Now is a good time to book Moderna for your loved ones if, like mine, they won't have the Chinese vaccines. ????

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Of all the Moderna that has arrive. Only 10% will be given to hospitals. The government will procure the rest for their program. In the hospital I paid and registered for many months ago. They claim they will only get 70k doses with the next 10 days. But reading this news is misleading to say the least. In Thai news I'm told they this other pertinent information. So don't quote me on it. Because I can't read Thai to know sure if my information is 100% accurate.

Could be that way. It begs the question what will happen to all the real estate in say pattaya that 'was' reliant on dare I say 'the sex industry'?

Will it all end up as family restaurants, Indian tailors and Chinese take aways?

It's all going to be very interesting to say the least.

A lot of other countries have busy tourist businesses that don't rely on an in  your face sex industry.

Well.. it surely would not be Chinese takeaways... They do not come here to spend money. They pay tours and when they leave their hotels they only take photos. Go back to hotel for their free food.. and do what the travel companies tell them to do. Which doesn't support the locals at all. As for the Russians and indians.. they are smart enough not to invest in having a business now without tourist now that actually spend money

  3. It took me many applications to register to get vaccine. I even paid for moderna. But I was surprised thaiintervac came through. 2 days after I applied I called the hospital where I was directed for the process of getting phizer. I asked them length of time to get an actual appointment and they could not answer except to say the health department take at least 2 weeks to process application. 2 days late rthe hospital called me and gave my appointment within 2 days. Very professional and organised. Hospital staff kind and helpful. I even stepped out for a smoke and they called my phone to say I was next. Was on and out in 2 hours only because I arrived 30 minutes early. My 2nd dose of phizer is in 3 weeks.

You make it sound that Pfizer was easy to obtain for expats. You were lucky that's all. Vast majority of expats did not receive Pfizer.

You're correct.. I'm registered on Bangkok for Moderna, phizer, and J and J. Not a peep from any of them as to when I can get a jab.  Perhaps by end of the year if I have not caught this bug and died. I'm just shy in 3 of the underlying conditions so can't jump to the front line. He got lucky to get his vaccine already. So many of us see no light in this happening for us anytime soon.

Received my first Pfizer shot; hardly any side effects, except feeling a bit sleepy the same day, and getting very slight and short headaches (barely noticeable) on the second day. I'm a bit worried that the vaccine was perhaps 'wrongly' handled or 'not working' due to being nearly expired.

I'm curious how you even managed to register being their website only accepted people over 60 or with the 7 underlying conditions.

State your large city ... this is hard to believe.

Many younger Thai's are getting vaccinated in Bangkok and surrounding provinces.  Even up in Chiang Mai Thai's are getting vaccinated.  Thai people were getting vaccinated long time before foreigners in this country.

I'm with the other guy... In Bangkok. Registered at 4 places. Paid moderna already and maybe it will come in October or November. Just under their requirement of the 7 underlying conditions as well as just under 60. Not a peep on when I will be able to get my vaccine also. Websites are a mess. You're younger so how did you get it before us? What was your secret . Because I've met and talk with many foreigner in bkk having the same results as I am.

If he intentionally hit you that's actually very serious here. You just need to explain this clearly and respectfully to the police with the video and they'll help.

More likely, there isn't enough evidence to show it was deliberate so it is being attributed to negligence which is trivial here. If he's co-operating in ensuring your medical bills are paid (either through his insurance or directly), he's not going to get fined or punished criminally. There's nothing you can do about this.

Actually do not listen to this guy.. if a person walking is struck by a vehicle and they are at fault.. the law is very protective of people walking. You can make a case against them. Go to the police and inform them you wish to prosecute. Bring a lawyer because you are also entitled to a civil suit which will demand they pay damages to you.

I was recently in a similar situation and learned all this. The criminal part for their driving can and would be dismissed if the driver pays you compensation.. I had to pay someone 150,000 baht and they walked into me haha.. hit the police said it was still my fault because it was at a crosswalk. After a couple months they walker settled for the cash and the police made a statement all was settled .. You need to go get a lawyer or a thai to speak out and make this happen. Even the vehicles insurance will pay you off. Get off your butt and do something.. or nothing will happen

Good ol' Tammy. She could've been President.

As much as I dislike it, when dealing with other govts, they must prioritize appeasing the other govts first, then serving their citizens. As in the larger scheme of things, making the other govts happy then helps us in turn. Remember it wasn't long ago, when everyone's visas were running out, that kicking us all out seemed a very real possibility.

And you watch , wait and see! When most of the thai are vaccines and foreigners are not.  The tables will turn and new strict rules will be imposed on those of us living here. Especially if a real western foreigner creates a hotspot dispensing covid.. which luckily has not happened yet.  If it had, all westerners in Thailand would be locked in their rooms or stopped on streets to be checked where going and with whom.. If history tells us one thing. Is that when something happens bad it's caused by a western foreigner. This country reacts in the most extreme measures and publicizes their blame on us so the rest of the country shuns us.

If that happened it might make Pattaya MORE attractive as a tourist destination, for those that stayed away in droves because the city prior to corona was frankly unpleasant, with far too much traffic and far too many boring shops selling the same tourist junk.

Hopefully the closed businesses would be bulldozed, the pavements widened and some much needed parks opened in their place.

Personally, Pattaya hasn't been a great destination since turn of the century.

BTW, what tourist city that wants to attract visitors puts up a sewage plant right next to the biggest tourist attraction?

Do not worry.. none of this will happen. As soon as pattaya quotes tourism is open and bars are open... Their covid vaccination number will be so low they will have to close again. Once all those bar girls return by the thousands.. their vaccine plan will appear to have failed.
