  1. He will be applying for a 90 day O Visa based on retirement, money just needs to be in the account on day of application
  2. 800,000 only has to be in the bank on the day of application
  3. Been getting US SS deposits here for almost eight years, Bangkok Bank, never an issue
  4. If you have twelve months of deposits in the bank, none can be below 65,000, you do not need 800'000 in the bank
  5. It is called an OA even after extension, I went through this for several years am now on an O.
  6. then you have the one idiot that thinks this is funny, very sick
  7. you can get six month statements from Bangkok Bank, so I get one at six months and one at twelve months. I go to the bank once every month so no extra work for me.
  8. I don't think it is possible to switch from an OA to an O without leaving the country
  9. I switched from an OA to an was on the OA for five years. You have to have insurance the entire time you are on an OA including extensions. I left the country in late 2021 without a re entry permit, went to Cambodia in and out same day. Came on a visa exempt, went to Immigration the following day and appied for a non O, this is for ninty days. in the last 30 days applied for a one year extension. No insurance is required when you are on an O vis or extension of one. If coming in visa exempt you need at least 15 days left on your entry. The 800.000 baht has to be in the bank on day of application for the visa, two months in the bank on date of application for the extension, Also bank account has to show that it came from a foreign source.
  10. That is what I did, just make sure you have at least 15 days left on your 30 day entry permit. Some offices require 20 days. I did mine on the same day is I crossed the border.
  11. Extensions for an O do not require insurance if you came in on an based on Retirement then yes insurance is required unless you switched in to one based on marriage
  12. that would be an O visa based on retirement I got mine in Thailand, orginally eight years ago came into Thailand on an OA Visa, my choice did extensions for five years and then switched to an O, too me and many others the OA is no longer a desirable option
  13. I have never had to show that the funds came from a pension, US citizen Rayong Immigration
  14. But you do not need to lock up 800,000 in the bank, you can transfer 65,000 in EVERY month which you can spend the day it is brought in
  15. Insurance is only required if you have an OA visa or extension of the visa. O visa does not require insurance
