Sorry typo. Yes 14.180 Baht. I still have a note of the individual costs, but it is in Thai.

I bought the bike from Brian at Sumet in Nothanburi. I will be in Bangkok through the week and see him about it.

He will know if I have been done or not.

14k ..... you gotta be joking, that's everything replaced except the frame!

It's only 6k for a complete engine rebuild.

It certainly tastes like whisky to me and nothing like Sangsom which says Rum on the label, Hong Thong label doesn't mention Rum or whisky

"Hong Thong. Smooth and easy drinking, Hong Thong is a golden spirit made from molasses at the renowned Bangyikhan Distillery near Bangkok. The name 'Hong Thong' translates into 'Golden Phoenix'."

Hong Thong is whisky, SangSom is rum. Laphroiag is swill, apparently.

A Scottish millionaire ( golfing acquaintance ) once set me up with half a dozen of the finest malts in Scotland. Damned if I could taste any difference. He narrowly avoided apoplexy when I mentioned I usually drank whisky with Diet Coke. Guess I am a Philistine.

Pretty sure Hong Thong is blended rum as I don't like whiskey.

Made from molasses = rum as far as I'm concerned.

(Although I've found another place that says it's made from Molasses and grain, which would be in the middle)

Youtube. It's not hard just back and forth with a file at the correct angle. There are markings on the teeth of the chain that give you the correct angle.

Agreed, get a Chainsaw file and sharpen it yourself after every other use and it doesn't take long.

They really do require frequent sharpening.

You may be right. When I used to drink Benmore, the 1 litre bottle was cheaper unit cost than the 700 mL, although that may have been imported.

I remember the Benmore sets at HotShots under the PornPing tower.

    500bht for a bottle and 4 mixers.

    Horrible stuff .......

And does anybody really believe the banks in our home countries are much saver if there is a real crash of the international financial system?

I do believe the UK banks are much safer than the Thai banks, the Thai bank tellers, the Thai bank managers, the Thai police, and the Thai women we share our beds with. Not to mention if the Thai police decide to arrest you (on real or bogus charges), and Thai immigration deport you, they're more likely to take your money in a Thai bank.

That Dutch guy, who came here after selling his coffee shops being just one of many examples.

I don't so much worry about any financial systems breaking down, I do worry about a crook in Thailand taking my money from the bank, and nobody caring about recovering it because I'm just another foreigner.

Did you read the thread about the guy making the 500k house deposit, and then someone in the company stealing it, and the company claiming 'not their problem'?

  7. How about going on holiday for 6 months to a year and renting the house out.

He wouldn't be able to find you, and he couldn't move into the house.

You didn't say who the relative was ....... is it her brother?

sadly, banks here, still asking about full price or very little discount for houses that have been empty and rotting for YEARS

They're not allowed to sell for less than the amount still owed.

The laws were created to stop banks lending unreasonable amounts, it didn't work, they still loaned too much, and are now stuck with the properties.

I would think if a guy met someone he wanted to spend time with it would be difficult to be with his friends the entire time.

Am I wrong? I know I would want some alone time with a hottie. You wouldn't? You would prefer your other friends to watch? Hmmm OK! 555

Don't be too serious. It weakens the molecules.

I still need someone to explain the difference between a bedroom in a house and a small 1 room condo.

As far as I can see they're practically the same.

Nobody forces the guy in the house to sit in the living room all the time, if at all.
