  1. I think your logic is flawed, the premium is based on the cover advertised, if the actual claims fall below the premium limit the company profits, conversely they dont pay over the limit if the claim is over the limit.
  2. Particularly since the B300 per person entry is about to come in. Do the sum total tourists/entries X B300 =$$$ less say 0.49% who may abscond without paying the hospital bill. No brainer as to who is in front by a mile
  3. Terrible supposition on your part (4myEgo) you cannot know about this guy, he cared for her needs but his final reaction was very wrong. Better to express empathy for both.
  4. Many big bike riders now tuck the number plate back under the seat where it cannot be read. Still maintain that the same rule for cars, "number plates front and rear" should be applied to motor bikes. Make it law and the manufacturers will find a way. Then cameras will pick them up just as they do cars. Note for file: 80% of road deaths are motor bike riders. Enforcement by camera may help reduce the toll.
  5. My experience with Shopee terrible two occasions orders from China incomplete. After using chat line was blocked, wrote to H.O here Bangkok. Was told block was error. Second occasion proof of error could not be added to the request form, sent all documents by mail to H.O Bangkok. All emails to them then blocked. Have now deleted Shopee totally from my list of on-line suppliers. Will never use them again.
  6. How do you show for Thai pass 2 jabs here (AZ) one overseas (Pfizer) 4th jab here (Pfizer) only the first 2 show up on Mor Prom app.
  7. Hotel booking still required? please quote your source. Surely not for expat resident returning to own residence.
  8. My understanding is that the insurance cover has to be for the period of your stay, ie till the expiry date of your retirement "visa". Unless the rules have changed again.
  9. The history of the word Farang goes way back to when the first foreigners that the Thais saw were those coming across the border in the North East and they were mostly French and Thais call France Farangset so from those early days the name given to all non Thais of pale complexion was Farang. Not an offensive word.
  10. You seem to have bad information. Made an appointment to renew my passport (Retirement extension coming up). Got an appointment at Aus embassy 3 days forward, had to wait 2 week for the new passport. Just get all your ducks in a line. Only hassle IO at Chain W demanded that I get the bank to print out every page of my savings book before they would transfer data from the old to new passport. Still had 2 months to go before renewal of retirement. Advised the Aus embassy of the "new Rule" hope they will tell you otherwise 2 trips to CW to register the new passport.
  11. Went tp Bang Sue today, walk in Went to Bang Sue today, walk in no appointment, got my 4th shot Pfizer excellent service, no charge.
  12. Corruption case mate, why didnt she show up? Ah yes, she's above the law in her mind and the brother.
  13. Compare deaths to daily new cases with say Australia and Thailand's daily new cases are under reported by a factor of 10
  14. Pandemic - endemic on again off again on again off again...........................................
  15. I accept that you have only been here 2 years and maybe have seen only a limited spectrum of Thai approach to "confrontation", generally the better educated and even less educated when not drunk, will avoid face to face confrontation. In a business meeting a controversial issues will often prompt a "coffee break" where the brokers try to reach a compromise and this is then raised again in the meeting, agreed and the confrontation avoided. We foreigners should always be careful to avoid direct confrontation with Thais in normal life failure to do so can lead to unpleasant results as you suggest above
  16. If they, the police, had been there day one to enforce the law this whole issue would not have blown up, proactive rather than reactive. But TIT.
  17. So why not just obey the law, it's based on the Covid problem or have you forgotten?, current deaths 100 per day.
  18. Basic reasons for laws are they essential, are they enforceable. ? So where were Bangkok's finest at Kao San?
  19. Amazing Thailand, you speed and you get a picture of your car in the mail and the amount of fine you need to pay. Simple. On the other hand to register for the new M Flow system you need to sign the face page saying you understand every thing and will always be wrong and pay up. Then the fun starts, your gender, attach a picture of self holding your passport under your chin, then your car registration number, your address, a picture of the front, side and rear of your car. Picture of your blue book. Are you the owner if yes next stage, if no get a letter from the owner giving you permission to use the car. Passport number. Then you can proceed to the how to pay section. You will need a drink by the time you get to this stage.
  20. I find the pharmacy 2 or 3 shops past the PTT station on the corner soi 4 and Sukhumvit heading towards Ploenchit very good. Genuine pharmacist on duty.
