  1. Stay in context, the OP relates to Thai budget airlines. My niece has been at uni in CM for over 3 years and during that time the airfare has been fairly stable in the 800 - 1000 baht range. A return flight to HCMC in Vietnam has been fairly stable for several years in the order of 3500 baht. Of course you will find instances where the price has deviated from the average.
  2. This is the list of supporting docs from the E-visa application. You do not need to answer both financial questions, you can give income under question 4 or capital in question 10, best to think in terms of the 12 month extension, equivalent of 400K baht. You must upload something for every question so where you may not want to, you can write something on a piece of paper, take a photo and upload that. For question 9 you can get your wife to send a note on Whatsapp or something with address and tel no and upload that. Good luck. Official Website of Thailand Electronic Visa_4.pdf
  3. "also applies to the 50% increase as well." Why the compulsion to distort the context?
  4. You mean that fictional 50%.
  5. Quite. The covid situation came at a significant cost to the airlines with precautions, refunds etc alongside the increase in fuel. It is not any surprise they will try and recoup some of the loss. The OP however relates to a reduction in fuel duty here in Thailand, something many choose to ignore.
  6. They have, but still being rolled out, probably some time yet before the neighbouring countried will be included. Even when they do residency will come into play. Bangkok, 7 December, 2022 – Thailand is now offering e-Visa online application service at Royal Thai Embassies and Consulates-General in 38 cities in 23 countries worldwide. https://www.tatnews.org/2022/12/thailand-e-visa-online-application-service-now-available-in-38-cities-worldwide/#:~:text=Bangkok%2C 7 December%2C 2022 –,cities in 23 countries worldwide.
  7. That is garbage, I doubt the prices on the airlines concerned went up 10%, certainly not anywhere near 50%. The prices on budgets can vary for all sort of reasons so you have to be specific when making outrageous claims. "The seven airlines participating in this promotion are Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, Thai AirAsia X, Thai Smile, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air and Thai VietJet." Very unlikely the 20% will make much difference, maybe some saving if you fly during unsociable hours.
  8. Or they can't get the parts because of brexit, obviously not a reason you want to recognise.
  9. You have to be right, your a foreigner.
  10. Your GF will say anything you want to hear.
  11. The UK's struggling car industry, brexit problems again means ministers cars from the EU. “Twelve years of Tory instability and uncertainty has left our car industry suffering,” said Jonathan Reynolds, Labour’s shadow business secretary. “UK car manufacturing output is less than half the level it was six years ago – a truly harrowing situation for a hard-working industry which deserves better.” https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/uk-ministerial-government-cars-made-in-germany-audi-b2250544.html
  12. Quite. Those of us that were trading with the EU before the single market were well aware of how the UK would struggle once the UK had left, the English nationalists thought they knew better and Johnson tried to make out the reintroduction of red tape wouldn't happen. A customs union is about removing customs barriers. Leaving the customs union means reintroducing them. A single market means removing bureaucratic barriers to trade with other countries. Leaving the single market means reintroducing them. So to hear the government say there is “always more” they could do to reduce bureaucracy, when they have strained every sinew of the British state since 2016 to introduce these barriers, will sit extremely poorly with anyone who understands the situation. https://www.independent.co.uk/independentpremium/editors-letters/brexit-red-tape-bureaucracy-government-trade-b2250165.html
  13. In a nutshell, choose the promise that suits you.
  14. Thanks, but I didn't mean out and about in Pattaya. There are many places in Thailand that you will struggle to sit down for a beer in the afternoon, or have any lights on after 10pm.
  15. Of course there was. The original EU Referendum Bill 2013-14 was killed off in early 2014, a fairly obvious move as it conflicted with DC's promises to Scotland. A new Bill was then brought back to the House in 2015 after the Scottish vote.
  16. How on earth could it have been a strong point when it wasn't official. When it was mentioned it was dismissed as rumours. But you are right to a certain point there was a failing in the leadership rather than the government. Many that voted No were voting against Alex Salmond rather than the idea of independence.
  17. But a common issue. In 2014 David Cameron misled the people of Scotland in that he promised Scotland would have a greater say in dealings with the EU while at the same time already secretly planning a referendum on leaving the EU. The fallout from that referendum has reinforced the argument for Scotland to vote again. Westminster do not want to acknowledge the failings surrounding the 2014 vote and are using out of context personal quotes to try and deny revisiting the issue. They have no moral argument for this course of action and sooner or later it will be held again. If Brexit had gone the other way it is unlikely there would be the same strength of feeling over another vote so the problem for Westminster is effectively self inflicted through mismanagment of both referendums.
  18. You need to get out and about a bit more.
  19. Views taken on self determination cannot be confined to one particular entity, to do so amounts to discrimination. History has proven the Wesminster stance on self determination changes to suit the agenda at the time. Discrimination is a way of life in the UK with several laws having been introduced to try and stop it, you are of course free to feel what you want.
  20. You have made a response against a quote made by someone else, a breach of the rules.
  21. The point is I was always under the impression that there were laws, whether they were followed or not.
  22. For years since 1972, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, which was passed to prevent civil servants from having afternoon drinks, has only allowed alcohol sales to be made from 11 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to midnight. https://asiawinenews.com/2022/07/thailand-to-end-50-year-alcohol-ban-from-july/
  23. You obviously do not agree with independence so a closet unionist then - your words I believe. "So, when have the Scottish Parliament decided to have the next referendum? Oh. Hang on a minute. They can't. There really is no point in trying to argue about it. Scotland did not (could not) vote on remaining in the EU. They didn't have an independent vote. Scottish Parliament cannot lawfully hold a referendum as and when they please. Scotland do not have a fully independent Parliament, if they did they wouldn't keep complaining about Westminster. They don't have their own currency. They don't have an independent legal system. If it were up to me I would give Scotland independence. No ifs or buts. Just leave. No money, no support, no pensions, no funding. I doubt, however, the Scottish would vote for that."
  24. That has been under way for many years with BRICS and CIPS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BRICS#:~:text=BRICS is an acronym for,%2C China%2C and South Africa. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross-Border_Interbank_Payment_System
