  1. It was initially meant to be tongue in cheek, but then F1 is expensive. I can't quite see weekend grandstand tickets costing 5,000 baht as with MotoGP. The 20-25% discount was also interesting for PT card members. Hopefully as a Shell user, I'd get an F1 discount if I wear a Ferrari top 😉
  2. I can see it already: Thai price 2,000 baht, foreigner price 10,000 baht. Seriously though, I'd love there to be a race in or around BKK, which has the hotels and transport system to support the teams, media and fans.
  3. When I went to the similan islands last year, most didn't wear their life jackets. We were told insurance would be void without one, but people don't travel half way around the world to crystal clear waters to put a safety vest on. Where is the excitement in that?
  4. It would be more interesting to hear from Cambodia's government. It's clear Thailand will say it's theirs (which to me it is), but unless Cambodia's government is really trying to make a claim then it's a non story.
  5. I honestly can't remember but both near me west of Bangkok and the one on Rama 2 are definitely cashless only. They say you can pay with a credit card instead, but that doesn't exactly help. I used to enjoy their meatball sandwiches, but it's not worth the hassle now.
  6. Stopped going after they refused to accept cash. They can reap what they sow.
  7. So is diesel going down in price or just staying the same for us who buy it? I was hoping it'd be going below 30 again.
  8. I think once it goes dark, the real danger on the road is how dark people's window tints are on their cars, in my area at least. It's frightening how little you can see through a dark tint. It doesn't really matter how much you drink if you can't see out of your car.
  9. I think the government openly sacrificed the Thai motor industry by allowing the influx of Chinese EV vehicles. I see China is not happy as European countries are now ready to apply high taxes on these imports too, to protect their own industries.
  10. I remember back when it happened and I effectively stated they were making a mountain out of a molehill, some posters were getting very angry at me. I then got accused of knowing him or even being him just because I wasn't blinded by rage like them. Its pathetic really.
  11. I'd say it's more about driving style than size of the car, but the bigger cars are more likely to drive aggressively from experience. At the same time, you have people driving them really slowly like the mum's in Fortuners and grandad or his wife in a pick up.
  12. Why was the ambulance hogging the right hand lane when there was no one to the inside? This along with him probably driving slowly (the speed limit), I expect is what upset the driver.
  13. I will look down on you too until you learn the saying is 'couldn't care less'... I'm not the biggest complainer but the food does go back if they get my order wrong to the point I can't eat it. I've had hair in my food a few times recently, which is clearly not mine. I don't make a big deal out of it, but the staff are usually very embarrassed and sort it out.
  14. As most fatalities include bikes, I'd say no. There seems to be a lot more speed cameras around now on the larger roads that I think are starting to make people in cars slow down a bit. The current speed limit of 80/90 on most sections of these roads is simply too low though. As people slow down for the cameras and speed back up again, all they do in my opinion is generate money and cause traffic jams. A steady 110/120 would work a lot better in my opinion.
  15. Top it up in 7-eleven with the card.
  16. So many snitches nowadays over such little things. God forbid someone has a bit of fun, harming no one in the process.
  17. Bad parenting is also a factor in my situation too. No dad involved and her mum dumped her with the grandparents. As my lady expects so much (she's well educated), I guess it was only a matter of time before the respect was gone and things went downhill, I've done similar to you by trying to get her to consider how she acts and what she says, for over a year now, but it hasn't helped in my situation.
  18. Yeah. I'm in that position at the moment but won't be for much longer. Constant disrespect for being a caring person, and it is in my mind it's an abusive relationship. Just need to plan a time to get my things out of the house and I'm gone.
  19. That's already covered in the thread and irrelevant anyway. It's just a normal incident for the roads here, but a westerner is involved so it makes the news. I don't see the big deal to be honest.
  20. Your religion has little to do with it. I think people want to harm you due to you not doing your job and not making London a safer place to live. Victimising motorists isn't going to help your cause either.
  21. Sure. Don't get me wrong, they deserve to be locked up when carrying a weapon with intent. There's no sensible reason to be carrying a machete or hunting knife in built up areas.
  22. If you are not their target, its not that bad, and these things mostly happen between gangs. I've had people running towards me and straight past me with machetes, knives and an axe in north London. They are so focused on their rivals and silly postcodes that they don't see the common man.
  23. I generally drink the equivalent of two beers from 8pm to midnight each day, so I'm not exactly chugging them down. If I get together with friends I'll drink more, but the hangover means I wont drink the day after. I'm no stranger to Heineken zero's either. If the local restaurants sold it, I'd be more likely to drink that most days instead.
  24. I've unfortunately crossed paths with Lammy before and he is a bully. It's funny how when something goes wrong, he throws good practice out of the window and starts grandstanding. He expects to get things his way by shouting the loudest, like a child.
