  1. That's destination preference. Nothing to do with covid restrictions.
  2. Tell that to the rest of the world as Thailand is not the only country with covid restrictions. As for alcohol restrictions - although I don't mind a drink or few now and then, I don't choose my holiday places based on drinks (or bar girls)
  3. Insomnia is on the long list of problems treatable by cannabis oil. Look for a clinic in your area and check with them
  4. I guess the op is not very clear so you got confused. It's not a fake Thailand pass form. It's a site that display a link to the actual form plus links to approved hotels for reservations. They get a commission from hotels when bookings are generated through those links.
  5. Once he has the schengen visa it doesn't matter which country he got it from and where he's going to. He's free to travel in all schengen countries
  6. Hard to find a definite answer as to how long after exposure the pcr test will show a positive result. The most specific answer I found so far is here: https://nortonhealthcare.com/news/how-long-after-exposure-to-test-positive-for-covid/ It can take almost a week after exposure to COVID-19 to have a positive test result So maybe the preflight + day off arrival testing is the best system there is, but it really means absolution nothing and doesn't make travel any safer to anyone
  7. Look at worldwide numbers - what's the % of the total population that have been so far infected? Last time I checked (in August) it was less than 10%. So the actual protection the vaccine is 90% of those 10%, yet vaxed people still get infected, still infect others, and still die.
  8. Why is it amazing? In the 72 hours between the pcr test and the flights most people are not in quarantine so they have enough opportunities to get infected. I never understood the logic behind that preflight testing... Why? Although Thais don't have to be tested in order to enter Thailand, most airlines still demand a negative test result for boarding. About a week ago Tonga got their very first covid infection case which was brought there by a fully vaxed New Zealander arriving from New Zealand. Plain unlucky or simply the whole vaccination and testing means nothing? But it fits well with yours...
  9. This is irrespective of their nationality. Thai nationals, residents and expats (long term visa) can return at any time without having to adhere to these 21 days, meaning they can go to one of the eligible countries for a shorter time and simply return. If I remember correctly the original post of the regulations, that part was referring to people going out of Thailand to a low risk country and returning on less than 21 days. Nowhere on that notice it said that anyone - including Thai nationals, PR's or long term stayers can come from a non low risk country simply by passing on a low risk country.
  10. You don't HAVE to download any app you don't want/ use. There's no need to root the phone and remove all or any apps (simply ignore them). There's no need for another sim/ number - you can use it where you have WiFi access for any app that needs Internet connection. Emails don't follow you by default - you actually have to set up the account on your phone in the same way you do in your computer, so if you're not interested, don't. However, you might find some benefits for using a smartphone with some communications apps such as WhatsApp or Line which you can use for sending text messages (similar to sms but with more options) and make audio and video calls for free, not only locally, but internationally as well.
  11. You should try that with a car. More fun.
  12. Just travelled 4 international flights in the last couple of months. Printed all documents before travelling and didn't have any problem NOT using a smartphone
  13. Not sure how it works if 2 separate tickets, but BKK air have specific 4 digit flights designated for the Samui sandbox, so passengers check through in BKK and continue to Samui. I know this arrangement works when issuing 1 ticket for both airlines.
  14. Does anyone know if "heir after heir" is a valid statement in Thai laws?
  15. How about playing with friends? Parents?
  16. Whether a company does business or not, it still has to file tax records. Being a limited company, you must have a registered capital that debts can be collected from. The registered shareholders must have a proof that they have payed for their shares, and if they cannot provide that proof, they are liable for that amount. A company doesn't get closed automatically by the government for no activity. The directors have to close it officially. Many years ago I kept such a company alive (no business done, but reports made as due), and when I decided I don't need/ want it any longer, I had my accountant officially close it.
  17. She was my first and only, but since then I date many others just to ascertain she's the 1...
  18. Tell me where you are an I'll come to relieve you of ALL your dirty cash ????
  19. I guess that normal tourists that come here for a short holiday with our without kids find the 30 + 30 days visa exempt as good enough...
  20. There are no many countries (if any at all) that have covid regulations that make sense. Some countries demand pre- flight test 48 hours before flight, other 72 hours before, and some up to 10 days before flight. Some countries demand the tests for passengers over 12, some over 18 - and we all know by now that little kids can get sick and infect others just as adults do. We also know that vaccinated people can get sick and infect others, so why can they travel without quarantine when unvaccinated people, Subject to the same tests must endure quarantine even if they show negative results? And here's some regulations for the UK: COVID-19 PCR Test for Entry? 01 October 2020 TRAVEL ADVICE COVID19 PCR TEST Updated: September 2nd 2021 IMPORTANT UPDATE: From July 19th at 4am arrivals who have been fully vaccinated returning to the UK from amber list countries no longer need to quarantine! This includes UK vaccine trials and children under the age of 18 are to be exempt from quarantine on returning to England from amber list countries. Pre-departure testing and day 2 testing measures to remain. They also demand 2 tests, before and after arrival...
  21. AFAIK the only time a house has a separate chanot than the land it's built on is in village developments (when a building company buys a big piece of land and builds the whole village). Other than that there's no such thing as a house ownership without the land. The blue/ yellow books only serve as an address registration for the people registered in the book, and does not indicate ownership. As Usufruct is non transferable and dies with it's owner anyway, how would you be able to sell the house or will it to anyone after your death? The name on the building permit also means nothing in regards to house ownership.
  22. Ma any rich people in many countries have bank accounts out of their countries. Usually it's done to evade local taxes and/ or to diversify risks
  23. When a new phone is announced and people precook it they pay premium price, whereas smarter people who wait a couple of months get better deals....
