Pleased for you and yes the added bookis and other stuff too and pocket money and ours is not a Government school but nice that you Daughter going to help you when your money dries up. I keep telling this to our two!!! 30,000 plus for one term for one student.
Nobody forces you to send your children to private school.
My advice to everyone, learn to live within your means.
If you ain't rich, your kids must attend government school.

Would it be different in a Manchester bedsit?
This is the way retired men live all over the world.

IAM TALKING ABOUT tHAILAND EDUCATION OK 30K PER TERM AND RISING FOR EACH STUDENT
Thailand,
My 8 year old costs 6k/term for the uniforms/books/extras in the Amphur government school.
My 20 year old costs 10k/term plus 1,000bht/week in 'living expenses' at CMR University.
Two terms a year,
Not all that expensive IMHO, and only just over a year of university left, then she says she'll be paying to support me.

Well it is not and do you know education for one very very expensive. Sorry impossible to live on that.
Education until age 19 is free in the UK.
University is optional, and dad doesn't have to pay for it.

But for sure, especially a YOUNG lady with an older man would be a red flag (MONEY !!!) anywhere in the world.
I'm 60+,
Please explain this to me ............
why would I want a woman that wasn't MUCH younger than me?

Very far wide of the mark. Bars mostly run later these days than they ever did under the Purachai era, and clubs very late most nights, with no need to seek recourse at some dodgy 4th floor lock-in. The nightlife still thrives - the negative is the prices nowadays.
N-Pub,
I never made it past happy hour (5-7pm) buy one for 20Kvnd, get one free.
Then home to watch a movie (my apartment had Fox Movies) in bed.

That was just a song. Everyone has something to lose, even if it's only life.
Death would be a welcome freedom to not worry about the value of the pound*

Correct. A man is only free if he does not care what other people think about him.

I don't know which Danang you visited, many high end nightclubs as well as expat bars etc. No it's not Miami nightlife, but anything from boring, and there is a decent number of western tourists, things are changing there very very quickly.
Yep, we must have gone to different Da Nangs,
All the expats I met there were single sad losers (teachers), and a few miserable western married couples (retired).
Maybe 1 in 1,000 western to Asian tourists.

Doesn't matter how you pick your data, 5% variance doesn't matter, the uncomfortable truth is the USD/Euro/Pound will likely all be trading at the same price in the near future, probably 25 Thai Baht, and the AUD,NZD,CND probably 16 Thai Baht.
No point in gloating about how well your currency is doing, they're all getting flushed at the same time.
For the Euro/Pound, they'll both continue to fall until Brexit is over one way or the other.
Learn to economise or leave.

Not expats - Britons. The Euro and other western currencies are also low, but hasn´t fallen more than 30% like the GBP. Britons, say "thank you" to the Brexiters. And it will become worse for you.
Canada dollar, Australian Dollar and NZ Dollar have fallen more than the UK pound.

It will slide until the UK has left or remained.

Not true,
Most of the crowds trucked in by the vans are non-white, non-western.

Is half a kilo of TNT louder than a full kilo of gunpowder?
A lot louder (although you probably mean dynamite).
"TNT is most commonly assumed to be the same as (or confused for) dynamite, largely due to the ubiquity of both explosives during the 20th century and the civilian practice of preparing dynamite charges in 8x1" "sticks" wrapped in red waxed paper and shaped to fit the cylindrical boreholes drilled in the rock face. This incorrect connection between TNT and dynamite was enhanced by Bugs Bunny cartoons where animators started labeling any kind of cartoon bomb (ranging from sticks of dynamite to kegs of black powder) as "TNT" because the acronym was shorter, more memorable and didn't require literacy to recognize "TNT" meant "bomb" (similar to the use of XXX markings on whiskey bottles and barrels in cartoons). This eventually led to the general perception that TNT and dynamite were one and the same."

I would have to take my wife as well. How can we get minimum income of £20k? Do you have a link?
Nope, you can't take your wife.
But benefits, tax credit, and housing allowance easily guarantee a minimum of 20k if you're working 16hr/week (even if it's selling on Ebay as an independent trader). You should get more because of the kids disability.
If you move back as a single guy, you'll get nothing.

but cannot take family because of UK immigration rules.
You can take your children, father with 2 kids gets you a minimum income of 20,000 UK pounds.
If one of your kids has a medical disability, I would have thought she would be better off in the UK.
Or you could economise and learn to live on less here.
If you already own your own home, 15-20kbht/month should be achievable.

Last time I went my USD was rejected although it looked fine to me. I am going next week and again have USD in good condition (my opinion)
Is the exchange booth open early do you know just in case? (I never noticed it last time).
Do they exchange them for free or ?.
Thank you.
Exchange booth is at the back of the building that just rejected your $$$s.
No charge for the service.
Why not take $100 in 10s with you, then they can pick and choose to their hearts content.

Thank you for your replies. The problem is not just the visa. As a family we no longer have enough each month. We are now at about 35kv each month. I underdtand the pound my drop more. I need to get income to send to thailand to supplement private pension and support family. If i can earn enough in uK to keep myself and send 10k a month to the family it will be ok until state pension kicks in.
35Kbht sounds plenty.
I can live on that including an 11k/month mortgage and one of my kids at university.
Why do you need more?

Savannakhet Thai Consulate absolutely thronged with people
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Not true, most of the queue is non-white, non-western.
Lots of Filipino workers, Koreans, Indians, Viets, generally 3rd world citizens working in Thailand.
