  1. Good the pilots are speaking out about the dangers of flying into Chiang Mai. This will surely do the one thing needed to get officials to be serious in combatting this problem. Reduction of flights into the city and dangers entering the city will surely reduce tourism dollars.
  2. So true and if they did they would never accept the child as their own. Then you also need to think about their inability to fill the gap of a woman compared to a foreigner. Thai men are so small and so fast to leave the woman wanting more. Most Thai women will never accept a Thai man after being with foreigners for awhile. There really is no comparison.
  3. if they were good girls. As this insinuates. Why would they be seeking to leave their secure careers and good profiles to marry a stranger and run away to the USA? I think perhaps this American broke some hearts and this is their revenge. Also, I do not know how many of you foreigners would take videos or photos of your sex with a Thai woman to show Mom and Dad. So, I think this also was not true! He may have taken the videos or photos of which there is no crime committed if she willingly knew he was doing it. But instead perhaps the woman was fearful he would release those photos or videos after they broke up which gave the one a stress disorder.
  4. The OP is vague.. Did the police pay her only 10,000? or was 3000 lost between the time they gave it to her and her arrest?
  5. Thailand already has some shops that refuse cash. Subway to name one. Given that Thailand is a tourist hotspot though I do not foresee they totally converting to a cashless system. They would lose too much in lost tourism.
  6. Yes it is a normal but illegal way of circumventing Thai laws for business and property ownership. This is probably only the beginning.
  7. His visa has been revoked probably because he is in trouble and making trouble and costing the government a lot of money to prosecute him. Immigration can cancel your visa with no reasons at all. however, due to his criminal and perhaps civil cases coming, they can not evict him from Thailand so he is issued a special visa that is good until his court date.
  8. No. how can they upgrade their hacked software? Every computer in a school and government office that I have had the chance to see their screen always has the same logo on the bottom right indicating their window will expire. Showing they were using a hacking tool to use it. I can not see Microsoft using Thailand for a cloud base. Lack of security to hackers being one reason. Another would be their slow internet worldwide. I also do not foresee any plans to open any type of manufacturing either. Safety protocols required and very stringent and Thailand has a poor record of keeping stringent protocols in their plants.
  9. almost every government hospital has a dental office in it. It is cheaper and they are trained professionals. However you need to go early morning to get a queue if any are available for that day
  10. So the leader of the country saw or heard about the news of this particular foods ratings worldwide and ventured out for a photo op showing he ordered it. Although, from the looks of the photo he never actually ate it. Just an opportunity to convince people it was ok to eat by him. Only in Thailand would the leader be so concerned about such a small thing as one type of food other people reported as being so bad. Is his life so empty or his fear of losing tourists for that one report so bad that he has time to do this? Although, I have never tried this dish and never will, my wife raves about it but says its only good if there are veggies in it also. I wonder what would happen if a report came out that the spaghetti dish in Italy was the worst in the world? Do you think the leader would be worried enough to make a show like this?
  11. What about the Brits, Swiss, Germans, Poles and Americans? Seems you forgot quite a few that seem to be making the news and the officials happy to seek out more. Even the small things they are clamping down on. Frustration on all sides I guess. But this guy Anutin speaks more against foreigners when locals get away with so much. If caught working the law says the boss is supposed to be fined a lot. But i never read about what happened to the employer unless they are foreigner. When a foreigner is entangled in something illicit with Thai. I rarely see anything in news about what the police did to the Thai for punishment. Usually, only the foreigner gets the brunt
  12. But that does not restrict what money you have sent to thailand banks from the US. Which is what they are trying to tax.

  14. If you look at the video. He barely touched the tip of the tail. I do not see how that would apply to their laws about hurting the animals. The actions caused no damage and no injuries to the whale. I think they just use that law to make some money.
  15. Did you read the OP? The ladyboy clearly said she made an effort to meet them there and even had to ride a bike to get there. Clearly there is more to this story being untold. It sounded more like those monks used an app to invite the ladyboy to meet them for sex and when they saw it was not a real woman they said NO. So she followed them asking why to join her. This really does not sound like someone who just passed by and decided to try to get 2 monks to have sex with out of the blue.
  16. come on.. easy to see the Thai man was attempting to flee the scene of the accident and the foreigner grabbed him to prevent his running away and leaving the foreigner in the taxi. All this bad news about foreigners is making it too easy to accuse wrongdoing even if trying to help. Haha....
  17. only 39 today but feels like 47... scary to think what it will feel like if it goes to 46 for real.

  19. To think this man was able to hide in Thailand for so long without capture or knowledge of Thai officials. Speaks a lot about as to how so many criminals use Thailand to escape prosecution
  20. Hmm.... Do you really think a lifetime in a Thai prison is better than dead? I think I would prefer dead.
  21. Her body is changing. The way it processes foods is changing and that is causing her to gain weight. You need to tell her to exercise and diet or those extra kg will stay. She does not need hormone shots or anything else. This is a natural thing to happen when getting older. How she reacts to it and what she does to stop getting fatter is something she needs to work on. Whatever you do, keep telling her she is sexy and desirable haha.. otherwise when the last stages of menopause hits, her sexual desires will be met with someone younger haha..
  22. Seems the police and the courts and everyone involved are giving him ample chance to flee Thailand while he can. Normal behavior that would let the police save face about scandals with high ranking officials.
  23. Explaining it does not justify their actions while travelling abroad. These people who are like this as you described need to remember their place in society in another country. Your using their social misgivings from their history is wrong. People often use their countries history as an excuse to expect more or to act badly. It is no excuse.
  24. Although you are correct. There is truth to his comment. She would not be dead if she had remained faithful and was not off with that man. The comment was not made to justify her being killed but rather points out a simple fact. Whether or not the Burmese did this crime will forever be lost. But i do recall the case about how the Thai man disappeared in the middle of the night on an unscheduled boat trip ending him in Bangkok with reliable witnesses.
  25. I would have to agree. Most of the beaches in the Philippines are much better than Thailand. The OP does not seek to compare Thailand to Philippines except in development. But who really wants to go to a beach where people are walking around annoying you to buy the food they have in hand and having been carrying it for many hours trying to pawn it off on you. The beach is supposed to be a natural quiet place pristine and without eyesores. You are supposed to actually hear and smell the sea and surf. There are not many places like that left in Thailand but there are many in the Philippines. The water is cleaner there also. No sand flies that I can recall. Locals not trying to get the last baht out of you. Also the prices in the Philippines is cheaper.
