Airline refunded me to much for unused ticket!
LukKrueng replied to Hummin's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Many airlines state that extras bought and paid for are non refundable. The only times they do refund the extras (at least special seats) is if they change the aircraft and can no longer give a seat as paid for, and even that is not automatically done but have to be argued for. -
What to use to protect Tomatoes and other veggies
LukKrueng replied to MJCM's topic in Plants, Pets & Vets in Thailand
Looks beautiful. The fact that it's detached from the soil already protects the plants from many pests. There are many organic pesticides but they are only repel the pests, not killing them and after trying many such products I came to a conclusion that they are worthless. You can also try to spray soaped water (can use organic soak as well), tobacco water (you can buy cheap tobacco in most local market. You soak the tobacco in water over night and then spray the water) or chili water - same way as tobacco, but crush the chilies before soaking. All those solutions will deter some pests but not all, and any rain will wash them off the plants. Best to spray early morning or early evening when the sun is not very strong. Good luck. -
Check the laws in other countries, like your home country. Can a visitor just decide that he\she wants to stay for ever, after their visa expired? AFAIK, in Europe one can stay up to 3 months on visa exempt. But border runs between 2 European countries does not get you more time. You actually have to go out of the EU. On the US it is 6 months and then you have to go out. In Australia about 3 months, and let's see you do an Overland border run there... So better get rid of immigration officers and offices all over the world. Cancel passports and let anyone just choose where they want to live. This way the immigration officers could join the police force and eliminate all crimes and road accidents and the world will be a happy place..

The whole idea of this is the your security. When installing and registering the app for the first time on a new phone you simply have to use the phone number registered with the bank. Otherwise anyone who has your details could install and use the app with your bank account details. Your only 2 options are to keep using the old phone for this app till you return to Thailand, or out on the correct sim, open data usage to register the app and then you can keep using WiFi to work with the app. If you already downloaded the app, the actual activation won't take much data usage so it shouldn't be very expensive anyway.

Road safety Here is how it could be done in Thailand
LukKrueng replied to norbra's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
If the Thai people and the Thai government REALLY wanted - Thailand could become like any very advanced western country, or at least Singapore. With similar laws and law enforcement, same economy status, same safety standards and probably same or higher cost of living. But then what? will you all still like or even be able to live here? Most retired people and some married to Thai people that I know come here mostly due to the much cheaper cost of living as they won't be able to keep the same standards in their home countries. -
Most people would consider cocks that never or only seldomly rise as problematic. Just sayin....

Chadchart Urges Residents To Get Booster Shot After Covid Count Climbs
LukKrueng replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I don't get it. It is already established and well known fact that vaccination does NOT stop infections. So what does the rise in infections have to do with getting more jabs? It won't stop the infections anyway. -

You're confusing airline check in with immigration. 1. In the UK at check in show Thai passport if you don't have a return ticket. They might want to see the UK passport as well. 2. At the UK immigration you show the UK passport (although someone mentioned above there is no passport control when leaving the UK). 3. At Thailand immigration show Thai passport. On the way back: 1. In Thailand check in show British passport. They might want to see the Thai passport as well. 2. At Thai immigration show Thai passport. 3. At UK immigration show UK passport.

Rising smog prompts burning question: Can Thailand break PM2.5 cycle?
LukKrueng replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Isn't it the same for any problem all over the world? -
Airlines do require passport details, even more than used to be in the past. With some airlines\destinations the system won't issue the ticket without passport details. If the name on both passports is the same, give the airline details of the passport you'll use to enter your destination (so in op's case Thai passport for the flight here and UK passport on way back). If different names on the passports ie maiden\married names I'd use the UK passport for the flight booking and check in and the Thai passport only at Thai immigration. I have 2 passports with a small spelling difference of the family name (only 1 different letter). I once booked a flight using the spelling on the passport to be used at the destination. No problem at either end, but couldn't get the miles on the frequent traveler of that airline on which I'm registered with the other spelling. Ever since then I always use the spelling as on the airline's membership, yet at the web check in I provide the details of the passport to be used at the destination, so 1 passport for go and the other 1 for return. At the airport the airlines usually want to see both.
