The requirement to take a lateral flow test (ART / ATK - all the same thing) are individually dependant on the Airline or country of transit / destination.

The vast majority of countries / airlines have abolished all requirements for testing (for vaccinated travellers).

Thus: First double check the testing requirements if any.

Then, IF tests are required, find out if an official test is required or simply proof of a home test.

IF a home test (i.e. at a hotel) just extend your stay and isolate for a week or whatever is required.

IF a ‘clinic’ test you will likely be told to isolate at home or hotel, extend your stay until testing positive.

You may be able to change your flight free of charge.

You may wish to get travel insurance which covers you for any Covid related delays / extensions for isolation.

As I understand it, Thailand no longer has any ‘state isolation requirements’ but does ask that those testing positive isolate at home or their accommodation.

Close. If you get a positive rat you ate required to take a pcr at your own expense to confirm the result. When that comes back you are required to self isolate somewhere suitable if you cant you will be required to isolate, again at your own expense, at a suitable government location

All this is quite easily found on the Thai govt ministry of health website.

Of course rhis is what you are officially supposed to do. What actually happens is up to the individual in question.

Thank you for your trouble in replying.

I am actually aware of Google.

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I meet all the requirements for the three months visa, financial, medical (now) except for one. It was necessary to provide evidence of stay (sponsorship, family address etc., fully paid-up hotel booking etc.) for the full period.

This I am unable to do, although the situation could change fairly quickly after my arrival, as I am in the latter stages of purchasing a coastal apartment of some worth.

I merely wanted to consult an agent to see if there was a (legal) way around this and if I could obtain my retirement visa from within and on a tourist visa. I have had varying reports. I now have a couple of seemingly decent contacts from on here.

Otherwise, there would be no problem next time around.

On a general point, I have no objection to paying money to a reputable agent if it saves me time and trouble.

Well you either meet the conditions for your visa or you don't. Despite the flowery language if you are unable to meet the conditions then a "reputable" agent is of no use to you. If you want to pay for a visa "reputable" isn't going to help. However there are many agents who can Smooth the waters concerning visas unfortunately they wouldn't fit your parameters

The thing I don't get about these ladyboy discussion, is the "you must be gay" if you like ladyboys comments. Ask any gay man, They are not attracted to females, or anyone presenting as a female. For most straight men, anal sex is the holy grail with their female partners, and a BJ from someone who is familiar with the equipment, cant be a bad thing.

I'm not pro or anti ladyboys or relationships with them, but certainly wouldn't put it in the "must be gay" category.

    100% not gay. 100% bi/ bi curious.

Because I will be starting from scratch and from within Thailand.

I realise that the process (re. banking requirements) is simple and already have an account with the necessary funds, but I will need to know what else is required. I am unsure of just what is needed for the medical certificate, for example ... and how to get it.

The suggestion that I should actually go to the immigration office for advice is sound.

If you have everything you require you do not need an agent. Agents generally are used by shonks that can't fulfill (generally financial) one of the requirements to get the visa normally. There is no need to spend money on an agent if you have all your ducks in a row.

Google is your friend there are multiple sites/threads that explain step by step everything you require for your retirement visa. As others have stated the process is quite simple. Worst case you might have to go to immigration a couple times if you make a mistake.

Here I will give you a massive start ...put requirements retirement visa Thailand in your search box.

(1/2) Somyot Panprasong, the man the authorities believe to be the true owner of Mountain B Pub which recently caught fire and led to 19 deaths, turned himself to the police on Tursday after an arrest warrant was issued by Pattaya Court on Monday.

(2/2) The move came after police surrounded his home in Chonburi. Somyot is charged with causing deaths and serious injuries through negligence and operating a pub without license

Really, you know what your getting in McDonalds here in Thailand, and your bottled beers which have been sitting in the heat for days before being refrigerated at a bar.

