    SS is starting to really <deleted> me off, sent first forms in for me and the wife in Mid July, last month they were finally received by an agent for SS. Today we both got our second notices, can't take a chance that they didn't lose them so sending in the second set tomorrow, they need to hire some more help our change their way for this stupid reporting system worse than 90 day reports - 555 Rant done time to crack a cold one

    money has to be in your name only, no problem receiving large amounts with Thai banks, I have sent million baht transfers many times to Bangkok Bank and never an issue

    Bangkok Bank will do six month statements on the spot, so what I have done is at six months get a statement and after another six months get a statement, Rayong Immigration had no problem with this

    just looked at the Chicago website and the only visa for over 50 and not married to a Thai is an OA, which will require insurance along with all the other requirements, you do not want to get this for just a 90 day stay, do as others have suggested, tourist visa or come in visa exempt

    why would you call Immigration stupid, it is needed as part of the process to get stamps transferred to new passport, stupid comment

    and of course you have to have no less than 400,000 in it over the year

    That will be no problem for you, but when you apply for the O Visa within Thailand you will have to have 800,000 baht in a Thai bank on the day of applying, this also has to have been shown that it came from outside of Thailand, when you do your extension you can show twelve months of over 65,000 baht transferred to a Thai bank account.

    if he is going from a visa exempt to applying for an O he will have to have 800,000 in the bank for the 90 day visa, when he applies for the extension if he has twelve months of transfers of 65,000 or more than he can use the monthly method

    you should be able to get it started at any Bangkok Bank main branch, don't forget you need a 12 month statement which has to be ordered from Bangkok can take up to five working days to get it.

    two to three weeks is normal for getting a new O visa, they have to send them off to Bangkok for final approval

    Non O Visa application is 2000 baht, extension from it will be 1900 baht
