  1. It won't take long for the BIB boys to sell 500 kg of weed, then back to the river to fish for more. The cops will make more providing security to the weed farms and re-selling confiscated weed than they ever made in baksheesh. It's a win-win for everybody, and high time the Boys in Brown got some love. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of guys ????
  2. I'm thinking about the global market, and the very low cost of production in Thailand for indoor buds and extracts which are both becoming global commodities. I'm sure the Thai gov and big corporate companies in Thailand like CP, and already in talks with global distributors like Tilery about exporting tons of weed and barrels of extracts. With the low cost of production here there will certainly be a black market too.
  3. Thailand's labor cost, land values, and lack of regulation and taxes will give Thailand one of the lowest costs of production in the world - by far. Oil extract is a commodity - as an ingredient for edibles, as are indoor buds where quality can be identical to western markets but at 1/3 the production cost. You can bet there will be deals between the big legal companies - like Tilary and big Thai companies like CP. Of course there will be a huge black market export market as well. Think about it ????
  4. There were tons of listings a few days ago, but as of this moment it looks like all "Cannabis" listings have been removed from shoppee.
  5. Legalization in Thailand is a massive invitation to drug traffickers from around the planet to get involved. Every criminal organization from gangs to cartels are trying to figure out how to get in on the action in Thailand. Thai weed will be a game changer in the global black market for weed. The "good guys in bad guys out" scheme just got a whole lot more complicated ????
  6. I've met a few foreign ganja entrepreneurs involved in dispensaries startups, and all of them impressed me as the fast talking scammers types that target other farangs. There is a massive new business opportunity in Thailand, and it's reasonable to let Thais take a big bite at the apple first. This regulation is even more significant at large scale production and export operations. Seems reasonable to me.
  7. I think the more relevant question is; How many tour operators in India are selling packages with travel insurance under the "free holiday in Thailand" scheme?
  8. The Thai government would prefer you in bringing in some trophy weed. Your 20kg baggage allowance would be the only limit ????
  9. Ya, and American wages, land values, regulation costs, and taxation are sky high. The cost of production in Thailand can't be more than a third of that in the USA. At 150 baht/gram Thai sellers would still be making more profit than American counterparts. There will be a tsunami of outdoor weed flooding the market by the end of the year. Going to the farmers market will be a lot of fun ????
  10. Agree - with the much lower cost of production for wages, taxes, and land that puts fair retail cost here around 70 baht/gram. The retail shops targeting farangs and charging 400-600/gram are really taking advantage of the moment. I for one won't forget it ????
  11. I was with you all the way...until you took that cheap shot at coke snorting hedonists ????
  12. What is the fair price for premium buds in Thailand? California has a legal weed market, and top grade buds are $USD 6-7/gram - so less that 250 baht per gram. Cost of production; California's minimum wage is about 4,000 baht/day - most workers earn more. Those wages are paid to all of the workers in the marijuana production, distribution, and retail supply chain. California land and rental prices are some of the highest in the world California taxes the heck out of all the Marijuana businesses involved in the production and supply chain, plus adds a per pound tax on harvested plants and a per ounce tax on retail weed. The licensing process in California is expensive and takes a long time Thailand's cost of production; Thailand's minimum wage is 10% of that in California Thailand's land and rental prices are significantly less than California to say the least Thailand doesn't currently have any special taxes or licensing on Marijuana (ya that might change soon but it's unlikely to be huge) So if California can produce top quality buds at 250 baht per gram - what's the right price in Thailand?
  13. The weed tourism market is just a small fraction of the potential benefit. Thailand's low cost of labor, land values, and lack of government taxation could set Thailand with one of the lowest cost of weed production in the world. Growing weed is no more labor intensive than growing rice, and export value would be thousands of dollars per kilo vs about a dollar for rice. The demand will grow as laws are eased globally. Add in the export of Marijuana infused foods, drinks, and oils and it'll start to add up to some real money ????
  14. Well, the "tourists that they have been wanting to attract" are people from India. So far I've seen more single Indian male travelers than Indian families. I don't agree that "weed tourists" are their polar opposite, nor that "weed tourists" would spend less which is of course what the tourism sector really needs. It's silly to project that everyone that enjoys alcohol is a derelict alcoholic. Likewise, weed smokers come from all walks of life, and not everyone that smokes weed is a lazy hippie ????
  15. The only interesting part of the article to me was the photo of varieties and prices. These prices seem WAY to expensive to me for a weed that can now be legally grown by anyone ???? Where can I get top quality product at more economical prices in Pattaya?
  16. Dude - thinking has evolved a bit since Reefer Madness was release in 1932, but congrats on surviving this long with your head in the sand ????
  17. A few years ago I asked for a stamp in my passport or some sort of receipt for the 800k post renewal check-in. She said no, but that even if they lost my filing there wouldn't be an issue as long as I had the passbook showing my required balances. Needless to say I have not bothered since and have never even been asked about it.
  18. Pattaya has an impressive number of foreign tourists at the moment, but with Chinese people still unable to travel and impact of the Ukraine war, most of the foreign tourists are Indian men. That fits Thailand's stated focus on Indian tourists, but I seriously doubt they are spending anywhere near TAT's fantasy spend. I think the only folks truly celebrating are the owners of Pattaya's Indian restaurants, although I've heard the soapy massage places are doing a slick bit of business these days too ????
  19. Seems he did not run away at first - only when he saw the parents coming at him - can't blame him for that ! Roadside justice in Thailand can be brutal. I once saw a group of 8 locals kick the <deleted> out of a drunk motorbike rider that hit a little girl. So many that they politely waited their turns kicking him as he lay on the ground. There is little chance the truck driver will evade the cops - I imagine he'd just rather take his chances with the cops than have a bunch of angry parents stop his ass on the side of the road ????
  20. Well, I was going say that we are all being a big harsh since he's really only murdered his girlfriend the one time...but I guess you've got a point.
  21. Let me make sure I understand - a crime has not been committed until you exhale?
  22. Yep, as do facebook, google news, and yahoo. Then of course there is Truth Social which is kind of like an acid trip... where the sky is yellow and the sun is blue ????
