  1. A farang flaming the farang flamers from his perch atop the moral high ground. What else is new?
  2. There's much to be learned from the article. I'll be changing locations every day to keep the taxi guys from messing with my scams ????
  3. How stupid - People bitten by sharks in Thailand are extremely rare ( 5 incidents and only one death since 1966) ...why plant the notion that the ocean is unsafe? Statue of a farang fighting a Jet ski scammer would tell a much more believable story.
  4. Ya sure, it's a photo of the first spill having "little impact" on the environment or local businesses ;-(
  5. Hmmm. I asked MedPark and learned that I was given 100ug (.5ml) of Moderna as the booster. I received my initial 2 Pfizer doses for free, but I paid for this one so I could receive it after six months. I'm a little surprised I got so much more than recommended, but I guess they gave me the dose I paid for and I only had a days worth of side effects. I noticed that none of the certificates list dose size (at least not in English). From reading other posts it sure seems like dose size is something we need to pay closer attention to in Thailand. Now I'm wondering how that might work out regarding international recognition of the vaccines received here.
  6. I got a Moderna booster (after Pfizer/Pfizer) at MedPark on Feb 5. They did not offer me any options ;-(
  7. Been there, done that. "Free competition" amounted to collusive price fixing where a taxi driver wouldn't dare give you a fair deal in fear of reprisal by other taxis. The current system was supposed to help cure that problem. If the taxi drivers hate it - it must be working ???? The real solution would be requiring all taxis to be metered. That's quite likely to happen - just after hell freezes over.
  8. Send photos of your crack ????
  9. If growing the plants is legal, recreational consumption will be impossible to control. Seems like they are setting it up to be similar to prostitution - technically illegal, but commercially facilitated. It's a step ????
  10. Exactly right - extract means processed. Process products (oils and edibles made from extracts) have huge export potential and that's probably why the government wants to continue to regulate it. The "Land of Smiles" brand just took on a whole meaning ????
  11. With death rate low and infection rate high the most informative graphic would be the daily number of hospitalizations. I'm not seeing that number in in English or any rolling average graphs. Anyone know if this info is available?
  12. Ya, and here's an alarming perspective for American - Covid has killed more Americans in two years than all wars put together in the last 150 years. There have been about 634k American deaths in all the wars since the end of the Civil War in 1865. That includes WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan etc etc etc. By contrast - Covid has killed almost 900k Americans (mostly civilians) in just two years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_military_casualties_of_war
  13. I'm guessing the greatest economic potential for the country as a whole is the export market, probably more for for processed extracts than buds. Electricity in Thailand is too expensive to be globally competitive in the indoor grows, but there sure is plenty of sunlight ????
  14. I read "extracts containing more than .2 percent" to mean oils, and the various heavy duty pot extracts like butane hash oil, shatter, tinctures ect which they probably want to control. Fingers crossed that good old natural buds are going to be allowed ????
  15. Ya, but Thailand often follows USA CDC (I think that's how Thailand came up with 6 months). Maybe well get some news here soon. I wrote to MedPark a few days ago and they have not answered - usually they answer quickly so maybe they are expecting a change soon. I think I remember you at MedPark - you are about my age and you were wearing a mask right? ????
  16. The CDC in the USA reduced their recommendation to 5 months, so the early Thailand Pfizer recipients would be eligible now or soon. My 2nd shot was Sept 2 so I'd like to get the booster early Feb.
  17. I received two doses of Pfizer vaccine in Thailand (August/September 2021). Has anyone yet received a booster (in Thailand) after two Pfizer doses? The press releases from the government is now suggesting a booster after 3 months but unclear about Pfizer boosters. Thanks, w
  18. I've got the 3BB Fiber optic (Phratumnak). At the moment it's normal, but I find it slows to a crawl ever 2-3 months for no apparent reason and requires a call to 3BB. They always blame it on a "bad connection at the street box" and fix it within a day or two. Full service "normal" is something close to the 1Gig/second advertised inside Thailand and 20-30% of that to the USA. There is quite a bit of variation between testing servers chosen on the USA side. I assume there are many routes data can take between Thailand and foreign servers.
  19. I got my 2 Pfizer jabs at Medpark and asked them about a booster. They didn't say which I'd get but assuming it would be a 3rd pfizer. "As per Ministry of Public Health, mRNA Vaccine needs 6 months interval for booster queue....we only follow MOPH program for the vaccine."
  20. Brilliant move by Japan - Thailand will be buying overpriced replacement parts for decades. Gillette used to give away their razors for free, but they sure made a lot of money selling razor blades ????
  21. "Foul mouthed ladyboy"....uh that's just the English translation for "Kathoey" right?
  22. Clear as mud and bound to please no one. "All attendees must be fully inoculated and have tested negative, using a rapid antigen kit, within the 72 hours prior to attending the event".... wow - totally unrealistic and will be a nightmare to enforce on New Years Eve. I'll just #StayTheFlockAtHome
  23. Thanks stocky - what I can't figure out is the red asterisk "Have a covid 19 test result no over than 7 days". Does that apply to the red note for "travel from some destinations like Songkhla...."? Anyone know where I can get a definitive answer? Thanks.
  24. I need to fly domestic flight from Suvarnabhumi to Krabi. Is there currently any other covid test or paperwork needed in addition to my vaccine certificate (2x Pfizer received in BKK)? How do I learn what are the most up to date requirements for Krabi?
