Of course I have to agree with your comment . If Thailand wishes to progress as a progressive country changes need to be made . That is one that could make a difference to many unfortunate enough to be involved with an accident and be refused insurance as they had no licence . Of course not forgetting the inexperienced riders that are killed or badly injured .

We are all forced to be thrill seekers even if we don't want to be . The roads are adequate, the quality of driving is far from it . Regarding the motorcycle test it was a joke from start to finnish. The joke continued when the price for the license was 105 baht . Why the 5 baht ??? The cashier says have you got 5 baht . I have not I answered, rather irritated she hunts for change . I am not surprised she was short of change.

You raise a good point on why are foreigners taken to a private hospital rather than a government hospital in the first instance . I think i know the reason and that is for the ambulance personell receive a remittence for bringing in the prey for the private hospital . I was involved in an accident on a motorcycle where I wa taken to a private hospital . I remember nothing about how i arrived there . When i realised more what was going on i asked to be taken to a goverment hospital and that was done . Yet there was a 28,000 baht invoice given for nothing more than laying on a bed for 12 hours . I learnt that according to law if a person is unconcious then the ambulance staff are obliged to take you to the nearest government hospital .

Mysterious death: Australian tourist found dead in police station cell
itsari replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Off his head was not written in the article and I never saw where there had been a test made while alive on the deceased regarding being intoxicated . -
Good news the young man is back home and slowly recovering. I would like to see more responsibility placed on businesses that hire out motorcycle's to people with no license .

Electricity authority clears 5,000 baht bill for unoccupied house
itsari replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand News
The social media is becoming the only way to bring authorities to a correct decision . The social media which means facebook in Thailand seems to have more freedom than more traditional news papers in my opinion . -
I believe that there was a surge in tourists after the three years of covid travel restrictions were lifted . Not forgeting the help from the surge in Russians avoiding the call up . From now on with high airfares , bad air and dodgy policeman Thailand will struggle to have the number of tourists to match precovid .

I have had a price from a company in China with a price of 450000 baht for a 10 kw hybrid system . That would include delivery to Bangkok port and no taxes paid . There would be no fitting of the solar system either. With taxes and fitting being extra one could save 200,000 baht instead of using local solar businesses. But there is a lot more risk involved.
-
A hybrid system in Thailand will not pay for themselves until 8 years and then you will by then be needing to upgrade the batteries, invertors etc . I have had prices for a 10 kw hybrid system costing 850000 baht fitted. With a cost of electricity from the grid for myself being around 70000 per annum I do not see the 3 years you speak of . I see 8 years and be ready to spend a significant sum at the end of the 8 years . There is also more maintenance than cleaning the solar panels as things do go wrong .

With so much equipment you would need full time a caretaker just for keeping the system operating . -
Hot weather blamed for increased power consumption and charges
itsari replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Thereis some deception with the blaming of the hot weather as the real price for electricity has risen by 15 percent at least . Just blame the weather OK -
Resort Owner Shocked As Power Bill Soars Over 700,000 Baht
itsari replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand News
The price increase in electricity is being piled onto the large users of electricity . With an election coming up i can understand the motive why small users are not seeing any dramatic price increases . -
Resort Owner Shocked As Power Bill Soars Over 700,000 Baht
itsari replied to webfact's topic in Eastern Thailand News
Solar would not help as the investment required would outweigh any savings for some years .
