yeah ... but he's matured now, he's unemployed, 20k saved, 31 years old and wants to retire in Thailand so he can sleep with all the bar girls .... what could possible go wrong ??
I wish I'd thought of doing that when I was 31.
That would have saved me 20 wasted years with a frigid Brit wife.
I had to wait until I was over 50 to experience frequent dirty sex with multiple young female partners.

When Cambodia takes revenge against retired EU expats, I hope he'll remember we Brits don't like the EU either.
Maybe the UK could do a trade deal with him.

Seems the rum with coke and ice is the only good cheap deal, too bad that would result in drinking alone, not needed for me in that case.
Happy to share some with another drinker though.Red Cock Vodka is half the price of Hong Thong, 150bht for 700ml from Tesco.
Vodka Mojito's go down well.

That's almost a full load!
Nah, you can easily fit 30, with some stools in the middle and a few more hanging from the rear cage.

I'm in SanSai too, plenty of 7-11s and mom & pop stores to drink outside.
I pass out after 3 large Changs, so maximum spend under 200bht.
Although, I can reduce the spend a bit more with a small Hong Thong (160bht) rum and 2l coke (40bht).
That'll last me two afternoons.

It is possible when you are retired and living very simply;
and preferably away from the flicker of nightlife;
but not at 31!720 pounds is 29,000bht/month.
That's 3x the wage of a Thai shop worker.
I've known loads of foreign guys living here on 20k/month quite happily.
Although VISAs were always a bit of a problem, I'd have gone to the Philippines on that sort of money though.
I live here on 10k/month + housing, it's my Thai family pushing up the costs to 40k/month.

Doesn't the UK also; send out their private investigators (and recruit neighbours) to character assess/spy on Veterans Affairs recipients/applicants?
also maybe someone can do a reverse engineered calcualtion on:
- what 717gbp/months relates to?
wrt Rank at time of Discharge/Years in Service/Salary up to date of Discharge?
- what levels of Medical Disability pension are provided by the Veteran Dept?
- do they Pension as a % a specific Member's Service?
- do they pension as a formulated % of the National bench of The Basic Wage of the average UK citizen?
I never understand envy like this.
It's nothing to do with you, why are you so concerned?
Your life will be better if you stop wishing harm on others.
And my life will be better with you on ignore.

It's odd really, you'd think he would be happy we're still here.
But no, he wants us out as well.
Can't beat Thai thinking!

As far as I'm concerned, if you can squeeze money out of your government, falsely or truthfully, good luck to you.

but where is it written that 'OP' left due to any Injury and/or has a Medical pension?
The UK Services: a member can simply leave it, after a minumum 2 years service
- and get his/her 'army' pension.
I searched twice for something about a Spine injury??
2 years service gets you entitlement to a military pension payable at state retirement age.
To get anything age 31, you would need to be on disability.

To return to the gentleman's questions;
at 31, I would try to work a little more; let's say 30 more years.
eg leaving for Canada where there is a glaring shortage of manual workers with the bonus of substantial wages.
For an English it will be very easy to emigrate there and with this interesting salary come to have fun in Thailand from time to time. Most soldiers with a medical pension can't work because their injuries won't allow it.
That's why they are given a pension at such a young age.
You think someone shot in the spine can do a manual job?

Unanswered in the OP article is why the driver couldn't simply return the unaccepted food to the restaurant and get a refund of whatever money he had fronted, given that the delivery had been rejected. Is it really the policy of the restaurant to hold the driver responsible for COD orders that are refused at the door?
It is if he was 3 hours late.

As for the Nirvana Beyond by Nong Prajak with the houses at 25M baht - 60Million, it's all a bit odd. However, I walk past there very often, & they don't appear to be selling.

Any thoughts on what's going on with the housing market in Udon?
Probably money laundering, they borrow 70% of the building and land purchase cost, build with inflated costs and bogus 3rd party contractors. All the money the contracting companies and building companies earn is clean. No need to repay the loans, the bank can foreclose.

The girls are not sending the money home as before and I've heard stories of some being locked up trying to get into Sth. Korea.
My niece tried that last week, arrived in Korea on a Thursday, and immigration put her on the return flight on Friday.
She said she was locked in a room with 30 other Thai girls, flight back was 5kbht.

Benefits are for people living in the UK, how hard is that to understand?
Move back to the UK with your kid and you can claim them too.

Our village (Mae Thalop, near Chaiprakan) will soon have a "mini-marathon" to sponsor the local hospital to buy some new machines. My GF already bought the sponsor shirts. And told me if I wanted to, I can join the run.
Will you get free health care if you support them?
Will they let you enter parks for the same price as Thais?
Else why bother.

Decent hard working people would probably like small-time criminals all shot in the head.
Petty crime is a huge, life altering problem in the western world, but almost non-existent in Thailand.

Never heard if IVF? Look it up. With IVF a man of your high caliber will never need to lower yourself to need to have your quality - and surely outstanding - sexual appendage touching one of those despicable women again - if ever.
40% of potential US citizens get aborted.
Italy is probably a bit lower, but the problem appears to be many western women just don't want to have babies.
Western civilisation and equality gives them choices, and their choice is often not to breed with us.
Maybe the Pope was right about abortion and contraception?
All this 'off topic' talk of food has given me the urge to make pizza for lunch.

RARGB torrent has everything.
You might have to wait 24hrs from first broadcast.
Watching what 'they' want, when 'they' choose to broadcast it is a thing of the past.

Yes I get that , but nor I or millions of Thais have a phone or a phone with an app to pay like that.
You're wrong about the Thais.
As for security, you'd need my phone and my fingerprint to make any payments.
And then my phone gets a confirmation SMS about the payment.
Hard to see a way someone else could access my account.

I don't have a checking account only a savings account. So whether I pay at my bank or at the bank of the receiver , I have to pay cash to send it to the receiver.
I doubt all Thais have the means to pay online .
How do they pay water and electricity ?
All free using the phone app to transfer or pay.
I don't know any Thais without a smart phone, my misses usually pays everything using her phone app, I pay my 3bb bills, scan the QR code on the bill screen, press pay.

First time i check in here in Thailand
in Bangkok
Posted
Sometimes but rarely, it's usually easier to just choose another hotel.
I would just say no.
The last 30-40 hotels I stayed at with Booking.com, Agoda, AirBnB haven't asked, and wouldn't have got.
I doubt the entire door in a Thai 3* hotel would be worth 600bht.
