I don't necessarily think that it is best to assume it's only a cracked rib and send you home with pain pills. My experience in Thailand is that they would order an X-Ray, and take it from there. I don't know where you were the the hospitals near me are pretty right on and possibly more thorough than in the US.

They don't treat cracked ribs, if one's broken you can see it's out of line.

    No need for x-rays.

Just a quick remark; contracts and agreements between husband and wife are not legally binding. Any other party (or the government) can contest it and the contract gets invalidated by the court.

Agreements between husband and wife may be cancelled unilaterally by either party.

That doesn't mean they aren't valid, or any other party can contest it.

Just not binding between the husband and wife.

am due to fly to the UK three weeks tomorrow but am now very worried that I will not be fit to travel.

I am taking painkillers every six hours to control the pain.

Adult diapers or have a catheter fitted.

Local government hospital will fit a catheter and bag for around 300bht.

Not great, but at least you'll be able to move around and fly.

I bought myself some fisherman's pants when I had to wear a catheter, really good for hiding the bag.

Having lived in both Vietnam and Cambodia, I would choose Phnom Penh over HCM or Hanoi.
Easier to get a 1 year visa through an agent, and then you just adapt to the city life. Lots of great restaurants , French and Khmer food.
I would still miss Bangkok . But personally I don't have to worry about moving.

Lots of decent Indian restaurants as well.

Not to mention you can get cannabis as a pizza topping.

n the big scheme of things, getting hustled out of a hundred dollars or whatever is no big deal, it is almost certainly less than you paid for your air ticket, it should not be something that ruins your whole trip. Sadly, for most people, it feels like a punch in the stomach and, when they tell their friends about it, or share their experience on social media, it does untold damage to a country's reputation.

I hardly ever pay more than $100 for flights.

My last trip CNX to Da Nang return (July) was 2,500bht.

My next trip CNX to Hanoi return (October) was 2,900bht.

Hotel rooms $10-$15/night, free VISA waiver on entry, Vietnam is cheap as chips!

And I make sure any flights I take arrive well before 5pm.

Arriving late at night is just poor planning.

s it stands, Vietnamese airports are pretty good - for instance, you can get Grab to pick you up at the HCMC airport without any problems, which is not possible at Chiang Mai airport - but there is certainly some nonsense with taxis in the smaller Vietnamese airports that are so important for driving growth in less developed regions.

Never been to a Viet airport that didn't have a bus service into the town centre.

Hanoi is most expensive at $2, HCMC $1, and Da Nang 25c.

Was there a sly crossover from racial equality to cultural equality? When did multiculturalism become a buzz word? Is multiculturalism a one way street that is fundamentally anti western or even anti white? Afghanistan and Thailand are clearly not multicultural but is this to their benefit or detriment? I welcome people's considered opinions.

I think it all failed at sexual equality.
