  1. Once again, at what point am I sticking up for him? I am calling you out as you posted a big picture of him telling people to run him over. Is that not also schoolboy behaviour? And to repeat myself one more time, I am not him, live anywhere near Phuket or even hang out with westerners for that matter.
  2. What was I wrong about exactly? I don't understand how people don't realize that I am not defending him. He can be wrong and the lady can make a bigger scene about the issue than it is. They are not mutually exclusive. What I am getting at, which unfortunately seems to be taking over this thread, is that people are ridiculously judgmental on here. You are judge jury and executioner before hearing all of the facts. It's not going to make me any friends, but sometimes hearing the truth hurts. Sure the guy was wrong, he acted like a complete idiot, but the woman has made this what to me is a nothing event, and my opinion wont change on that, in to something national. That was my thought at the start of the thread and remains the case now after seeing the video. A storm in a teacup.
  3. Okay. I'll bite. Have you ever acted in a way that you are not proud of? Was that your true character or did you make an excuse for your actions (had a tough time recently, financial worries, relationship worries etc)? Do you deserve to have people promoting causing seriously bodily injury or even death to you because of that moment? I'm not perfect and I don't expect anyone else to be, but some posters on here must never have put a foot wrong in their lives based on their over the top reactions to something as trivial as this. I'd expect this man regrets his actions and knows he should have approached it differently now. If he doesn't then that says a lot about him.
  4. Check through all of my previous messages on different threads and point out where I have said anything to the like. I don't join baying mobs like others. Its quite ironic that I get called a hypocrite when posters are spewing vitriol at the man who caused no actual harm by wishing harm on him (being beaten up by the doctors boyfriend, please run him over etc).
  5. My response is that the woman is on a mission to make the man pay for her losing face. It was still effectively a nothing incident. She was not injured in the slightest.
  6. After watching his video I believe his reaction was over the top which I don't condone, but I still fail to see where this physical assault is.
  7. I never said it was not his fault. I meant we needed to hear more than one side of the story before making judgements. I hate the 'guilty until proven innocent mob'. Whether it's a westerner, Thai, man, woman or even people I don't like, it doesn't matter.
  8. I think you need to get back on your medication if you think that's the case and also take your rose tinted glasses off. Do you seriously believe everything a person says without any evidence at all? If so, you are a dangerous person, not me.
  9. Next you'll be saying hurting your feelings is assault. If I was in the doctors shoes and got pushed for sitting on someone's private property I'd apologise and feel bad for doing wrong. You clearly do care what I think or you wouldn't have got your knickers in a twist.
  10. So you just believe everything that she says? Where are the pictures of her injuries if he actually assaulted her? If some sort of evidence is given I'd lean more to her side, but it sounds like all she wants to do is smear the couple.
  11. I'll await the added defamation case to be made against her by bringing his name and the sanctuary into disrepute. We really need to hear his side and see his video showing the physical assault. No doubt it was just a push, and if it was, her 'poor me, I'm an innocent doctor' doesn't cut it with me.
  12. When I think of Hua Hin I think of a nice beach that is difficult to get on due to the hotels right on the front and the big main road running through the center of it full of traffic. Its too busy and crammed for a beach getaway.
  13. I cant help that I feel more sorry for the wildlife than the people in these regions.
  14. I never donate to these people, but that doesn't mean I should dissuade others. I don't really have the money to be helping others, but some have a lot more cash and may want to help a person in need. I doubt we are all perfect here and have been stupid at times. What's the phrase, those in glass houses...
  15. Why don't they save everyone the hassle and just add speed bumps? I hate it when traffic lights are added that do not consider the amount of traffic at a junction. Slow them down. A simple roundabout would also solve the issue if people cared enough to use them properly.
  16. I could be wrong, but I thought people buy them as they are light and dry easily. They also allow you to stay relatively cool while covering your skin for the temples. The uni students in my area wear them and look very nice. I could never wear them though as I'd look a tit.
  17. Apparently no alcohol was served at the concert, and many were also complaining about there being too many Chinese present.
  18. I took about 5,000 baht in 10 baht coins to ttb and the lady counted every single one of them. I wasn't expecting that in this day and age. What made things worse is that for every 100 baht (I think), she had to put them in the small plastic bags. I just give them to the in laws now to spend at the local market.
  19. Do you also call footwear feet gloves? Back to the topic though the main place I see centipedes is around the sandals/shoes outside. I always give them a quick kick in case one is hiding. I learned quickly not to pick the shoes up as an adult one went for me. I've found them very difficult to kill. I usually use a hoe, but it's still difficult to detach the head.
  20. Thanks for the suggestions Proton. As I live in Central Thailand, nobody really knows of a Northern music scene as such. With quite a few expats living in that area I hope some will be able to explain further. Even isaan music is not that popular in my province, but I'm finding lots of that on YouTube. As you seem really into your music and you have shared a few of her songs, here's a cover of a classic that I think Lamyai sings very well. She also looks very cute.
  21. Does anyone have any recommendations of modern-ish Northern Thai music?
  22. Thanks. It's nice to know the name of the genre. I've only heard the following song by Baowee before which I thinks quite catchy.
  23. I thought I'd share one that was recommended to me recently. I rather enjoyed it. I'm also not sure what the rules are here. Can we ask for translations to certain parts? There's a different song I like, but I and Google translate dont understand some of the lyrics.
  24. It's now the 20th and diesel is still the same price as before. Did they change their minds?
  25. If you genuinely believe these girls intended to offend and not comply then you are deluded. This is a modern equivalent of a witch hunt and a completely over the top reaction to what could have been resolved on the spot. The person who reported this should hang their head in shame. Buddha would be very disappointed in their actions.
