  1. We had some problems latter half of last year. Voltage dropping erratically 100~225v then back to normal, every time it happened the inverter reset on low input and it was going on some days every 3 or 4 minutes so didn't do much generation. Anyways it quietened down for a few weeks so I suspected it was just poor power management by our supplier at the time. In the end house went black and it was the only one on the street in that scenario. I thought either the meter or under road cabling until I got the detector out and realised we just had no power to the meter. They responded quickly (about 7 hours). Turned out there was a loose connection in the local junction box on their side just outside the moo baan. Tightened the connection and has been perfect ever since. When I think about it .....had been going on for quite some time, I guess it was arcing and welding the cable in place again. Lol. Had me confused and still don't quite understand how only we were affected. It's white man's magic that electrical stuff. Lol. Back to my beer. Best PR3
  2. Limescale deposits (and soap scum) can be removed easily with a 25% phosphoric acid to 75% water mix but wear gloves and mask as it irritates the air passages. You can buy it cheap on Lazada amd mix yourself as I do. As other posters have mentioned you likely need a water softener putting into the water supply. Maybe good to get it tested to see what deposits are present.
  3. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.PLPQ3 You'll have to know what frequency the remote works on in order to get the correct model if interested.
  4. I'm not sure about Chiang Mai sorry. I bought some remotes of Lazada what copy the signal of the original. Used them on the old Foresee gate motor and the new RSE one too and they work great. Cost about 50 baht each from China. Batteries included.
  5. Honda Forza is sold. FWIW I got 62000 baht in the end. PR3
  6. FIL has a large retention pond, I once asked why he doesn't do a second crop, he said not worth it, no one else does two locally; so any rice loving pests be it birds or bugs congregate there and damage the crop, also its hard to find a harvest crew that is interested in doing a combine job on one farm as its not really worth it to them unless you pay over the odds. Sounds plausible to me
  7. Sometimes there's a one way valve fitted between the house pressurised pipework and the mains. They sometimes start to fail (water back pasees);and the pump switches on occasionally just to repressurise the house circuit. Why you would consider someone to be dodgy because he smokes tobacco and takes his shirt off if he's hot is quite amusing. Don't be so judgemental it's the tropics it's hot and many males smoke here.
  8. Weigh 620g of water into the same bottle and see if it arrives at the same level, sorry if someone posted this already.
  9. My wife has one on order, I also don't understand the fuss, probably because I'm old..lol. To be fair though; Apple connectivity is very good between devices and she uses an Apple desktop for her business so it makes sense. She offered to give me her 13 promax but I'm really not interested, it's heavy, large and wasted on me. I still have a perfect iPhone 4 which for me was the nicest phone ever made but only used as a music player these days. I use an S9 plus Samsung it's ancient but does everything I need easily and rarely carry it about anyways. If I want to browse the Web use a tablet. Ah well to be young and fashionable, those years are in the past for me but good luck to those who can afford it ahd want to look special.
  10. I don't really plan anything anymore, any plans I had mostly were bolloxxxes up one way or another. If it wasn't for chance and taking a punt I'd still be stuck in the small town in England renting a room and living it week to week.
  11. I had bugger all to sell, an old porche 944s and a zx9r, had a tech job at a local factory in Longridge what paid local wages (not a lot Lol). Never bought a house, every time I saved up approaching what would be enough deposit for a housing loan the goal posts moved because prices kept on upwards. To be fair I spent most my meagre income on motorbikes and beer anyway..Lol Went to work in the Middle East and came here for a holiday, loved it and moved here. Messed up a few times along the way but happy and settled now and a kept man. So yes, I'm all in, I do have a cold weather long coat in the UK, the suit I wore when I buried my Dad, pair of shoes and some undies etc. It's normal to worry about taking a chance and too easy to find an excuse not to do anything risky. I say get on with it, life's short. If it all goes wrong I'll just have to find another adventure. The end is the same for every living soul, regardless of what you have. There's no pockets in a coffin. Time for another health destroying beer. PR3
  12. I guess it allows you to evade red light jumping fines since they show the rear of the vehicle the traffic light simultaneously. Also handy for hit and runs I expect. I see them all the time in KK city, you'd thing the cops would do something but they must be way way too busy with more important things.
