  1. He will get nowhere on negligence charge on the mother. In the US and I am sure most EU countries if the mother went to work and left the children with a babysitter or gran parents to be taken care of that would not be considered negligente care.  If an accident occured the police /investigators or court would determine if the babbysitter/ gran parents were negligent or just an unfortunate accident. The mother would face no charges in any scenario. Think his lawyer is giving him bad dvice or maybe trying to increase her charges.

If he has a court order giving him custody of the kids why has he never shown it to media or police? Think a lot of BS going on and 2 hateful people trying to screw each other over.

  2. Can you answer this question for the forum---you are homophobic correct?   Doesn't mean you necessarily hate gays but are uncomfortable around them and therefore don't like being touched by any guy whether straight or straight looking gay guy. and definitely not katoy's. Most guys don't freak out because some guy touches their arm for 3 seconds while talking and want to call the police.  I have a friend who I have known for 30+ plus years, known his gf's , family  and on occasion when drunk gets real affectionate says your the best man, great friend I love you man and will hug me. I don't freak out and feel like I am being assaulted.

Some ladyboys are quiet others are flamboyant and over the top in their actions, seem he is like that. (probably some mental issues) You would leave wife and kid over  an occasion visit by BIL? I would limit my time around him and the family when they are together (could maybe go somewhere else) and ignor the arm touch ---no big deal but can tell him stop if he goes further.

i don't think i have ever worn a seat belt in the back of a taxi so i guess that makes me stupid too and no doubt at least 90% of people.

And how does that sentence you quoted mean she wasn't wearing a seat belt?

I never used to wear a seatbelt in the back of a taxi but recently have gotten in taxi's in Bangkok with a sign in back seat that says buckle belt or 500 baht fine if stopped. The driver doesn't pay you do , so now I wear the seatbelts.

When a foreigner did similar at Wat Arun it was described as "despicable", here it is described as "art"!  Again, two tiered morality.........."buns", "milkshakes", "supersized".......I am appalled! What must Ronald McDonald be thinking?

It was considered "despicable"  because it was done at a Wat.  Need to show respect for religious place whether Temple, Mosk, or  Church. You may not hold religious beliefs but have to respect the culture/religion of the country your in.  Chines tourist were recently warned and their guide fined for climbing all over the ruins in Ayuthya

I totally agree that these "loud" motorbikes of the teenagers is really annoying ... I get angry and upset every time our teenage son and his friends come to our house with their "loud" bikes .... they also work on them in our front yard ... <deleted>!!! ... however I bite my tounge and never say a word ... I can remember when I was a teenager (I'm now 80 yrs old) and we lowered our cars, put "moon disk" hubcaps on them and new exhaust mufflers/pipes that made them "growl" and were also very loud ... the louder the better as we cruised around with our radios turned up as loud as they would go (was considered very "cool" back then) and punching on the accelarator to hear the very loud "growl" of the so called mufflers .... when you are a teenager "loud" means you are a big deal and very, very cool ... especially when you are shootin' off the line at the local drag strip

Again yes it's extremely irritating but try to remember when you were a teenager and cruisin' around ... loud is good ... loud is cool ... loud is YEAAAAAAH BABY

I'm now 80 years old and quiet is yeaaaaah baby

They were called  (in USA anyway) Glass Pack Mufflers to make your car sound loud/powerfull and "cool".

The interesting question is, who do thai girls like most?

    Western from Northe Europe

    Western from South Europe

    Western from USA

    Russia and former USSR

The countries that is likely to grow in volume is

    India

    Pakistan

    China

I know for sure, thai really disslike India, Pakistanis and Chineese, and do not want to have anything with them to do. Or is my information wrong?

They may not like them for a mate but they will sell them whatever they want.  I was in Jomtien buying a condo to rent out, 5--6 Chinese couples  came in to buy condo's as well. So I'm not going anywhere (I live in 3 bedroom home in  Chon Buri)  and I guess I will be selling or renting to the other Chinese that come over. Oh  a lot of them speak English. according to a survey there are more Chinese who speak English than the population of the US.

