I saw this yesterday, it’s may be of some interest. it’s a chrome extension. I haven’t checked it out yet.

I don’t see the angle on being dependent on searching one single website for your content.

This extension will search the whole web for whatever you want without touching a ad and popup loaded website.

I am sorry but from what I can see, it doesn't provide anything like the ability of the other website to give me free downloads of movies, TV series, TV programs, music, books and games.  I have set it up so I get no pop ups or ads.

To the original poster - there are new ways to get stuff done. After the Pirate Bay and similar sites, there was the News Groups (Usenet). Now there is Telegram for lots of stuff and things like Netflix for movies that cost so little it's not worth looking for media content elsewhere.

If it's software, I would put forward that there are better ways - including paying a subscription as well as other means

What are you looking for, @lelapin?

Old TV programs from various countries, books (audio and visual) and music.

I have an android box so movies, TV series and live programs are no  problem.

After following suggestion from above, all is OK now. Thanks OneMoreFarang

If, as you imply, your computer is several years old then it will probably be best to replace it. I would assume the internal problem can be repaired but it may need a new motherboard depending upon what the problem actually is.

If this is the case a new laptop will be the best way way to go as the repair could be very costly

Thanks for the advice. It is 6 years old.

  4. I have successfully linked my laptop to my TV for several years now. Last week we had a severe local thunderstorm and the link no longer works. I had an older back up computer and managed to link that successfully, so I assumed it was not a problem linked to the TV but was associated with the laptop. I checked all the various settings which seemed OK so called an engineer to come round. After 15 minutes of testing, he said it was to do with my HDMI port/ internal computer board and could not be repaired.

Does anyone have a constructive comment on this as it sounds to me like a hardware problem that could be repaired. I know my next step is to take it to an IT shop but with the current Covid problems and me being old and sick, I wondered if any Thai Visa IT specialist had any ideas that might make that trip unnecessary.

  5. I arrived at both countries with the intention of staying there permanently, at very different stages in my life.

My post was intended to show how I was able to cope with the various stresses imposed by Thai immigration on an ex-pat relatively well, as I was able to compare the mental pressures I experience now with those that I had had as an ex-pat earlier in my life.

I forgot  (well I am over 80) that when posting on Thai Visa, the content you present will be examined as if it is evidence in a court being examined by a prosecutor.

My intention was not to compare the various rules of each country, particularly 60 years apart, but to explain why even though they are sometime annoying, I am able to cope with the rules applied to an ex-pat living in Thailand.

I am sorry if my post was misinterpreted and I will try to be more careful in the future with my posts.

  6. I read countless posts on Thai Visa forums of ex-pats who complain at the problems and inconveniences caused by Thailand Immigration rules and regulations.

In 1963 at the age of 22, I emigrated from England to the United States.

After I had been there only 6 months, I was called up for a medical and told I would be drafted into the US army and be sent to Vietnam.

I know which countries immigration rules I have found the hardest to comply with.

You need to check which speakers are in use.

If you click on the speaker symbol, normally in the bottom right hand corner and click on it.

There should be an inverted chevron and click on that, there should be 2 options, the computer built in speakers something like High definition Audio, and the TV - AMD HDMI output. Select the latter when you want the TV.

I tried that and only got

  10. I have successfully linked my TV to my laptop (Windows 10) via HDMI cable for a while and suddenly yesterday the sound is no longer working from the TV and only coming from the laptop. The picture is still fine on the TV. Any ideas how to solve the problem?

  11. Starting a couple of days ago, I have been bombarded on my Facebook page with sponsored ads on how to make lots of money in Thailand. I have deleted each ad and blocked the sponsor but then shortly afterwards I get a similar ad from a different named sponsor. Any knowledgeable suggestions how to stop this happening.

  12. My 5 year renewal comes up 1st May. Current one has a 4 digit one. How do I update online with my new 6 digit one. I can only access my a/c online with current card until end of this month. Can I access it online with old card on last day of this month and change to new 6 digit PIN which I then start using in May.