  13. Agree with transam, every vehicle I've ever bought here the tyres leave the showroom at the max pressure shown on the tyre wall, which gives an interesting ride. I recently bought an adv350, the first thing I did when getting home was check the tyre pressure and remove 7 and 9 psi from the front and back respectively. No idea why this seems to be so common here. Always check too after a service, sometimes they come back over inflated again. You're always or often up against the "that's the way I does it" technicians here. And having a decent tyre pressure gauge is a must living in LOS. Regards PR3
  14. I paid the requested sinsot when I got married to my wife, as her brother did when he married his, and when my brother in law did when he married my wife's sister. Ultimately we have a choice as foreigners to go with the flow or not. I've never been asked for anything since in 13 years. Sometimes it's just a cultural thing and we do or don't accept it, and sometimes parcels of land are given to the married couple in leiu of the payment. I didn't look at it any other way than pleasing the cultural side of things and because I didn't want my chosen life partner to have to feel uncomfortable in such circumstances. Sometimes better to look at it as a down-payment for what may be bequeathed in the future. Or just to accept the financial hurdle to get what you both want as a couple. We're not in the West, and having Western principles in Isaan specially doesn't cut it so well a lot of the time. Although I expect its not exclusive to this region in some cases. PR3
  15. Also the peripheral vision test which was new here in kk when i renewed recently... correction...it wasn't there 5 years ago when I did my last one so it may well have been a requirement for a while now.
  16. I bought an ADV350 with one years free insurance, but it's not 1st class it's for theft only according to the missus.
  17. Also forgot to say location Khon Kaen City Thx
  18. Forgot to mention; registration, test and basic insurance expires end of April 2024.
  19. Selling my Honda Forza Gen1 2013. Owned by myself since new. Has covered 15418km, tall screen fitted (original included in sale) new brake pads fitted last week. Variator and clutch just inspected, cleaned and serviced, belt still good. YSS fork kit partly fitted (preload adjusters and PD valves too). Springs original as i found the YSS ones a bit firm for my tastes. Original fork parts included in sale along with the YSS springs. Bike had full lube service and filters including transmission oil at 12000 km Other spares included are... Oil (filter only) and air filters for next service. front fork seals x 2 pairs. Transmission oil. Pair of Cambo rear gas shocks (I didn't like them too firm for my tastes) fitted for a year before changing back to originals which are still good. 1 x rear hugger and fitting kit, never got round to putting it on. New dust and oil seals fitted 2 weeks ago when forks were stripped internal parts cleaned and rebuilt. No accidents and no faults other than: The blue LED back-light that lights up the fuel consumption and odometer died in 2017, can still read in daytime but not at night as its an LCD gauge. There is a small scratch which I touched up but is still visible on the rear grab rail. Other than that its like it was when I bought it. Bike has been serviced more than Hondas recommendations, first service was carried out by them and the fuel pump recall was also done. I'm a qualified maintenence technician so have fastidious cared for it since. Therefore there is not a stamped up service logbook for anyone that is fussy. Bike comes with original documentation and both sets of keys. Reason all the work was done is because of the waiting list for ADV350 was months and wanted to keep the old girl in tip top shape and make ready for selling later this year. Anyways I managed to buy one this week from another shop. Any questions or enquiries either p.m. me or call on 0879197375. Price is 69,000 baht and quite firm but will entertain serious offers. It's a good and genuine example of a mostly standard Gen1 Forza and recommend viewing and riding if possible.
  20. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.kdgfA Cheap and cheerful 110l/min.
  21. Depending on how large the garden pond is; there are a large selection of 220v submersible pumps on Lazada to choose from. Some of them will do 20 m3 an hour amd not too pricey.
  22. Just read an article that states the official proce will be announced later and will not be more than 200000 baht, so expect 199999 Lol
  23. Smallest I could find was this 15 litre one, has performed well so far no complaints, there probably is a smaller one but I never got lucky in my searches. Just plugs into a domestic socket. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.9HStm
  24. Pressure wash, then seal it with a water proofer...no more green slippery stuff. I did outside 4 years ago and had to again this year as there were small patches coming back. Best thing I ever did and keeps everything looking fresh for ages.
  25. Makro KK this morning no Meiji at all and very few of the other better known brands, just some new brand and lots of it; all the labelling in Thai so cannot even establish the name, I bought some and sadly its not particularly pleasant. Hope the Meiji comes back soon.
