  1. Expat tourist cop stopping tourists. I think this is what they told him to do.

I think the really sad thing is that they are wasting time on such petty things when they could use there time to really make a difference.

    Difference like what?

Checking for STD's and then curing it.

  2. I never knew that Karla Homokla moved to Thailand..

"Karla Leanne Homolka, also known as Karla Leanne Teale and Leanne Bordelais, is a convicted Canadian serial killer who helped her husband rape and murder at least three women.."

Your point is.......? Considering she only got a slap on the wrist after ratting out her mate. 3 women??? <NOT>

  3. Ask any pig farmer from the american mid-west to eastern timbuktu. = You can loose a lot of money with pigs. While the statement of GF "you can not loose money with pigs" stands correct, if one is willing and (financially) able to sick with it for 10 years.

Since the Thai-Mentality is not geared for long term-thinking, (unless having chinese ancestrial roots and chinese upbringing) at the first sign of adversity, they will throw in the towel and OP will be faced with a 100 % write off in the magnitude of 500'000 Bht

Generally: Small to mid-sized Farmers in Thailand will gladly confirm: "There is no money in Farming".

OP has 2 ways to disperse of 500'000 Bht:

    - Engage in pig- business and loose 500'000 Bht and write a book titled "How I lost 500'000 Bht in Thailnd with pigs" OR;

    - How I engaged 500 Hostesses in Thailand and I had the time of my life.

The financial result of both avenues will be the same: All the money gone !

But witch book title would sell better than the other? biggrin.png

    Cheers.

Lose lose lose is that all this thread is going to say....??? Well so what it is only $15,000 dollars not much to lose at all. I say go for it but limit the cash outlay beyond the 500,000 TBT mark. If it is micro managed it will fail because there will be to many bosses or fingers in the pie. Do your own research and buy a few piglets get some fencing get set to slop some hogs.

  4. I wonder how they define children, are they children of the women or teenagers who have decided they want to join and kill someone ?

If the former then the women deserve to be shot for taking kids into that dangerous place.

Considering it is 1 man 4 women and 11 children. I would suspect it is all one family. Men can have 4 wives under Sharia law. That makes me believe there is one idiot leader and 15 followers.

  5. Bail when charged with murder? Amazing Thailand!

Amazing indeed. But a "courtesy" quite commonly extended to Thai heavyweights, who then frequently disappear or drag their cases through the judicial process for decades, while enjoying their opulent lifestyles.

Small fry, on the other hand, usually rot in jail for years for picking mushrooms in the wrong place, until they can prove their innocence.

This guy is far from small fry but on the right side of the fence. Business 10 yrs, creates employment. self defence, bail was a given

  6. I mind only my own business everyone else's is of no interest to me.

Ah, another poster with the same mindset as me. Anyone else?

People with several thousand posts do NOT mind their own business, specially on ThaiVisa clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

Very true, but I'm referring to where Thai people are concerned, and Farangs staying safe through minding their own business.

I have decided to not get involved in this topic. I am ignoring it all.mfr_closed1.gif

  7. In the US, each state has its own court system to enforce state laws. The US Feds have a court system with a courthouse in almost every sizeable town. They of course enforce federal law. This is a federal beef resulting if convicted in federal prison, not state prison.

There is no parole in the federal system. I wouldn't be surprised to see more charges added after he's in custody in the US. Unlawful flight to avoid prosecution under U.S. Code § 1073 is just one that comes to mind.

If convicted this guy is going to get about 20 years and serve every day of it.

Fed prisons are 5 star compared to state prisons. White collar crimes get the private cottages and look after parks

  8. lol ..... geeeezzee , 1000 baht , I spend half that at breakfast ..

I fly into Bangkok a couple of times a month and usually stay at the VIP suite in either the Marriot or the Sheraton, depending on which is available.

I budget around 4,000 baht a day spending money, which seems to be adequate as I usually only have a few hundred baht left at the end of each day.

I suppose you could survive on 1,000, but not me ....

I like my lobster every now and then ..... coffee1.gif

You must be AMERICAN....... Typical braggart xsick.gif.pagespeed.ic.tVTSNn-2vrViiesVr !!

  9. Why has Indonesia turned so blood thirsty? Drug crimes just DO NOT deserve the death penalty.

That's your opinion, which you're entitled to.

    Many disagree.

Either legalize drugs, or remove the death penalty completely, or remove death sentences for drug offences, or if you keep it, and people are convicted and sentenced then it has to be carried out.

Countries that have the death penalty for drugs make no secret of it. Those breaking the law no the risks and are prepared to take them.

There is also many of the opinion that life in prison is worse then a death sentence

  10. Funny this popped up, I was talking to a Thai colleague today who was bemoaning the new colour blindness / peripheral vision test.

He failed, but apparently can go to the hospital to get a certificate of some sort and they will issue a licence, "This guy is blind, please issue a driving licence".

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't being color blind a fail anywhere in the world.????

  11. For decades it is the same thing year after year. They get money to hold a meeting and talk about it and then it's beer o'clock and nothing is ever done or will ever be done. All they organise is the food and drinks for next year's meeting.

Boggles the mind why they don't just put the fires out which they claim are illegal and I believe there is a rat reward to finger the fire starters.

  12. Gen. Prayut: I am not a dictator. It's not like I can order people.

"I must say I ban any march. I will order police to prevent such activities."

He wil have to order police as there is currently no civil law that forbids such assembly. What's the point of having martial law if you can't bend it to your advantage? With the new constitution, there will be a civil ban on such activities that police can enforce on their own. Thailand will then become a constitutional police state then.

Go ahead Gen. light that fuse to your grand finale........

  13. It's a miracle!! Once more, the polls show the public agrees with the junta before the junta even publicizes their specific position on an issue. This is psychic non-exclusivity! If this kind of Holy Thainess only existed throughout the world, those upstarts like the Dubai Devil would never work to advance themselves and defy the blessed stagnant social order! Look! Celebrate! Now, the public is involved in the decisions being made before the decisions are even made. Wow!!! All you nay-sayers, go back to your foolish dreams of dysfunctional democracy. Let us all pray for reconciliation through an autocratic theocracy. Amen, and amen. This is another omen!

PM General Prayuth is the Messiah, and a Bodhisattva of the highest order! Since he's Buddhist, I bet in a previous life he even wrote Auld Lang Syne, and now is finally getting credit for his past work. Now, that's what I want -- a retroactively creative reincarnated messiah who will stand up for all the people and punch a satanic reporter in the face!

I done been converted! Praise the Lord Buddha and pass the hand grenades!

Huh?? FF?? Wha he say?? Wa U sey? What U Meen???

  14. only the medical report should be considered in regards to a rape of an eight year old girl and investigate why he did so only after returning from a temple stay .

because watching there porn day and night?

Makes me wonder what kind of abuse the 15 year old may have encountered during his novice exercises at the temple. Seems to me that he thought make belief marriage made actual foreplay and eventual intercourse acceptable. 15 years old neighbours and playmates??? What is the mental age of the 15 year old. Geez!

  15. "felt like punching a reporter for asking him a question he disliked"

And this guy is a PM???

As a matter of fact, no, he's not a Prime Minister at all. He just calls himself that.

He is and if you think he's not then maybe you need a punch to wake yourself up you wally.

Is that what you believe is a legitimate PM????? One who takes over militarily then sheds his uniform and stacks parliament with his cronies and then has them vote him in as the be all end all PM GET REAL and you better wake up. Your still watching a movie unfold that still has the editing department hard at the script. The action filled finale has yet to come!!!!
