and not all mistakes are a rip off only if its intentional.
For every 1 mistake in my favour, they make 20 mistakes in their favour.
A statistical anomaly if it's unintentional.

Yes changed my post to the last time I came through SUV.
I'm old, I'm allowed to post daft stuff.
You're right, I was wrong.

KSK, there's a photo and frame shop opposite the underground ATMs outside with the m/c park.

Some people see ripoffs and cheating in everything and mistakes are always intentional and all Thais are out to get them. Others just live their live and don't seem to be affected that much.
Dunno if all the short-changing is intentional but I always wait with my hand out until the correct money is placed into it. Invariably they do, without me mentioning the nature or amount of the error.
Which leads me to certain conclusions.
I do the same with too much change being given, keep my hand held out, they think about it then correct the mistake. So I may be wrong about the short-changing.

Maybe, one should carry their own ice-creams to a movie theater to save some money or been ripped off?
Or use a bit of self control and have the ice cream after the movie.

Came through SUV about 3 months back, nobody in the main immigration area, VOA area was jam packed, Pass on to CNX booth had 1 person in front of me. Guess I've just been lucky.

Years ago, someone accused me of dating a student. After work, I would go shopping and retire to my hotel room. No meals with ladies of any age.
What would be wrong with dating a student?
I married one.

Should I contact the management company headquarters to file a complaint? I called the American Embassy in Bangkok. They said I can email a report to them. But maybe it will just be a waste of time.
You should call a Thai lawyer and sue the manager for defamation.
There's lots of money to be made from this.
Thais courts award $$$$$s for the most trivial of defamation cases.

I don't see any evidence of surgery, it doesn't say broken bones.
More like stitches and road rash from the looks of the bandages.

Alternative idea,
Stop ripping tourists off by putting them in expensive private hospitals.

any good nearby islands to visit for snorkeling etc ?
I certainly wouldn't consider living there, too quiet, too small. Great for a weekend break from HCMC.
All my pals ended up in Phnom Penh, which fits your proposed needs much better, and a very easy 1 year VISA..
My second choice would be Barretto, Olongapo, which has a nice beach, and also easy VISA.
Vietnam at the moment could only ever be a holiday destination for me.

Seems to be a big bill for what appears to be minor injuries.
I'd like to see what cost them 300k+
My misses just arraigned for an old Dutch guy to be fixed up after falling off his m/c.
30k for the hospital (broken hip) paid by insurance, 25k for a month in a care home while he's plastered paid by him.

would you be prepared to overlook a visibly tattooed person?
In a bar, adventure sports, armed forces, engineering works or other entertainment business yes.
In a bank or office, no.

i dont have a prob with oz oil rig workers--nz same same ??
do the bar girls and local people, speak much english ??
are girls, beer, food cheaper than BKK or pattaya ??
i dont surf, but my son does --- is there anywhere in vietnam with reasonable size waves ??
do the local girls like oldies, like me- 68...
im not overly slim or hansum, but have no problem getting very beautiful or young girls in thailand...
I had female English speaking company at every bar I entered, just drinks, chat and pool (I'm just over 60).
English speakers, same as Pattaya some do, some don't, but generally better conversational skills.
A beer in MK 'girlie bar' was 50,000vnd (about 60bht), but from 7-9pm it was BOGOF, so 30bht a beer, lady drinks $5 (100kvnd)
Beer in normal bars is around 20k-25kVND, under 30bht.
I was buying a pizza for $5 (100kvnd).

Or just maybe because the EU didn't want to negotiate a deal for the UK that would make it too tempting for others to leave?
Does anyone apart from the UK, Germany, France contribute anything worth keeping?

In 2009, Pattaya ST was 500bht, and I had a pension of 50,000bht to spend.
In 2019, Pattaya ST is 1,500bht, and I have a pension of 38,000bht to spend.
Unless my pension suddenly increases to 150,000bht, I won't be visiting Pattaya ever again.
I'm betting there's few posters whose Baht value of their pensions have risen significantly since 2009.
Nothing more needs to be discussed, we white folk are all in the same boat, and it's sinking fast.

That's what Brexiters were promising before the referendum. How has that worked out so far?
Not so well as Treason May was doing the bargaining, and everyone knew she wasn't going to leave.
Boris should be able to negotiate a few $$$$$$s for himself for not leaving.

Odd that all the drunk losers appear to be slim and young.
I would have expected someone older, larger and balder.

3) perhaps you should consider that the UK was not only paying, but also receiving princely from the EU
The EU is a socialist state, the 3 richest (Germany, UK, France) pay for the other 24.
With the UK out, that's 1/3 of their income gone, and France is so impoverished you can buy a hobby farm for 20,000 euros.
I actually don't ever believe the UK will leave, they'll do a deal to buy Boris and Co. off.
Can't see how Germany can afford not to do a deal at any price.
But it's great to dream.
As for the value of the pound, put interest rates up to 7% and it'll do well.

2 hours ago, murraynz said:thanks very much, ive been googling a bit about Vung Tau --it realy appeals.
Not many restaurant choices in Vung Tau, and nearly all Asian.
A cluster of girlie bars around front beach, so many girls in them and no customers it's a bit intimidating.
I walked into on small bar, 20 ladies turned and watched me, I turned around and walked back out.
Pretty girls though and all over 18.
Action is all centered on MK Bar, a family bar and restaurant outside, then inside the darkened glass room, girls, and a few ladyboys. All the other bars are within 100m of this place. Happy hour 7-9, drinks buy one get one free. Lots of Oz oil worker expats living there.
Back beach is really beautiful, the sand is covered in sea shells.
People over 63 get a discounted ticket on the ferry from HCMC.

'Misogyny' is the word for men who hate women.
'Sensible' is the word for men who mistrust women.
If I hated women, I wouldn't have had sex with quite so many of them.
