    I'd also appreciate an update from someone who has used the trains recently. I haven't been on a sleeper train since before covid. First class in our own room was not a problem. Second class we saw the inspectors telling people they could not drink on the way out, but there was no problem at all on our return journey. We took wine and whisky in our flasks and had no problems as we weren't drinking to get drunk or acting like children.

    The thing is, the ban doesn't stop drunkards getting drunk on a train. They will have their khao khao in water bottles. It affects normal people who just want a beer or two on a long train journey.

    I think they play sports at a generally high standard, but struggle to meet the international standard. I guess investment, or lack of, is one of the problems. It's also very hot here. Would you fancy going for a run every day in this heat while being forced to spend hours upon hours in the classroom? Their families may also not see sport as a career and force their children to study subjects they don't want to.

    I've rang them a few times and had a call back from an English speaker within 5 minutes each time. The inspection video was all done in English too. I guess it's the luck of the draw.

    My wife used to tell me to let them off as they are old. I then responded that I thought older people were meant to get more respect in Thai culture as they are meant to be wiser. She now feels the same as me. I normally give the queue cutters a nasty stare, followed by telling them they are not polite or not a good person if need be.

    My annoyance comes from the servers not caring which drink to pour. For example, on Monday my friend had a Singha reserve and I has a Singha, they pour his beer into mine. Or last week I changed from a Leo to a Singha and they top my half full Leo glass up with Singha. It's like beer is just beer to some of them. It's all the same but with a different packaging.

    To me, Thai massages are painful and I come out aching more than when I went in. Oil massages are much better for relaxation.

    I'd have thought any minor additional expense like this would be offset by the savings made from not having to transport their kids to school.

    While watching the video, I wanted to get out of the car and face him for kicking the car like that. It must have been hard not to open that door or at least drive over his bike. I do wonder though what is considered acceptable force in a situation like this. If he's kicking your car in, is it reasonable to drive into his bike as a means of leaving the aggressor or are you just expected to sit there like a muppet?

    I believe it yes, as I hear it from women of all ages. As I am now past 40 though, I'm guessing I will start to hear it less and less over time, especially if I get fat or lose my hair.

    I go through phases with them. I normally make my own coffee, but tao bin is a good option if you ask me when you can't be bothered dealing with people. The coffee tastes fine, not top quality but better than the cheap roadside Thai coffee places using condensed milk.

    Your response to my comment is what makes it go off topic. The mods can remove it if they don't like criticism to this rubbish. But based on what the computer is trying to tell us, my thought is the police will sort it out soon enough. Either that or the 'renegade gang' will get bored after a while. I hate bike noise though, unless it's a decent performance bike that is.

    I expect what people want is for the reports to be clear. I don't think that's too much to ask in journalism. I read this current news and the words end up taking over the story rather than having the reader focusing on the meaning. It's poor AI.

    I, as I assume everyone else, have grown up with this and do not have the mental defects you talk of. I would say this is more about education and parenting.

    There was no VAT applied to my recent package that I accidentally bought from China. I've ordered another product from China now to see what the deal is. I won't get it til next week though. I can't help laugh that I normally try to not buy from Chinese sellers, but the new government policy actually motivated me to do so on this occasion.

    I thought we have that here too to renew the road tax after 5 years. It may not be as strict though.
