No Taiwan was never actually part of China until 1945 when the nationaists ruled the whole country and where they retreated to. China lies about Tibet being part of China, Taiwan, Mongolia, parts Of Nepal and India and of course the whole of Mt Everest, time they were called out on their outrageous territorial claims and agressive actions, well done the Indians.
Seem a large portion of Taiwan’s history is missing. History goes back to the 19th century when the Qing dynasty ruled Formosa and had a General Governor in control. Formosa ceded to Japan in 1897 after a series of battles in the mainland. China organized a militia to resist the Japanese from occupying the island but was futile. It was until 1945 that the allies agreed to allow China to take control of Taiwan from the defeated Japanese. The nationalist army lost the civil war and found refuge in Taiwan in 1949. The Taiwan constitution recognized the one China status. Hope the information useful.

Personally, I have always thought he was just a warmongering fool, but, hey, what would I know?
Not at all funny. He is still derided for his hawkish foreign policies including regime changes, termination of the Iran nuclear deal and his support for invading Iraq. Many still despise him but will read his book anyway. His memoir exposures of Trump's wrongdoings are up to the public to judge. Trump's vigorous attempt to block his book will make Bolton's book more believable and credible.

We might need the military to oust Biden from his basement at this rate. I lost count, what is it day 75 or 76 now? Hardly a show of charisma and strength is it?
He need not do anything much to beat Trump as the polls indicate. He can continue to take it easy in his basement. Let Trump self destruct strategy.

Those China hawks within the GOP must be mighty uncomfortable knowing that Trump supported the Uighurs detention camp. Their moral high ground over China's treatment of the Uighers seem undermined even with his 'damage control' bill.

BBC & DW as of yesterday. Maybe good time to migrate over to a fake news kerfuffle post.
This is the BBC’s report and was amicable in their reporting with headline indication that said ‘both sides tell their story’. Where you get yours?

The wide support for the protest does mean that there likely to be right leaning participation. With 2/3 US adults strongly support, my personal conclusion is that there are both left and right in the protests. Seem a fair conclusions
The poll further revealed lean Rep majority supported that George Floyd’s death was wronged and there are tension between black and police. Further reinforcing that your conclusion may be skewed.

NOW All this was deliberate, premeditated on the Chinese part.
The Indian soldiers come down and take it out (your words). How then can this be deliberate and premeditated by the Chinese. Surely the Indian soldiers were going there for a fight and were prepared for a fight. It surprised you that the Chinese had weapons in this highly tensed border area? Be real. This is not summer camp site. The Chinese lost soldiers too. It was an unfortunate brawl. Don't try to extend that to some kind of Chinese bashing.

This really is a ticking time bomb of exponential increase of infections. Thousands in-doors for up to 8 hours of vociferous and cheering with respiratory droplets flying all over the air from fervent supporters who will most probably followed Trump and not wearing masks. Will see if Trump will protect himself behind a plastic protective device. Me first policy.

He is also dumb bat sh.. stupid. He thought that Finland was part of Russia and didn't know UK had nuclear weapons. The book had a reference to Pompeo saying 'he is full of sh...'. He is no patriot; asking China to help in his re-election by buying more agriculture products and agreeing with China on the Uyghurs detention camps.

You know NOT what you are talking about, and what does this have to do with extradition hearing in Vanc. Canada?
Even S Korea has surpassed CN in 5G rollout/infrastructure.
5G-USA~https://www.t-mobile.com/devices/5g-phones
US has started 6G design, with deployment not before 2030.
A matter of interest; just who in US is developing 6G. On record, I know that Hua Wei and NTT DoCoMo are developing 6G and probably Oulu in Finland. Can you name the corporation/s.

Finally, another country willing to stand up to China.
Not really standing up to China but India standing their ground in an ill defined inhospitable territory. Pakistan's trading route with China will be cut off if India control that territory. As we speak, both countries are attempting a rapid deescalation of tensions. Just a small brawl. No firearms were used. No need for misdirected alarm.

The masks are really working then!
Yes it does. Comparing the number of re-infections at 20,000 and deaths 1,000 after US relaxed and less than 100 infections and no death in Beijing.

Both countries ill afford to go to war at the times of economic woes. None of both leaders issued any official comment. Just border skirmishes and will be sorted out relatively quickly.

Trump foreign policies have always been criticized for lack of a grand strategy - a coherent , long term plan. He really don’t have any strategy with his overtures to Kim. He was there for self gratification. Kim went with much expectation but now feel betrayed following the failed summits with POTUS. Kim entered those summits with an expectation of securing relief from a punishing economic sanctions but received none instead. In fact, US escalate the sanctions pressure and frustrate Kim who is now flexing his muscle to get Trump’s attention. Trump has done more harm than good in managing North Korea. US now have to rely on China to bring the tension down and as we speak, Pompeo is in the Far East for talks with the Chinese. I feel North Korea will escalate the tension more and likely to see fire fights.

John Bolton's book, will be followed by Mary Trump's, Donalds niece. By now we know the plot, but they delve deeper; Boltons into incompetence, personal benefit, and US foreign relations/policy. Mary's a more personal work on how he manipulated his tax returns, to profit from bankruptcy after bankruptcy of business ventures.
BTW the book is printed, already shipped so it is coming out. No way POTUS can stop it. What it is does show is Ukraine style malfeasance around the world. Giving aid if he, POTUS gets aid or info, against his enemies; quid pro quo . All from a hard line, ex Bush.jr., Republican, clearly fed up with the current regime.
As I find myself am staying home this rainy season, both look to be required reading.
June 23rd, date to watch for book release. Timing about right for marketing blitz or the book will be redundant after November.

In other words, either you didn't know the real definition, or you lied.
Ah, the quintessential of lie is a noble art form of Trump in his whole adult life. Surely you know that or you are lying; again.

It is saying something that you know not to be true at the time of saying it
If you say that you are going to do something in the future that you fully intend to do , if you dont end up doing it , that wouldn't actually be a lie .
Your idiosyncratic alternative definition of lie is as good as Giuliani’s “truth is not truth”. Can’t get better than that but sir you did surpassed.

You don’t know it’s masked, you’re also assuming everyone at the Trump rally won’t wear masks, if trump had an outdoor rally you guys would hyperventilate just the same, and a waiver is normal in a litigious nation like the USA.
But keep on with the crying about rallies though. It’s expected.
You got me. However I am positively 100% sure that Trump will not wear one. Just imagine some not wearing mask because they trust and follow their master and all raising the voices in unison to cheer directing their respiratory droplets towards Trump. Does Trump has a waiver too.
