  1. I can't give advice on something which is of great importance to you as in your relationship. However I can tell a story.... many years ago I had a similar situation with a long term gf who wouldn't pick up the phone and had all manner of bs excuses as to why she wasn't available, flat battery flat tyres etc etc. I sort of stuck my head in the sand and hoped for the best as I wasn't ready to deal with what I thought maybe have been going on. Because of this I never found out she was messing around with other guys until one of them got so jealous (I spent more time with her) he sent me pictures of them together one of them in the bedroom too. Needless to say the relationship went south and of course cost a few quid too. Not suggesting that's going on in your case at all and try not to think that. You do need to find out where she's going and what she's doing. Since she makes all sorts of excuses already I'm not sure you'll get any honesty if you ask but you know her and I don't. Really; you need to know what's going on for the sake of peace of mind and to give you some sort of direction. I hope its just gambling and nothing else. Good Luck I hope you work it out. PR3
  2. https://www.central.co.th/en/carplan-car-plan-t-cut-car-wax-kn-66233-ctu-size-500-ml-500-cds16658868 Lazada does the t-cut wax in the blue bottle
  3. @brianthainess got the last 2 bottles. Since you have experience with this product please clarify something if you dont mind. Am I correct in understand you don't polish it off after application; or is there a line of text missing from the instructions on the bottle? Thanks PR3
  4. @brianthainess thanks for the tip about diff glass coating, I'm off to big C I fancy trying that out.
  5. That's a good price. After it's done and if succesful you should only need to give a fresh coat of wax occasionally. Try not to wash the car with anything that'll strip the wax or it will start to fade again. I did all the detailing for a local car sales company in the UK for many years, you don't have to spend a fortune on fancy stuff to keep your car looking good, there's a lot of poor products out there just a matter of trying them out, trying to find a decent wax that comes off on warm days was the hardest. To be fair I'm in KK I'm sure there are better choices in BKK etc.
  6. @JeffersLos 500gramme tin will be enough. Before you start buying things have a simple check with some Jif bathroom cleaning cream or similar and give it a good rub to make sure its actually going to lift the oxidisation. What colour is the car BTW? Unfortunately if it doesn't have any effect you may as the person above says be in repaint territory.
  7. I never heard of a product that does that (leave on for a hour and its good again) but maybe there is one I've been out of that game for 20 years or more. I expect you'll likely have to use a rubbing compound to break through the oxidisation. It's hard work but worth the effort. If your car is red, be aware that many older Honda reds had paint fade and it doesn't always improve, my forza has the same problem just replaced the affected panels after i couldn't buff the pink tinge out. There are quite a few rubbing compounds available and they all pretty much do the same thing, I use a product called Solar and that's quite good IMO. Just be careful on any corners as it can rub through quite easily if you go too hard. After that a good coat of a decent wax will help keep the shine. I think some car wash outfits will likley offer it as a service, alternatively body paint shops have the kit to do that sort of thing. No idea of the cost though sorry. You can do yourself but without a polishing machine it can be tough going (depending on how bad it is), good luck in any case. PR3
  8. Hmmmm, I can imagine it may be okay for meatballs, burgers and that kind of thing providing they add some fat off a slaughtered animal. There are many different cuts of meat on an animal and different people enjoy the choice of a different cut too, how do you suppose there will be a t-bone steak created for instance. Or wagyu beef, maybe a million nanobots massaging the s**t out of it in a test tube whilst its growing. I'm all for saving the world from cow farts and stuff, but there is of course other considerations to be taken into account, such as the financial impact on the staff involved in the relevant industries what support animal farming. Ultimately its down to the consumer, its good to have an alternative for those who are against animal cruelty and would rather buy a product not associated with such things. But I hope there will be the real thing available too which of course it always will be in my lifetime at least. I'm sure it will grow as an industry, whether it'll replace the traditional meat industry is another matter. I see it in the realms of organic produce, I doubt it'll ever be able to compete on price with traditional meat unless there are environmental taxes levied on animal farming. Anyways back to my coffee PR3
  9. Same product a little less money: https://s.lazada.co.th/s.QiIc1 PR3
  10. Fire premiums aren't that aggressive; but theft and the others are (or so the quotes go) so I'd deffo consider basic building insurance if you can. it's okay to consider yourself "ready" but are you really ready? I sat outside on the veranda with a cricket bat I'd bought thinking the same way after I got threats from gik #1 and did it nightly for some time until daylight, it wasnt a good period of my time here; quite disturbing to be honest. He was a big guy judging by the photos I found of them together and was in the military which makes things a little more awkward given the influence they carry. Just make sure the best you can that your home is properly secure and try to put it behind you. Locals tend to shy away from one on one confrontation over here; if you feel you can deal with that situation it's up to you ultimately. It's not easy for anyone to defend themselves from multiple assailants. In my case no one ever turned up to cause problems but it really put the wind up me. Hope it all works out. PR3
