  1. "Protesters lay siege"

20 people mulling around an area that 200 would fit into, 4 of whom are freely walking in or out of the building.

If something looks odd to you, it never hurts to spend a minute and a half and take a look around at other sources for yourself.

That way, you don't look so foolish trying to dismiss reports so out-of-hand.

    wink.png

Heck, to be that short-sighted, you might even have someone replying back to you with something like this gem:

There is a village somewhere, that is missing its idiot.

  2. I'm glad all that is clear.

It's just as clear as the other obfuscating, nonsensical, nonanswers others have given to a very simple question.
Tilac 2 gave you more of a coherent answer but if you are too lazy to check it out then it's your problem.

You could ask any of your Thai friends, that's if you have any.

More uncalled for flaming from another poster without answers.

    Anyway, the solution is clear.

As per previous post, any use whatsoever of the descriptive word is forbidden on the forum as it runs afoul of some rule or the other.

    Sorted.

  3. I'm glad all that is clear.

I will not be drawn on the subject further for very good reason.

    good day wai2.gif

Indeed, that's enough obfuscating non-answers to a simple straight forward question to last a day.

Given the alleged gravity that you purport to the issue, members should just report any post making any mention whatsoever to the group as it obviously violates a forum rule that doesn't exist.

Afterall, if simply naming them is forbidden (as you allege), then accusing of them of wrong-doing or assigning blame to them for some action is obviously a much more severe rule infraction.

  4. Rather than tablets e-readers would be a better investment, a graduate from the Philippines has told me that she has been using one for some time for her uni courses.

An e-reader per student can ensure for their full education that they always have the latest text books, they can be reinstalled every academic year, and there would be a great saving in paper, ink and energy for printing. Plus the kids wouldn't need enormous bags to carry their books to and from school. And I'm sure this sort of scheme would give plenty of opportunities for skimming too!

Nothing gives a better return for those involved in the scheme than paying for millions of tablets and not receiving even a single one.

  5. So name them. A half dozen or so would suffice.

To actually give you a clear meaning and the relating history of these words and relationship to Thailand is difficult, as to do so in detail would break the rules here about discussing any topic to do with a certain restriction.

In other words, ammart basically means the ones who are in decent economic, political, and social status

That is all i am prepared to say about the Ammart you can decide for yourself who it would or could refer to.

    There is the inconsistency.

You cite a rule here that applies only to a very, very small finite number of people, yet allude to a description that encompasses far more people.

The rule here would not apply to this far greater number of people that you describe and thus there is no restriction to discussing them by name, yet fail to identify them, even though doing so would not infringe on the rule here.

As said, makes it very convenient to fawn off responsibility on unidentified people cloaked in false intrigue .

    rolleyes.gif

"sigh" did i say it was a very small number ? did I say id give anything than a description of the term ?

If you wish to have current names you will have to do your own due diligence and research. Really very easy as people keep giving books to read... if you cant be bothered then id suggest your just being lazy and not really interested :)

Your choice, go research or stay in ignorance its all the same to me.

You cited a rule here as to why you were restricted from naming them.

That rule applies but to a small handful of people.

Then you describe a group of people that could be applied to a much larger group than those for whom the cited rule applies to.

However, you won't name any from the much larger group because you cite a rule that doesn't apply to them.

Completely nonsensical answer finalized with calling others ignorant and lazy.

  7. Where does that come from? It's not in the rules. Seems people can post all day about every possible aspect of them, but to simply name even a half dozen is all of a sudden somehow restricted because of some non-existent, imagined restriction.

Doesn't make sense and its not consistent.

Well. if you don't know about them it's because either you don't live here or you do and you didn't bother to learn much about Thailand, its history, politics or structure.
So name them. A half dozen or so would suffice.

Englishoak has mentioned why that is not possible. Either taken a hint or leave it be. Some things are taboo here in Thailand.

The explanation makes no sense as I mentioned.

It's only made more odd that every aspect of them can be discussed, but "taboo" to mention names.

Oh well, makes for a convenient boogieman to assign all and sundry to a group, but something as fundamental as "who" is given a pass.

  8. As for the Ammarts considering its restricted who can be named here

  10. Pheu Thai Chief Advisor Somchai Wongsawat yesterday visited a GSB branch on Phetchaburi Road and made a deposit of roughly 10 million baht.

30 billion baht worth of withdrawals made on Monday by GSB account holders

    .

I went to open an account this morning.

Were you able to make up the 29.99 Billion Baht shortfall by the disgraced and formerly banned PM?

    .

Uh oh, might need to open a second account in order to stem the tide.

The money being pulled out by customers has mushroomed from 30 Billion Baht to now 48 Billion Baht over the past two days.

  12. Pheu Thai core members get booed at GSB bank

Looks like at least 300 years jail-time in a single picture . By the way did they let the already convicted one, far left in the picture, out of jail for the purpose of depositing his bail money in GSB ?

    .

Despite his conviction and subsequently losing his case on appeal last December, Prompong has never been in jail.

    .

  13. It is a step in the right direction, what needs to be done is the common people move their accounts out of other banks that do not support the farmers and into the GSB a number of our neighbors suggested we do the same, but I moved my account to GBS about 2 weeks ago!

Also I made a personal decision to stop buying Red Bull and Singha beer, and will check what other products owners backed the non-payment to rice farmers.

The run on the banks was in Bangkok and the South, strongholds of the Democrats, all can see who is in favor of non payment!

    Cheers

No, the run on the bank also happened in the north, Stronghold of the red shirts, farmers taking their money out of GSB. I know because I saw it with my own eyes. Unlike your assumptions which is in the realms of fantasy!

only an idiot would suggest putting money into a bank that is experiencing a run on its assets. I don't even believe you, for all your idiotic posts are you that stupid? you lie about putting money in GSB. Probably one of the first to remove funds if indeed you had an account with them?

Also occurred in Central Thailand (not a Dem stronghold).

Was only offerered a check to close the account as they were out of cash.

    .

  14. Its funny how Somchai Wongsawat has been a civil servant his whole life. Yet he managed to save up more than 10 million baht and is able to deposit it at GSB as of its pocket change. A fantastic system that rewards corruption instead of punishing it.

Like most politicians his wife has more money and probably loaned him some. rolleyes.gif

Money isn't the only thing his wife has more of than him.

  15. Perhaps, polices are fed up with the government. More people feel that it is time for change.

    Thai people are not stupid.

First: before he was rescued one policemen free his hands.

Second there are reports that only one group of policemen run amok and shot at people while the others were friendly.

Seems the control over the police is slowly slipping away as well.

    .

Indeed, it does seem so. It's becoming more apparent that it was other police who set him free.

We'll need to update the vegetable/fruit descriptions of various entities, eg. "tomato" and "watermelon" to describe BIB police who are empathetic/sympathetic to the anti-government movement.

    .

Just where are these reports about rogue police running amok shooting people and policemen setting Somkiat free?

Nothing about running amok shooting people, but allowing him to get away, yes. In Thai media. The BP also phrases it that way for the non-Thai literate, such as yourself apparently.
