  1. 1.reading questions of others ...which airport he is....no answer?? why??

2.i still have(paid $225 in Aus Thai embassy) multi entry ED visa and valid till March 2015 and I am currently in Aus...trying to save money for next trip to Los..

    3. previously spent 6 months studying Thai at Walen and travelled to Poland and Vietnam in this span of time with no problem on re-entry to Los.

4.next year March I am going to visit Thai for 2-3 weeks just to see my g/f regardless my ed visa still valid or not

and I gave up learning Thai because I am slowly loosing confidence in Thai rule makers.

    5. I do not believe that someone learned Thai for 6 months and can not write or read this language...because I can do it.

I can read it slowly but do not understand meaning of more then 60% of it.

Also I can write but it is much harder to recall alphabet or write properly all extra vowels

As to understanding spoken Thai or speak it is still a problem but I am 63 old hence can not blame myself to much.

    6. the point is ....

is this fellow case is genuine? ??

should I be affraid of same treatment next year or better pay here in Aus for 1 month stay ignoring everything else as my ed visa and also granted 30 days..

I am planning to go to Europe after Thailand and not to be forced to go back to Aus....in such case of this fellow.

Personally. .he is not telling whole truth..I guesd..

He should be able to at least read Thai after 6 month at Walen not even understanding at all...

If he was able to speak Thai then I just can not understand it is possible not to read or write at least a little. ..

For me whole this story is very suspicious. ...or someone's game.

If this was true that Thai authorities refused entry because of his problem with writing then I am only can ask them

one thing....Is Thai child going to school first time is able to write and read in own language after 6 month attending ????????......

and that what I am preparing to ask if I will struck similar problem in Los.

Anyway...if Thai really want to clean this country from fraudulent students then there is more and better ideas then what they are doing ...if this is true story........

otherwise they will harm many many honest people who spent or spending time realy learning this language for many purposes for the future including me.

Well, next year many other countries around Thailand will welcome people like us and I hope things will be easier then in Los for honest peoples.

  2. 10 hours a week isn't that much .. I did 25 a week and after 3 or 4 months at a reputable school I could read and write.

If you haven't picked up enough language ability after a year to run rings around an immigration officer then its time to think if learning a foreign language is for you.

Just hysteria to learn something. or just easier time for staying in LOS.

Mate, for some people is enough for some is not ...

It depends what you want from your life...?

In some age you need it just to feel better staying in Thailand for some time but it depends what you want to do and how old are you...

Ti be honest for me was just enough 9 hours a week and with help of my girlfriend it was interesting to learn Thai.

But now if someone pushing me to just spend most of my time in travelling to and from school and not having my private time in my age ....then I give up with ED visa.

I do not need to feel like criminal or something to be chased by authorities for my own money spent in LOS.

Simply all this "witch hunting" comes to the point that LOS in not worth it.

Simply I will pay longest possible visa and feel free.coffee1.gif

    Enough is enough....

I was truly interested in studying this language but not under preasure of the Thai "system".

LOS is starting to shrink very quickly but world is still big enough to choose a different place...

Even my Thai girlfriend is having same opinion..

To many scare tactics just for ordinary people who value freedomcoffee1.gif

  3. If they commit "suicide " or they they will be hanged then it is will be most convenient solution for many with dirty hands in this country.

History repeats it self's and never ends if nothing radical happen this time...

Nothing surprise me any more in this world and similar "systems"

We always know what we allowed to know..

So, Mr. Prayuth ...please....I still keep believing in you and your action.

  4. Victims deserved the truth to be exposed.

If this country wants to have "clean face" then they can not hide facts.

Reading all of this crap from authorities I have very strong feeling about something is not right in whole investigation story.

For so long time there was no clue who is guilty then suddenly they found ones.....

Who have so much money and power to still " pull the strings" in this case. And Thailand is talking about cleaning this mess..???

It is still old crap .

I still believe that Prime minister is doing right work but if he fail to contribute to this case then all my hope is just rubbish as usual.

    Simply enough is enough.

