Please bring back the pointing
How else are these kids going to learn if they are not publicly humiliated?
Hopefuy we just have to wait for a conviction ?
They will be told not to do it again. A complaint will probably be lodged stating they were humiliated by not have the finger pointing session. Fune of Baht 500 and go home.

The information has been getting shared for years. The number of times I have been called by companies that I have never contacted you wouldn't believe. The only way they would have obtained my number was if someone gave it them and I certainly did not give it.

I fail to understand the parents in this. If that was my daughter the teacher would know what retribution was all about. I can only assume the parents believe, or gave some hope, that the Police will do the job they are paid for. Now that would be a miracle

Typical, Nobody wants to take responsibility, neither the School, the Teacher,or the Police,
This has just about destroyed the poor girl's life, maybe just maybe, putting the story out,
the young girl can get justice, and the teacher punishment, jail would be a good place for him.
regards worgeordie
This, in my opinion, is a situation were Street justice is called for.

As you said in ID 11 blatant lies is exactly what the tourist industry needs so imagine the lovely adverse publicity if tourists pick up the infection in the face of govt ' nothing wrong ' assurances.
Probably blame the tourists for contracting it outside of Thailand.

Illegal business should be shut down but I notice they are only considering the foreigners in, what about the Thai's who are acting as as front?

Maybe I am wrong but it seems that you are thinking of the USA as it to was when you left it. Sure the police, medical etc are dependable whilst here in Thailand it tent it tents a bit of a hit and miss affair. The US will andffairlso have changed in the time you have been away. Maybe a trip back for a while to see a doctor then decide.

I know what you mean but I'm thinking there may be some intending tourists who don't know how things work here and may be fooled into believing a govt wouldn't mislead about something so potentially serious.
Aah they have a lot to learn Grasshopper.
I am sure that is what they are counting on

" Disclosing information might damage the tourism industry " is a dangerous statement but only to be expected however the authorities have set themselves up as no one will believe anything they say now.
I didn't think anyone believed them anyway. Let tourists come to an infected area by withholding information. This is exactly what the tourism industry needs; blatant lies

They will do what they want as they know the police are not going to do a damn thing about it.
I am surprised only 2 attacked the guy. Usually these 'hard men' need at least 5 others.
You have things like this happening and people wonder why Thailand gets a bad rap?

Assuming you mean removed from the resort - as somebody else pointed out, that could be a very dangerous move indeed....

Doing nothing and expecting to get paid for it is a Thai reserved occupation

Last month I was talking to a Thai English matayom teacher, speaking good English.
He told me more than half of his students were not interested in learning English, and quite a lot of them refused to learn English.
Must be said most of them boys.
Their motivation was Thai was enough, this is Thailand, etc.
With Thailand the centre of the universe why would they need English?

Is a "telephone signalling tower" a transmission mast? I gave worked in telecommunications a long time but never heard the description given in the OP

Never had a problem with CW immigration. I have always found them to be very helpful

I used to live outside banglamung but we would only go into Pattaya for shopping and definitely would be out of there before evening. It is a dangerous place and everyone knows it yet nothing I'd done to clean it up.
When the tourists finally enough is enough the Thai's have only themselves to blame.
For those who say it happens everywhere go crawl back under your stone. Because something happens in other countries does not justify it.

Here is something I was not aware of until I had a chat with a pharmacist and that is they only need 1 year of training to open a pharmacy. Very scary in my opinion. In the UK it is 7 years before they are considered fully qualified.