For our visiting friends puzzled by or indifferent to this, allow me to voice some Thai sentiments. Outward appearance for a Thai is extremely important. This is how Thais think when confronted with such low-end tourists dressing disrespectfully. It’s acceptable to dress as described when you are in Pattaya or Koh Samui, complete with a beer cooler in one hand and a holiday partner in the other. But city life is another matter.

We are highly concerned about our appearance. It defines who we are in our class hierarchy. Observe the 7am public transport scene on either a local bus or the BTS: office workers dressed immaculately, both men and women equally fashionable. In the evening time, inside low-end street bars, local restaurants or high-end fancy hotels find much the same: We are a nation proud of our style and fashion.

I always suspect very few of the 'jumpers' actually jumped.

More like fell or were pushed.

But suicide is a popular and convenient explanation for all concerned, police don't need to investigate, insurance doesn't need to pay, holidaymakers aren't discouraged from visiting. 'Jumping' is a win win conclusion for all involved (except the victim, and who really cares about an old foreigner).

You are wrong about the insurance  (if a person had any) not paying  when the person commits suicide. Many insurance companies  will pay if the policy has been in effect for a number of years, usually a minimum of 2 years.

Almost every woman I've ever known or hear about.

I certainly never contributed any more money for the upbringing of children my former wife didn't allow me to see (apart from my house, all my savings and half my pension in the divorce settlement).

Are you dense?  The home , your savings and half your pension provided for  your kids. This guy allegedly has sent them nothing , they have no home and he's complaining about 20,000 baht she "borrowed" 4 years ago to buy things for the kids. Kinda fits a profile of a deadbeat dad.

Why is the father's part not mentioned?

Maybe you should read post #7 (both links) The dad doesn't seem to be a great guy and in a post from him earlier he stated his wife hadn't let him see the kids in 4 years since the divorce and she owed him 20,000 baht he lent her . Realy?  Guess he figures if he can't see the kids won't send any money for their support.

How many times do we see those that professed to have loved each other and had kids later after breaking up used the kids  simply as bargaining chips or a way to get back /hurt the other with no real concern for the child/children.

Without wishing to sound cynical, it seems he wasn't heartbroken enough to not install a new girlfriend.  Unfortunately as we all know, the real truth is unlikely to surface at all.

Just because he had a new GF as the song says :

    The Track of My Tears
    Smokey Robinson

People say I'm the life of the party
Because I tell a joke or two
Although I might be laughing loud and hearty
    Deep inside I'm blue
So take a good look at my face
You'll see my smile looks out of place
If you look closer, it's easy to trace
    The tracks of my tears

    I need you, need you
Since you left me if you see me with another girl
    Seeming like I'm having fun
    Although she may be cute
    She's just a substitute
    Because you're the only one

I don't actually believe love  (between a man and a woman) exists outside of Hollywood movies and Mills and Boon novels.

My children love me, my wife serves me.

If you say you don't believe in love between a man and a woman you might be this. Also you state my children love me, didn't state you love them.

    How to spot a Sociopath:

    • Pathologic egocentricity and incapacity for love
    • Sex life impersonal, trivial, and poorly integrated
    • Superficial charm and good intelligence
    • Absence of delusions and other signs of irrational thinking
    • Untruthfulness and insincerity
    • Lack of remorse and shame
    • Unresponsiveness in general interpersonal relations
    • Lack of empathy or true feelings

and how old are you?  as for the '40 looks 30' I doubt it Thais women age very badly but that aside if there is a 15 year age gap +++  then of course you are the secure option but not the fun option and she could well have fun 'on the side'. What do you expect if you marry someone obviously much, much younger?  I'm not saying this WILL happen just that it could do... few drink... 30 something guy on the 'hunt'.  You will probably never know.  Thais aren't exactly 'ethically guided' now are they.

