Paul Henry replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
When Omicron takes hold there will not be enough hotels in the whole of Thailand to quarantine the infected people. -
Self-isolation programs reinstated ahead of Omicron wave
Paul Henry replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ignore all the knee jerk reactions being stated In a few weeks Thailand will follow the protocols of another country that appears to have the problems in hand. The sheep syndrome. -
Forget about cases of Omicron running into tens of thousands in Thailand expect to see numbers in the hundreds of thousands. If the gurus are right the higher the number and the quicker the spread the better, should help to see things turn back to normal. The Thai Govt like other govts all over the world will not be able to handle the testing, isolation, treatment etc. It will be up to the population to look after themselves and loved ones.

Danderman 123 critisises my comments, obviuosly lives in a closetted world. What word is "WRONGNESS' not in any dictionary. Secondly state your facts guess you have none. Australia is doing away with quarantine as it has a high national vaccination rate. In its place they are bringing in "ISOLATION" at home, also allowing use of RAT along with many other changes to current rules. Western Australian Government ( which has very low cases both historically and currently) expect hundreds of thousands of Omicron cases when they open their border in the next few weeks. Most Australians are currently lining up for their third vaccine shot. There is a saying " you are better off sitting there looking like an idiot than opening your mouth and removing all doubt.

If Thailand has a majority of people vaccinated they are swimming agains the tide. Many other countries that have high vax rates are doing away with testing and quarantine and letting the Omicron virus spread to unvaccinated populace to build up their immune system. By end of January we will see our friends change the rules again.

Drunk driving being the cause of most of the fatalities is incorrect. The figures supplied show speeding was the highest factor in the fatality stakes. Once again its the system that is failing the country not the drivers. Poor policing, poor accountability and small penalties when you do get caught breaking the road rules. The problem is at the feet of the Government which has no interest in action just empty statements and platitudes. The ultimate negative effect on the economy must be high forgetting the emotional cost.

Nchuckle is talking through the wrong end again. When I said I did not have a smart phone I didn't say I could not use one. I have just retired and have had cell phones and satelite phones for many years. The reason is dickheads used to phone me from all parts of the world with no idea of time diffence. If I need to talk to someone or they need to talk to me the can use a landline number and if I am not available leave a message. I dont need to waste money on the latest toy to take selfies and show the world how good I am.

And to think many Americans want to re elect a despot who wants to have an authoritarian government run by him and his family to increase their wealth and power and jail his opponents now most of his other scams are closing in on him. Remember America the "LAND OF THE FREE" Lets hope it still is after 2024

Assume that the "anti vaxxors" will refuse blood transfusions if they require major surgery or from an accident. With a large percentage of the population vaccinate most blood will be "contaminated" with the Covid antibodies. This will be their acid test on what they really want or believe. Then we will see if they are prepared to die for their misguided beliefs.
