To make a significant change, if indeed that is possible, I believe that the world's population and consumption levels have to fall massively and fast - the planet cannot sustain current levels.

    Off topic but not true.

There's no world shortage of food (or anything else), it's just some people can't afford to pay for it, and farmers don't work for free. As for population levels, many countries have falling population (including Thailand), it's just some countries that need to fall.

BTW the micro inverter you posted in the other thread had only 1 input as far as I could see and 2 panels might provide too much voltage for it since you'd need to put them in series which would easily generate 60+V and I saw in the specs of it a very narrow voltage range of 30-40V.

    It takes 2 in parallel.

Nonsense. The baht is at least 10% stronger against any major currency, literally meaning every single Thai export product is now 10% more expensive compared to alternatives from other countries. It's a complete no-brainer that this is the reason Thai exports are suffering. And now with China devaluing the Yuan it'll just makes things worse.

    As another thread pointed out

    Thai Hom Mali rice $1,200

    Viet Hom Mali rice $550

Who's daft enough to buy the Thai rice?

  4. Assume you will get between between 1/2-1 unit a day per 330w solar panel (2m x 1m).

(I get 1/2 but another poster thinks he get 1)

Then work out how many units you use a day to calculate the number of panels you need.

Panels cost 4k, grid tie inverter cost 4k and can take 2 panels.

You can buy more expensive GTIs, but the costs remain fairly constant.

Really? I seem to remember my MIL paying quite a bit for x-rays to diagnose her kidney stones at Ubon hospital.

100-200bht for a foreigner in my local hospital.

Were you asked to contribute to your MiLs x-ray fees by any chance?

Should have been totally free if it was her local hospital.

Try to put it in a place with as little shadows as possible and angle it.

There's no shadows because there's no sun.

When it's raining it generates 0W/hr.

In full daylight but no sun it generates 60W/hr.

In full daylight with clear sun it generated 230W/hr but that happened at about 9:30am just the once.

I'm theorising that the 4 months of smog will get me 60W/hr.

    I'm amazed you're getting 1 unit/panel on a rainy day, when I only get 1/2.

I only paid 7k for my entire 1 panel system, what did you pay?

Your single panel should give you more than one unit per day. The cheap inverter will eat quite a bit of your output, According to its specs it has a max efficiency of 89% which is far from great. Real world loss maybe even more than 15%.

Only been getting an hour of sun (with shadows) a day. been overcast the whole week, with rain.

Been like that nearly 2 weeks now, no drought here, monsoon in full force.

The sewage should be treated then disposed of. Septic tanks under a house is crazy, it mean the toxic sewage gas and mold is going right up into your building! It is why most building have a toxic mold problem.

Never seen a septic tank under a house.

Mine is in the back garden and vented, the grey water is piped off and treated by the moobaan.
