I prefer an unlicensed teacher for my kids than someone as rude as the above, which is clearly an indication of a low EQ.

I lived in India in the past as well and I also have my thoughts about the country, culture and people. What I don't do is looking down on Indians by mocking them in a public forum. That would indeed make me a racist.

Rather racist comment, you must have a very low self esteem.

One of the nicest towns in Thailand with beautiful promenade and Ao Manau around the corner. Very quiet at night, but quaint town with small expat community. I always felt Prachuap is totally underestimated.

Correct. Debt levels, health care and cost of education are the main worries for young couples to not get kids. -

Using GDP per capita as a factor of its world status, would place Thailand around 70th in the world (PPP not nominal). Hardly a developed economy. Now also throw the income distribution as variable in the mix and you could easily come to the conclusion that Thailand is 1st world for the happy few and 3rd world for the majority. The reason why people have many or few children is correlated with one's household economy. No money, lots of children, lots of money, few children. Thailand is an odd one out here. Thailand's population is poor by definition, but its birthrate is on par with the modern richer countries. Total recipe for disaster in the present political set up. Who will support the older and progressively top of the population pyramid? -

That's about 14% of their population, babies and aged people included. That's quite a number. -
My Thai family is quite on edge since May 14, like they are losing hope. Shame to see this happening to them.

His corrupt dealings that led to unusual wealth were well documented at the time. My favorite was the soft loan to Myanmar so they could buy his products. How about changing the Foreign Ownership laws to sell his telecom assets? His wife's crooked land deals? Just to name some of his shenanigans. -

Yes, I will try to go out more. Seems you dont know that MF won big time in Phuket and mot the military parties. Maybe you ought to venture away from Patong's bar scene and explore the real Phuket

Don't know who you are talking to, but around here (Phuket) people are livid and do find the PT an army of thieves and goons.

Dont know where you go shopping or fill your car, but where I stay inflation levels are sky high. Thailands household debt levels are at record highs, and with a looming Chinese real estate implosion, the global economic forcast doesnt bode well at all. I wish I could be as relaxed as you come across.
