  1. The Shinawatra Tower 3 is said to house the SC Asset Company which is previously owned by Ms Yingluck Shinawatra.

Yingluck was never the sole owner of the company and she's still a stockholder with 27,830,000 shares.

    The major shareholders are

    1. Thaksin youngest daughter, Paetongtarn, with 960,908,540 shares

    2. Thaksin's oldest daughter, Pintongta, with 929,908,540 shares

    3. Thaksin's ex, Potjaman, with 92,531,270 shares and her brother, Bhanapot Damapong, with 159,000,000 shares

OK, but does targeting the building and its tenants really hurt SC Asset Company?

Yes, i think it does. The symbolism and negative publicity is already impacting the company.

Does it mean little Paetongtarn is going to wake up tomorrow eating MaMa noodles? No. Her nearly billion shares will still have value, but it will be worth less than previously.

It will also no doubt hurt Thaksin's pride to see the events surrounding his building develop. It wouldn't be surprising to learn he's seezing in anger over what transpired.

    NO SHINAWATRAS IN SIGHT!!

However, there's no way of knowing how much stock the Shinawatras are holding in the company. The absence of their name is meaningless.

    "2. THAI NVDR COMPANY LIMITED"

The Shin Corp shares have disappeared into Thai NVDR Co, set up by the Stock Exchange of Thailand to help investors circumvent foreign ownership rules. NVDR holders have no voting power, but they enjoy similar dividend payouts and other benefits with other shareholders. NVDR is an excellent sanctuary, with official blessings, to help big-time investors hide their identities behind a smoke screen.

    "3. CHASE NOMINEES LIMITED 28"

    Nominees. Self-explanatory

    "4. LITTLEDOWN NOMINEES LIMITED"

    Nominees. Ditto.

    "10. CHASE NOMINEES LIMITED"

    Even more nominees.

  3. Thailand hasnt even gotten to the main event yet and all the academics and political watchers say the same thing, at that point anything could happen. Ive been here too long not to expect the unexpected. If everything turns out all cool great, if its not no problem with a plan B, its smart insurance.

I cant tell you how many farang Ive met who think its all too easy, until its not, things can turn here on a dime for many reasons or none at all, s**t can just happen, with no support or plan b your screwed.

It's true that Thaksin's eventual return to Thailand will be pivotal to how things turn out for the country. Having a Plan B when that occurs would be highly advantageous.

You got one of those wives with a crystal ball as well then ? rolleyes.gif the event im talking of is 100% cast iron guaranteed m8, I hope you have a plan B.

You mean you're not talking about Thaksin's return? What are you talking about?

  4. without the shin clan they would never have been given the right to vote

I am impartial but I do applaud the shin clan for giving the poor the right to vote

Just for the sake of accuracy, all Thais have had the right to vote since first doing so on November 15, 1933.

Your applause therefore is misdirected and should go to the People's Party of 1932.

*not to be confused with the banned for electoral fraud People Power Party of 2008*

  6. I was just wondering does anyone know what percentage of these companies are owned by the shinawatras either directly or indirectly? Thanks

For SC Asset, the clan owns around 65% of all shares.

*see above link in previous post*

Thank you. Assuming that is correct and it's not news to people more aware than myself, it helps people vote with their feet

Your very welcome. If it's not correct, they've lied to the Stock Exchange in their official reports.

    Another significant Shinawatra business is:

    j6825.gif

    M-Link Asia Corporation

    https://www.set.or.th/set/companyprofile.do?symbol=MLINK

It's chockablock full of Shinawatras and Wongsawats (sister Yaowapha's married name) in both management (Thaksin's banned-from-politics-for-lying-about-assets niece Chinnicha is the new CEO; Yingluck's common-law husband, Anusorn, was President) and ownership.

  7. Would be useful to get a list of Shin's businesses, so we know which ones to boycott. Any ideas folks? If anyone has a complete list - please post. Many thanks.

It would be very useful to get a list of these businesses so that we know which ones to short on the market, we may as well make money out of their demise wink.png

    here's three of them:

  8. BANGKOK, 20 February 2014, (NNT) -- Due to various rallies around Bangkok and its vicinity, all passengers travelling to Suvarnabhumi Airport have been advised to carefully check their routes or find alternative means of transport in order to avoid missing flights. Passengers should also leave for the airport at least 3-4 hours prior to their scheduled flights.

Suvarnabhumi Airport's announcement came amid heavy traffic congestion around the capital resulting from road closures by various anti-government rallies. In order to avoid missing flights, passengers should plan their traveling routes carefully and leave for the airport at least 3-4 hours ahead of scheduled flights.

  9. Well the one thing they don't want when these thousands of farm vehicles reach Bangkok is for the heavens to open and Bangkok floods again.

Lets see a thousand klm or more at 20klm's an hour, crikey thats over a month 1 way.

By the time some of them get here the protest will be over. By the time they get back home there will be more protests on and around it goes.

    Ahh you gotta love Thailand.

    Slightly over 2 days, actually.......

He struggles so with the geography of the OP:

The farmers from Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Ang Thong, Singburi, headed to Bangkok

to which he retorts "a thousand klm or more"

    :cheesy:

  10. "Protesters lay siege"

20 people mulling around an area that 200 would fit into, 4 of whom are freely walking in or out of the building.

Bad picture probably a stock photo of the entrance because none of those are protesters clearly.

I am watching Channel 3 news that just showed a good few thousand making their way there from on protest site and i think there are others which are en route.

Don't worry lads, by the end of the day you will be treated to many pictures of a total lockdown of several Shin Corp locations.

If anyone damns these protests, then they clearly support Thalsin Shinawatra and his family of thieves and murderers, and that means there is zero help for you. You are soulless and dead inside.

There's a small hitch. What if the majority ownership is not with Thaksin Shiniwatra?

    But, alas, it is.

  11. The Shinawatra Tower 3 is said to house the SC Asset Company which is previously owned by Ms Yingluck Shinawatra.

Suthep vowed to pursue Yingluck at all places she went to bring the end to her power and rule in the country.

umm its just a guess but shes probably not there.

I think it says the SC asset Company was previously owned.w00t.gif

This would mean it is no longer owned by Ms Yingluck.thumbsup.gif

She still owns millions of shares. ;)