Best thing about McDonald's in Thailand is they have just introduced the quarter pounder. Yeeees. No more drunken double cheeseburgers for me

    Lol

  7. Oh but but but the multiple posters on here decrying what an upstanding young man the "owner" was and how he was doing his best and how he was misunderstood  and spew spew spew the usual rubbish from the Thaier than Thai brigade. Oh and what about the poor Vietnamese girl and the insurance that a "legal" venue should have. Honestly some posters on here make me sick with their grovelling, sycophantic nonsense.

I find it strange that you found reason to mention Indian tourists at all. Other than them having different culture and taste to what they consider a good night out, they are normal people and not aliens from another planet. A very racist comment I must say.

Don't worry might be a win anyway. He's bringing he's missus to pattaya which is basically bringing sand to the beach and what's he going to do not drink or eat in any establishment that has an Indian customer? And more importantly why?

You believe they are untrained? Most attend schools but are left to perfect there skills outside.  A bad haircut looks good in 2 weeks.

My GF is a trained stylist and colorist and still has people complain that it does not look exactly like the photo. Everyone's hair is different.

Trained at the Paul Mitchell school in SF.

A bad haircut looks better in 2 weeks don't really cut it (pun intended) unless your at the local 50 baht barber

    I just left the Philippines.

I think it is the worst country in Asia now just a mess of inflation,  garbage, stench, beggars, and rats.  I will never go back total 3rd world S hole.

Also, on previous trips the people seemed pretty friendly.  I felt a big change in this regard not nearly as friendly or at best, fake friendly.

Thailand is 100 times better in my opinion.

    Spot on

Exactly what is so attractive about drinking from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. ?  If people want to drink two hours longer, can't they simply start two hours sooner ?

Wait for this...because joints that are popular as late night venues dont get going till 10 or 11 at night if you are there at 8 youll be there by yourself. We not talking about the poor falangs nursing long necks of chang at early openers. Its not about the drinking its about partying till early hours. The breaka breaka dawn even. You probably never did that as a yoing bloke or an old bloke for that matter.

I actually had you down as a smart guy. Liked the way you presented your reviews etc

But you have really sunk to new lows with that nonsense.

That is nothing to do with what we are discussing. Public means that there are people who do not want to be affected by your smoke. Your article is clearly discussing tobacco and published possibly years before cannabis legalisation.

Now, there are dedicated places for smoking cannabis. If someone goes inside, they are going inside for one reason and for one reason only. Therefore they are deemed to having consented to inhaling or being affected by second hand smoke and they almost certainly smoke themselves.

It's not like a supermarket that the general public are expected to freely access. Many of which would be forced to smoke if smoking where allowed inside the supermarket. This is a place where people are expected to be smoking; a cannabis cafe.

I don't know where people's intelligence has got to. It's like they have no inherent ability to parse information.

The ridiculous things posted here is evidence of that.

Yeah there is quite a few posters on here starting to go with rabid anti pot stance like it wasn't already available and the fact that some people may want to now enjoy it are going to completely ruin the fabric of Thai society as we know it.

You pinch the top off about 8" from the ground just above 2 leaves.

Then new branches grow from the join of each of those 2 leaves.

Giving you a bushy plant instead of a long lanky stick plant.

You can use the top as a cutting for a new plant.

Here's one I did a 3 days back, the new growth is very fast.

Sadly this plant is looking like a boy!

Better known as shortening the internodal length. And yeah BM I agree looking like a healthy baby boy unfortunately

Ultimately, I didn't buy it. The "road" was just a 4m wide concrete slab where two cars couldn't even pass each other and I don't see them ever widening it or paving the roads by the water channel the opposite direction.

Unfortunate, so back to prowling facebook land sales groups. I do still like the area of Yang Talat, though; that highway stretch between Khon Kaen and Kalasin seems ideal. Too bad any other post in the last 6 months has the land between 700k-1m baht, lol.

Just my thrupence. Going to be ridiculously hard to do from overseas you need to be in country, boots on the ground and actually go and see these places for yourself. Rent a joint close to where you think you want to be an ACTUALLY live there for a while. In that part of the country rents are stupid cheap and you aren't locked into anything. There is no way I would try and attempt anything you are considering online or with help from her brother.
