  1. Not want to digress from the topic but I have to agree with your comment on " down the toilet " . Just returned to Thailand after 2 months in the UK which gives the impression of being over populated , very expensive cost of living and a noticeable amount of non indigenous people in the towns and country . The cost of housing/ renting has erupted to a level that young people - first time buyers cannot enter the market . The full UK state pension is poor even for those who made the full contributions and find themselves unable to claim any monetary benefits as opposed to those who did not plan for their old age and receive a lower pension and so qualify for a lot of benefits . If I was a young man I would seriously consider emigrating . Many UK pensioners cannot afford to heat their homes and visit day centers and libraries to keep warm . I say charity begins at home and so take care of the indigenous Brit as a priority , not as it is at the moment with the UK pensioners being treated unfairly and at the back of the queue . Shame on the UK government and benefits system .
  2. True and for that reason her job title , income and her companies standing and willingness to endorse her return to work could be important . As for self employed , it becomes more difficult without an employer endorsement , as was the case with my lady who owns her own restaurant and house and supported her parents . Me with a 7 bedroom house , money in the bank , proof of our 7 year relationship, plus a reference / guarantee from my police officer son that she would return to Thailand at the end of her visit to the UK . Outcome was a refusal for the tourist visa with a statement that there was doubt that she would return to Thailand . That is all they would say and that left me bewildered and puzzled . Not bother again .
  3. Exactly and that is why the Thai gov; will not legalize vaping i.e. people stop smoking = loss of taxes to the gov; and revenue to the tobacco industry VIPs in Thailand .
  4. Golden Virginia tobacco is now £34 for a 50 gram pouch . Many in the UK now vaping but come to Thailand with your vape is risky as a foreigner but not Thai folk . Thai vape laws set up to extract funds from foreigners and not for health reasons .
  5. Totally agree and I made a similar statement a few months ago . I simply do not understand why these sad <deleted> are protected and anonymous . Cowards in my opinion .
  6. So true and had he made private donations to needy foundations, it would probably have been made public by the press etc and stood him in good stead / kudos . What he has done is a planned way to make him appear a generous good person with his donation being minuscule in comparison to his wealth . BTW , I have tried to explain the meaning of CHARITY to my lady , up here in Issan . It is something that she has never heard of before .and when I explained that in the western world there are many charitable institutions , she was amazed .
  7. I flew BK to Heathrow 10 days ago . One way was 340 pounds . It was 1 hour late leaving Suvarnabhumi airport and 30 minutes late in London . Shame really because the service in economy was excellent i.e. 3 hot good meals and plenty of drinks ( I even got a beer before take off in the galley at the rear of the plane ) . Flight attendants were eager to help . The toilets were always clean . Snacks available between meals . I could not fault the in flight service , plenty of movies and about 200 pounds cheaper than Eva Air . Thai Airways are my preferred way to fly UK / Thailand
  8. While they are at it , maybe they should consider departures which is often way over crowded with queues from security to the elevator and immigration desks . Airport staff walking up and down the queues asking what time is your flight so as to bring you forward to the immigration desks to avoid missing your flight . BTW I flew out on the 17th this month and the Thai air plane was 1 hour late docking but made time up and was 30 minutes late at Heathrow but the Thai Air flight was good . 3 meals were all good and plenty of drinks and snacks . Cabin crew very courteous . ( had to mention Thai Air experience because they were criticized on this forum a couple of weeks ago )
  9. Your opinion is so true , yet one can stay in a good hotel where every facility is immaculate and then venture out to a complete contrast for a shop or a beer and have to pass through a minefield of broken pavements / sidewalks or try to cross a road that has some crazy inconsiderate drivers . Lets face it , the majority of tourists are probably single males looking for the bar scene but I read that many girls are working on line and ditching the bars . Many bars with unattractive women and some appear to have come out of retirement .
  10. Cialis is available in Thailand and a quick Google search came up with several suppliers including the next link https://www.misskamagra.com/cialis.html . Granted it is not cheap and the pills are 20 mg , not 5 mg . No prescription needed . I have also seen it for sale in Pattaya , by mobile vendors but maybe a copy because much cheaper than on line pharmacies .
