  1. £60Bn...

Scaremongering, but we will have commitments, many of the EU projects last for years and if funding was agreed and budgeted for while we were a member then only rightly we should continue to contribute our share, but some of these projects are in the UK so much of that money would be flowing back to the UK. there are many institutes funded by the EU that it makes sense to to remain in if the EU allows and we will have to contribute towards their financing.

There are other schemes that that pays money to farmers, land owners, and many other industries that will cease to receive money from the EU and the UK government will have to plug the gap .

But when it gets down to the "nitty gritty" any exit fee will have to be justified and no way can they justify £60Bn...

Of course the people were afraid. Why do you think one lady was so terrified she jumped off the bridge into the River Thames.

I am not sure she jumped... having witnessed a RTA where a young girl crossing the road at a zebra crossing was tossed in the air like a rag doll, and actually walked away from it I was thinking this woman may have been thrown over the bonnet of the car and over the parapet of the bridge.

    Just googled this...

A woman who plunged into the Thames during Wednesday’s terror attack did not jump from Westminster Bridge to escape the attacker’s car, but was instead hurled into the water by the force of the vehicle, a senior diplomat has said.

Andreea Cristea, a 29-year-old Romanian architect, was spotted in the river soon after the attack. In the confusion that followed, there was speculation that Ms Cristea had leaped from the bridge to escape the violence.

But Romanian ambassador Dan Mihalache said Ms Cristea had been “practically thrown” into the river by the car.

I have been trying to find out how Andreea Cristea is but there has been no news for a week now, last statement said:  "is in critical but stable condition"

    Do hope she pulls through.

It seems that loads of superrich kids who drive sportscars come to London a lot. The arabs even bring 3 cars with them just for a weekend london. They race those things like idiots, pay the fines with a smile and make all hardworking people look stupid.

The london jetset is not what it was in the past.

I know one hotel in London where the hotel car park has more Arabic script number plates than GB plates, bet they do not pay the congestion charges.

An attempt to show off their prowess at dawn assaults went badly wrong for a unit of heavily armed British Royal Marines at the weekend when they accidentally invaded the wrong country.

The platoon of some 30 marines stormed from a landing craft on to the San Felipe beach in the Spanish town of La Linea, carrying 60mm mortars and SA80 assault rifles, and took up defensive positions on the sand.

Instead of being fired on with blank rounds by fellow British soldiers pretending to be the enemy, the marines found themselves being stared at by startled local fishermen.

Also the UK looses face a lot by letting guys like him hide in their capital.

Why has everybody forgotten that within 5 minutes he had another person who claimed he was the driver during the accident?

He should just get rid of this, go to Thailand and go see the judge..after that his name is clean and he can enjoy his money/life.

Fact is he has not been convicted of anything...

Unfortunately our Immigration guidelines for refusing entry does not cover those evading justice in another country, though I think missed court appearances on manslaughter charges should be a good reason to refuse entry or cancel any visa he has but without a revision of our guidelines to the UK immigration officers this is not going to happen.

I was very upset by this article...

When I realised it was an April Fools post. :crying:

Upset, I thought it was a very clever and intelligent trap for the unwary -- it would seem it has done that very successfully.

    Did not fool me...

Yet this was a perfect opportunity to curtail this excuse for shear madness and mayhem, given Thailand is still in mourning.

I would also say 55% turn out for the Scottish General Election as being very low especially compared to 85% turnout for the Scottish Independence Referendum, seems to me those who did not vote are not interested in Scottish self rule.

and a 71% turn out in Scotland for the 2015 United Kingdom General Election.

Yes, you are quite right - I incorrectly used the word population when I should have used voters who expressed their democratic right to vote. Then again, I was a little off in my numbers too, must be too much sun. So, 20% if you include every man, woman and child, yes.

If they want to protect the reefs they should ban all of the sewage being pumped in to the ocean.

I thought they were going to transform pattaya from party city into a sport and nature tourist destination. So this is done by closing a sport and nature based industry.

    BRILLIANT!

Human wast is probably only a small fraction of the content of untreated wast water that gets pumped out to sea, I understand there may be an issue with some sewage plants being out of action and there not being enough of them, so just pumping wast straight out to sea, but there is probably a lot more animal wast washed of the land or just hosed out of intensive farm sheds straight into rivers that flow into the sea untreated, and do not forget fish do more than just piss in the sea...

In actual fact the reefs depend on this as food, but there again too much can kill the reefs.

But if you really do not want to swim in human sewage, find an un-populated island hundreds miles from any populated land or island.

    • Which Election?
    • Please name the parties you class as pro-Independence?

I was a bit over exuberant in my figures - my apologies.  With regards to the Scottish Parliamentary Elections of 2016, I quoted the figures incorrectly:

The SNP got 46.5% of the constituency vote and 41.7% of the regional vote.

The Greens got 0.6% of the constituency vote and 6.6% of the regional vote.

    The are both pro-independence.

    SNP 1,059,897 Votes

    Scottish Greens 13,172 Votes

    = 1,073,069 for so called pro-Independence parties

The population of Scotland in 2011 was 5,295,000

Just to remind you, I asked the above question in reply to your quote:

more than half the population voted for pro-independence parties at the last election

No way can you count 20% as "more than half"...