For someone who joined TV 2 months ago you have a lot to learn.  You may see older Thai women who are old looking but that is basically old generation who worked hard their entire lives in the fields. This generation and Hi-so  types don't age badly  unless they have been working bar and doing drugs for a long time.

Why should living in Thailand have a visit to Pattaya as a prerequisite? I wonder if every resident of the UK has been to London? There's rather more to Thailand than just Sin City - and before the comedians come out of the woodwork, yes I've been to both :whistling:.

Maybe not every resident of the UK has been to London but I am sure 95% of every visitor/expat has at least visited/check out London before setling down  somewhere else in the UK. Why would someone spend 30 years in Thailand and not check out many city/towns in the country including Pattaya?

What she did is pretty standard school girl giggles humour - nothing wrong with that as long as it's safe and doesn't lead to obvious problems with boys.  Thais are hypocrites as they make a fuss about these small things yet we have Pattaya etc.  and DON"T tell me there are 'Pattaya's'  in Europe or USA that's why everyone comes here (well 99% of blokes come here for that).

Agree with your comment they are making a mountain out of a molehill.  A few years ago I was walking around familiarising myself with how to get around Bangkok. Wasn't sure what bus went where or exactly where I was at so sat done for a min to rest before getting a cab. There were 2 school girls about 15 sitting across the street from me waiting for a bus. It was warm and they were like fluffing their skirts to get a little air under them. Suddenly they checked that no one else was around and lifted their skirts way up to show their panties. They then put them down and started laughing at my surprise/shock. I laughed shook my head and then caught a cab home. They were not hookers I was not a John and they were just teasing , no big deal.

Also be aware that since you are male, the authorities might want to know whether or not you have done your Thai military service, unless you are old enough to not have to worry about that any more (I think it's 30 or 40).

And while you can always enter Thailand even with an expired Thai passport, you can't leave Thailand on an expired Thai passport. As mentioned above, the Thai embassy in London should be able to provide you with a Thai passport - but I believe that Thai passports have a validity of five years, not ten. So you might be doing this a few times :)

The general rule for people who hold dual citizenship is to enter/leave Thailand on their Thai passport, and their other country of citizenship using that country's passport. Also, if you entered on one passport, you have to leave on that passport - so if you entered Thailand on an expired Thai passport, you would not be able to leave without getting a new Thai passport. And if you entered on a UK passport, you would have all the visa concerns that the rest of us have to deal with.

As ubonjoe says above, you would need to be registered in a Tabian Baan in order to get your ID card, and once you have that apply for the new passport. I am guessing that if you already had a Thai passport, are probably already registered in a Tabian Baan, and may have even had an ID card before. The Thai embassy should be able to help you sort those out anyway.

If you only want to visit Thailand for a short stay, you can still enter on your UK passport, and then maybe think about the other Thai documents while here in Thailand, although make sure that if you enter on your UK passport that you also leave on the same passport, or else your 'UK self' would be on overstay.

The age is 30 that they will no longer look for a  male to serve in the military . In the USA and I think the UK as well the op could petition the Thai embassy for an exemption to serve in the military as he is living overseas. The  person is  supposed to do that before his 21st birthday.

Its not illegal everywhere in US of America,  in some states its legal others turn a blind eye or don't engage entrapment techniques.

and in some states its legal to take drugs too  Tobacco, Alcohol and Marijuana !

You ever live in the US?   Prostitution is  illegal in "every " state in the US except a few rural counties in Nevada. It used to be legal in parts of Texas but no more.  Alcohol and tobacco are legal in every state but alcohol  may be banned in some towns. (Local ordinance ) Marijuana laws differ from state to state, some alow for medical reasons  others for recreational use and some banned.

  18. My friend just went back to USA last month. He never had a smart phone only a basic one there and really simple basic here. He got a Thai GF now so bought a Samsung (I think 7) about 8,000 baht  in IT Square and now uses it every day to message (text ) her and me as well as doing Line app chats/ calls ,  Video calls , FB messenger ect. His provider is AT+T in US.