  11. May I ask if you have ever taken Viagra or anything similar . Not just for sexual reasons but also relaxes the prostate and makes urinating much easier . There was an article on the BBC News medical journal a couple of years ago that stated men over 50 years old would benefit from taking 50 mg of sildenafil ( or a generic pill ) a day to control and reduce the prostate size . This may be too late for you but it may help other readers
  12. How is the size of a prostate made ? Also I thought that a digital exam was the most reliable indicator of an enlarged prostate and normally the first procedure along with the PSA test .
  13. To the OP , Adumbration , I admire your courage in bringing this delicate subject to this forum . Most men over the middle age years will have this problem to some degree . Many men are stubborn in getting a check up on their prostate because of embarrassment of a digital examination . I have been Googling the Aquablation technique and it appears to address all your concerns . Extract below from https://potomacurology.com/services/bph-treatment-options/aquablation/ What Are The Side Effects of Aquablation Therapy? We know that the primary reason men are delaying surgery is because they are concerned about side effects.1 In fact, a recent survey shows that 85% of men are concerned that surgery will cause incontinence, and 4 out of 5 men are concerned that surgery will have a permanent impact on their sexual function.1 In clinical studies, men who had Aquablation therapy had a very low rate of irreversible complications—incontinence, ejaculatory dysfunction, erectile dysfunction.2,3 0% impact on erectile function, orgasmic function, sexual desire, intercourse satisfaction or overall sexual satisfaction2,3,4 NEARLY ALL men with BPH preserve ejaculatory function with Aquablation therapy2,3,4 99% men with BPH did not have incontinence after Aquablation therapy2,3,4
  14. Perilous pavements are a common feature throughout Thailand unfortunately . From street vendors who cause bottle necks to broken pavement tiles and concrete posts in the middle of pavements , there is also no consideration for those in wheelchairs or push chairs which is a reflection on Thailand's attitude to health & safety in general . To the OP , begging is illegal in Thailand and the normal police should act on your complaint .
  15. Please explain how you do you remove the cvv number from the card ?
  16. Me too , in my man bag . Nothing of real value do I leave in the hotel room bar one time when I had a lot of cash that I hid inside the air-con unit but never again .
  17. Probably not because Thai insurance companies will repair if they can save any money on a right off settlement . I have seen this twice where badly damaged pick ups were repaired and one of them had a complete new 4 door cab fitted and it took 2 or more months to repair or thats how long it was to wait .
  18. Agree , plus free from street vendors and concrete posts etc and no 1 foot drops to the road . I once saw a farang break his ankle at the top of 2nd road near Macdonalds . A tile was missing from the pavement and a 6 inch drop . More hazardous when walking at night . This goes for most of the towns / cities in Thailand , causing people to walk on the road . Pattaya missed an opportunity during the covid pandemic to improve facilities for tourists and locals . EG. Part of Beach road , could have made a promenade and provided some seating . Installed public toilets . I am not advocating copying Spanish resorts but there are basic Western health & safety standards which are not used in Thailand . Often farangs get caught out because they are accustomed to Western standards . I include street food hygiene and beach h&s
  19. So the Thai baht is artificially inflated . What affect can that have on the Thai economy ? An overrated currency , pretending to be strong whilst in reality the country has lost manufacturing companies along with a drop off in tourism . I can only assume that it is the wealthy Thais who are benefiting from the supported baht through held tangible assets such as Bangkok buildings and office blocks etc .
  20. Vinegar ? yes you can use it but the lemon or lime work well
  21. Thanks for the recipe and mine is the same and but most of the time I prefer to use olive oil . Also it can be modified to make a Heinz type salad cream
  22. Cannot agree on the local beaches that are highly polluted and rarely if ever tested . Often seen are used condoms and excrement floating in the water . Also be aware of rip tides and box jelly fish .
  23. I do the same and you must have the stick blender because without it using a hand whisk it will not emulsify . BTW what is your recipe ( thanks for the pics , very good )