  5. By your action you just should be treated same as this "officer" .....corruption is on both sides ..."seller and buyer" this way next people will be affected same way.

It could cost you much less going back to any close countries to get full visa...

You should send a letter of complain to any possible office including new Prime minister...

To be honest next time I would use any kind of recording device on any contact with those people....IT IS EASY this days and cheap. (Any smart phone has recording software ...).

Satisfaction could be sweet.biggrin.png.pagespeed.ce.XhpYJIv77v.png if you show him even sound recording after all.

  6. Yes, now if they would just learn to drive on the proper side of the road.

    We do.

If you were riding a horse and met strangers going the other way, wouldn't you like to be able to use your sword arm, just-in-case?

If not, you will be following a certain short, French-speaking General's dictate.

Actually I'd rather be on the right, because when I pulled my Glock with my right hand I could rest it on my left elbow, cross-body and make the idiot wish he had something other than a sword. laugh.pnglaugh.png

This is the true reason that most countries drive on the right (correct) side. biggrin.png

I just recalled from history that some countries law punished people for stealing by cutting off right hand.......then after centuries many people developed skills of using left hand for writing and doing many other things.....

    Unfortunately I don't remember how many countries...facepalm.gifgiggle.gif

But this is very interesting and funny subject to read this topic tonight giggle.gif

  7. Anyone have a pic of how high the rail is?

The resort website? Although it doens't say what room type they had.

    http://www.phuketgraceland.com/room-type/dlp/gw-dlp1.jpg

    http://www.phuketgraceland.com/room-type/fam1/gw-fam1-5.jpg

The railings look pretty open and low.

The Thai standard chair height (to seat top) is 45 cm. That seems to be the height of the table. From that scale, and projecting from the left table leg to the left column, I'd put the railing height at about 80 cm. The standard is 80-90 cm, depending on the exterior drop. But how all three managed to fall at the same time beats me, unless they were sitting on the rail.

If they was sitting on the rail (it's high probability ) If they smoked stronger stuff then it is result of misjudging distance to swimming poolcheesy.gif

Simply one start falling and grabbed another .....biggrin.png maybe they started to have a vision of swimming pool below ....who knows how alcohol works on some idiots...without imagination or respect for gravity......

    coffee1.gif

  8. Someone said about height of balcony or step railings in Thailand......clap2.gif

Yes , It is because they build they country for them self's and own body height (much smaller)...... not for us giggle.gifgiggle.gif

For drunken idiots there is not a limit or height to stop them.... but gravity can do it for some time .

I just wander if they will try it again if they survive because I guess for some it is not enough....

We should blame...( maybe) their parents taking to much care this days about growing kids hysterically and not letting them to taste a pain of falling to the ground from own height..

then we can see a result....cheesy.gif

I think they will remember that ground is to hard drop from 3 level (they should try 1 level ...first )....................................coffee1.gif

  9. If Thai will use brain of westerners then this is just good start of modern slavery which is flowering back there and specially at USA Australia and some Europeans countries.

As much as I learned about this country and it's Kings ideas which he spent entire life I believe Thailand can do much better without external "IDEAS".

If general is trying to make Thai happy again then it will happened but without foreign influence.

If Thailand manage so far to exist with so huge corruption then Thailand have a big chance to go forward now using own brain without external leaches .

For me it smell ..."Trojan horse"coffee1.gifwai2.gif

  10. I have seen a lot of "Aussie's" in Bali and how they behave being drunk ......just shame to the nation they come from...

As some said ; "we do not know full truth...

I do not defend locals but can not blame them in full either....

One thing is; I would like to hear just start of "conversation" between two parties...and I don't think that I would be surprised...coffee1.gif

  11. This is sad.... young guys throwing their lives away.

I think there are a few holes in the story.......possibly his money was running out and he didn't want to leave.

Losing his job was the last straw, although being a security guard, I am surprised he managed to get 3 months off work.

    gigman said:

I understand his feelings if this was the scenario...

That's what exactly means to be young and in love and on the top to taste more of freedom...

Coming back to realities can kill anyone...

