longer than before. Plus with a recorder in everyone’s hand and doing stupid stuff gets you more attention (clicks), unfortunately this won’t stop anytime soon. Well it could if they decided to have a strong police presence with heavy fines, jail and deportation. People are still going to do stupid stuff on their holidays, but So if you decide to act like a fool or just plain break the law your face should be on a wanted post (if not caught already) instead of a local news outlet talking about how bad the foreigners are and look at what they are doing. This is what is needed, not shortening the length of the holidays. -
Well I imagine we will find out by the end of the year. We just hit slow season and all the press is bad about tourism and the losses they are seeing. After the high season starts then they will say more and more tourists are coming and business is booming. If they don’t say that this year, I’d suggest they start looking at why they are losing tourism and business and doing something about it other than writing an article. Unfortunately Thailand is on its way down the list of places to visit, and the surrounding countries are getting noticed and are becoming the new place to go. Thailand needs to really focus on getting the right tourists coming and stop trying to get any cheap Charlie they can get. They did this to themselves and only they can get themselves out of it.

Report Thailand Waves Goodbye to Costly Scout Uniforms, Eases Parent Woes
jcmj replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I think they should definitely keep uniforms, but only 1 style. Not a different one for every day of the week. Gets expensive and if there are allowed to wear anything they want, there will be more issues with the “Keeping up with the Jones” and unfortunately some of the kids will start stealing the good stuff because they can’t afford it. Cheap enough to buy a couple uniforms for a week and call it done.