  11. Okay brief amusing story of the past, I also got broke into, its a long time ago when I was living with my first missus. I was working in the Gulf of Mexico at the time so wasn't present. After I found out she was messing around (which wasn't a rare thing for those who work in the offshore industry at the time) I went through the hassle of getting rid of her not the house. Only afterwards did I find out that one Gik had broken into the house hoping to find her with the other one and have it out. Yes I know you couldn't make it up its just so bizarre. Thus the door locking mechanism on the front sliding doors had been ripped out of the thin ally frame. I only found out because an acquaintance told me to check and told me the story of how it happened. It had been superglued (really) back in place and when I pulled hard it ripped it all apart again. After that I was single for quite some time but it made me realise that you must do your very best to beef up the windows and doors security which I did. Spent many more happy years in the same place and would never have sold it, but I eventually got married and had children needed more space so had to. I suppose the point I'm making is this, if you like the home (I adored that bungalow) spend a few quid making it harder to break in, a few security lights (PIR), latches on windows doors etc and an alarm, there are plenty of good wireless systems for handy money that support zoning etc available from Laz. It's a lot cheaper to do that than move and even more sensible if you love the place. Worked well for me, but ultimately if someone really wants to get in there's little to stop it tbh. Apologies for all the good people that probably offered the same advice, I was too lazy to read all the responses. Either way, hope it all works out for you. PR3
  12. Srinagarind hospital is a good hospital, many moons ago my son trapped his finger in a door jamb and cut/crushed it. At one of the other very well known local private hospitals we were quoted almost 3 times as much for the same surgery and stay. Turned out as I found out later at checkups the same surgeon performed the operation. Any problems I have in the future I will look at them first always. Highly recommended. PR3
  13. Was raining for hours here in KKC, first time I've sat comfortably outdoors for quite a while, 26 degrees and fresh. It's just stopped a few minutes ago, sun and humidity next no doubt
  14. I have bought many different brands over the years and the best by far have been these brands in the picture. All of these are five or more years old and still charge well, haven't swollen and perform excellently i use them in a portable electric shaver. In terms of how to tell if they're genuine. Buy them at well known reputable outlets Homepro, 7 11 and the like, if you buy online there's always the danger you'll get garbage as I can testify having done just that thinking something was a bargain and they turned out very poor performance. Regarding price; if I recall correctly they're about 100+ baht each or thereabouts. Hope you find this helpful. PR3
  15. Car washing for me also, if that doesn't work I find sweeping the leaves up in the garden from the neighbours trees often brings rain accompanied by strong winds to mess it up again.
  16. https://insideevs.com/news/668571/gotion-621-mile-battery-pack-production-start-2024/ Bit more info here
  17. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.jmJWD Could always try above shop on Lazada also. But, as is often the case here in Thailand, ss grade is 304 so no good if you live near the coast. I've often struggled to find 316, last time I got some in Singapore and brought them back. They likely are for sale somewhere, I never found them in KK yet. PR3.
  18. We (wife) rented a MG ZS in Krabi whilst on holiday a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't particularly looking forward to the experience tbh as we had some longish drives to do. I was actually very pleasantly surprised, handling and road holding were actually pretty entertaining but in a good way; engine was nippy, braking spot on, and cabin was pretty quiet too. We rented a Mitsu Expander last time and i found the MG slightly better in pretty much all aspects apart from headroom and fuel economy. After running around in it for a week; I'd say they're not a bad vehicle at all and i now understand why some people feel comfortable buying them. Wife has a HRV and it's (MG) really not that far behind in many ways, but not there quite yet. To be fair this was low mileage so no idea what they're like after a few years. I wouldn't buy one personally, but also wouldn't hesitate to rent one again. PR3
  19. And so begins the witch hunt or; the cupboard skeleton hunt if you like. I imagine the highest echelons of most societies have those; therefore it would be prudent to assume MF are quite clued up on such matters. Tit for tat (behind closed doors of course) is likely what follows. Better we have a few beers (for those who partake) and relax. It'll make good viewing either way....exciting times.
  20. Of course we are allowed to comment, whether we're brave enough to type our thoughts are another matter.
  21. First of all Best Wishes on your 75th Birthday!!! I'm sure it's not fun you have to be posting on here regarding this. Sorry to hear about your situation, you seem to be in a difficult spot there. You mentioned earlier that everything was built and paid for prior to marriage. It would be the sensible thing to speak to a reputable lawyer in this case; as far as I'm aware anything paid for etc. prior to marriage is not considered part of the settlement estate upon divorce. ( hope this is not the case ). You may have other options if you have usufruct on the property i.e. rent it out and live elsewhere (if you decide to divorce) off the proceeds. For me I'd have turned my back as soon as she disappeared with the guy for 2 weeks. That sort of behaviour says a lot about someone. But totally understand if your financial situation doesn't allow such a move. Either way try enjoy your Birthday and seek legal advice, no-one should have to live with the sword of damocles hanging over them. I wish you the very best of luck try not to get too stressed over it. Regards PR3
  22. Our bill was about the same as last year's according to the meter reading the night before, about 1100 kwh or thereabouts. But the solar also made around 400+ units too. So would have been a considerable increase. We haven't had a finalised bill yet as they think somethings amiss with the readings. 555. Perhaps someone has seen something they shouldn't have...eeek