  12. I just do not understand why normal tourist needs 30 kg luggage when going to Thailand. ..for vacations.

my last trip I paid extra AA lines for 20 kg because I carried my music keaboard 26 kg in the case

Plus my clothes for 6 month of staying in LOS and all together it was 40 kg . On top of it on board luggage 7 kg and laptop bag 4 kg.

To be honest most of my clothes was never used because those i used I washed every second day.

Loundry in Thai is ridiculous cheap...

Clothes required are light and cheap too..

Simply I do not get it why anyone need so much weight and unnecessary balast going for vacations????

Except this trip I carry just onboard luggage which is a little over weighted but it is good enough for spending even 6 months in Los.....

To be honest most of the people carry unnecessary loads just in case....

Just be honest when you add all of allowed weight it is:

    30 kg plus main luggage

7 kg (mostly abused weight) on board

Personal bags (laptop etc., woman bags)

    Usualy 2-5 kg

    Total:42 kg per person. ...

That is more then half of the average person body weight...

    And you expecting cheaper tickets?????

Do not forget about a lot of over weighted people...

Some expectations are to have more food on the flight. ...

I think we are spoiled nation..

  13. kg

    too little, too late, methinks

Why? I Use them regularly and they are fine.... I was looking for a fare for the dates I wanted over the new year, coming up, and they were the cheapest full service, and direct flight, airline for those dates... they were only about 60 AUD dearer than AA and the like...

Use them a bit and you may just get a surprise

    Yes.i agree too.

Since 2013 I had 38 flights including Thai flights and the best service I had in Thai flights.Thai services are most pleasant from start to landing.

All of the staff is always ready for any request at any time.In one of my direct flights I forgot my asthma inhaler and when I asked stewardess for it she spent nearly an hour but she found it somewhere on the bottom of the plane storage...and it surprised me a lot because it was at night and I thought she forgotten.

I have reached mileage in Thai flights that allowed me to have gold member card

    just in one year.

I have been flying Quantas, Virgin, Air Asia, Malasian and Indonesian lines but I value Thai as best and most friendly air carrier service. As for the prices then I believe they have seasons and off seasons but I also enjoyed direct flights with Thai just for $845 doll.spending 7 hours flight (not even 8).

My friend has bookings in 4 of October just for $748 doll with Thai ..direct flight....from Brisbane.

    Can you complain on this???

They have good food and enough for normal eating person not to mention that they are always happy to serve you alcohol any time and any kind for free...

Sorry but I can not say wrong word about Thai services. They are not so reach as other famous flights but I believe they trying they best to be on the top and they will be...I wish Thailand the best

With everything in the future because they deserved it and all hard working Thai people.

    Time will show. ...

  14. 5555....

The whole western world is brainwashed this days......why to blame only Russians or another third countries population....555

Just look on your life anywhere you are....and starting from all those stupid advertisements in your belowed TV ...starting from "artificial butter...which is good for you or veggies full of poison ....555...if you know what I mean...

This days we live with advanced mobile phone in the hand but with sword in another and ready to kill .....giggle.gif

And if you believe in everything they say to you then you are lost in lies whatever it is small or big.

21'st century and nothing change really.....except people have no time to use own brain or they are lazy. Media's "brain" is working for them ...

    Like in broken marriage....;

You never know who's fault was until you are husband or wife of the situation......others only knows each side story to judge.

  15. It's nothing new with this incident.

Every similar case comes to the same point ....permit permit...issued in Thailand.

There is no more permits to be sure to be allowed to come back to Thailand

    There is one simple think to do ;

You want to stay longer in LOS ....GET YOUR VISA OUTSIDE THAILAND AND PAY FOR IT ! The best option is to get it in your home country and get all information in there.

I have done it in Australia , paid 1 year multi entry for $225 doll and used it without problem being twice outside and not after I returned to Australia I was asked at airport just when I am coming back...that's all.

Simply , I must earn some money to return and continue my "Passa Thai" before my visa run out. Probably I will even pay another year before I go to LOS to have no problems and I do not have to write in this site similar questions.coffee1.gif .
