Dynavap vs convection vapes
Been using a Dynavap dry herb vaporizer that uses conduction and not really satisfied. Watch so many videos about how pleasant the experience is but I find it cumbersome. Really have to push the combustion time to get a decent pull and the risk of combustion is high. I would guess 50% of my bowls are combusted to some extent. Just bought the Xmax V3 and hope this will lead to the more enjoyable experience I thought I would get vaping. My lungs are fine but have taken a lot of damage over the last 2 decades in accidents. They get aggravated easily and the 3 minute Dynavap cough after many sessions has lasting effects. The next morning I'm spitting out gunk for the first few hours. Anybody have experience the Xmax or similar vape?

Non-0 based on 65k income with 2 monthly international deposits
Hmm, Ok but not realistic for most that go the non-o route. Seems like your reaching to justify your logic when simply you could state I like the simplicity of keeping 800k in a bank account which has been my belief the last 14 years. Cheers

I've read the code and how you came to the conclusion that foreigner's will be taxed is a stretch. I don't understand why the 800k reduces your tax risk as you stated. In my estimation it increases it. The first year you bring in the 800k would be taxable and all your transfer throughout the year to cover living expenses. Not even close IMO.

Man in Australia pleads guilty to raping and torturing at least 39 dogs.
OK, then we agree somewhat. I personally don't see too much of a difference between politicians or research grant seekers. Some bad apples in both groups. I've met some respectable politicians and also understand the pressure they face. The people don't want them to do the right thing in many situations and the only way to get elected is do what the masses demand. For example, it is obvious that something has to be done about social security in America but doing something means the elected official would be out of a job. Most would do better at looking at themselves before beating up politicians. End of ramble...

Do you really believe they will tax transfers? I don't and from what I've read it seems nobody understands what might be implemented. The odds of the money being taxed in your home country and again in Thailand is remote IMO. Might be wrong but I try not to worry about things that seem logically insane.

No problem and we just think differently. In my world people do lie for money. Actually it is a common preoccupation for many. Wonderful people in this world but putting on blinders just reduces the chances of meeting them. This is coming from someone that has rarely been screwed over and not filled with anger.

I replied to him but I have my doubts he is a real person. Hard to imagine how someone could be so angry and ill mannered. Then again after reading the dog fetish thread yesterday, his type isn't all that hard to handle in comparison.

Non-0 based on 65k income with 2 monthly international deposits
They are with certain balances in your account. They make their money using my money for investments and trading fees. I get more money with a direct wire than using Wise but it is not the reason(tiny difference). It is convenient to just have the money sent direct and setup another transfer every month of 10k baht using Wise if needed and it won't be needed in a few years. I, like you, think Wise is a great option but not the best IMO for me.

Non-0 based on 65k income with 2 monthly international deposits
Thanks everybody and the above answers my question. I could use Wise but would rather just have the money deposited into my Bangkok Bank account because my wire transfer are free and easy. Initially I will have one pension deposit that may be short of the 65k but a few years after I will have two that will be well over the limit. Cheers - my old age plans are coming together which is miraculous considering all my financial issues the last 5 years.

Don't think so. Just what a bunch of people came up with to justify the loads of grant money they received for their research. If they stated we all evolve differently and at different stages of life, think they would get more grant money? Fear sells and a parent is an easy target. I was practically deaf until the age of 6. A couple surgeries later I had adequate hearing and was at the top of my class. Sure everybody else was deaf ???? but I did OK later in life. At minimum, I have never had desires to fornicated with a 4 legged critter.

Thanks but I was wondering if it could be done in 2 transfers. 63k and 10k for example. I have searched for hours for an answer with no luck. There has to be people that have two pensions sent to Thailand, Maybe not...

Small fridge w/o freezer brand name?
Alpicol on Lazada. Have mine for three years now running all the time and no issue. Also great for camping or Lotus trips. Set your own temp. It can be a fridge or a freezer. Uses about 260 watts a day when set to -6. Not bad. Run off 12v or 220v. https://www.lazada.co.th/tag/alpicool/?spm=a2o4m.order_list.search.d_go.5b0f61085AZ3cE&q=alpicool&catalog_redirect_tag=true

Non-0 based on 65k income with 2 monthly international deposits
Have a pension that equals 67k at todays exchange rate sent to Bangkok Bank. If the rate worsens and it is reduced to less than 65k, can I use a international wire transfer to make up the difference? E.g., pension 63k pension + 2k Wire

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?
Visa free? 2000 baht in Chong Mek which is pricey for weekend trips.

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?
Living in a big city is fun until it just becomes a routine. Having fun with beautiful women is intoxicating and the nightlife is exhilarating. It just became less fun as the years passed and became manic at times. Always chasing the next high becomes harder and harder. I was able to reach incredible highs only to be left trying to reach them again. Issan forces me to see the beaty in my surroundings without seeking the rush of a new exciting outcome that I did in big cities in Thailand. Thailand is a powerful drug and Issan is my in-country plush rehab facility that I may never leave.

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?
I get what you're saying but in most cases I have a good idea of what to expect. As for Ubon, I was wrong and I'm cool with that. Still not Eden but not a bad place to spend a week or two exploring. I like Sisaket much more and try to stay there if I have more time to kill. I love the outdoors and where I live now on the Mekhong is beautiful. Bought a Kayaak last week and slingshot to discourage all the cats and dogs from invading our home. Interesting couple years here. Just have to think outside the box to find happiness.

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?
I doubt most followed their wife and if they do, my guess is that it probably ends poorly. I lived in two cities in Issan the last 15 years and it was my idea. My situation seems to be the norm. You visit Issan with a girl and enjoy the experience and in both situations I introduced the idea of staying in Issan years after the initial visit. I completely get why most wouldn't dream of living in a small Issan town but many do. X-pats come to Thailand and settle down into a city because it is really the only option unless you speak Thai or somehow have a network in Issan. As time passes we meet women and X-pats that live in Issan and then we decide it might be a fun adventure. Nothing is permanent and easy to move out of Issan.

Do any Farangs actually choose to live in Isaan?
I was almost semi forced to stay there during Covid for a month. Escaped after 1 day to a small town on the Mekhong. Now I go into Ubon every few months for a day or two and I wonder why it was so dreadful that first visit. Wouldn't live there but it isn't the hellish place I thought. Some nice parks and good hotels on the edge of town.

Converting from tourist visa extension to a Non Imm O retirement
Thanks and that is what I thought. I will have the 12 months of transfers for my November 2024 application and have already scheduled an auto monthly wire of ~65k on the 1st of each month.

Converting from tourist visa extension to a Non Imm O retirement
Sorry for the misunderstanding - my bad. I was referring to my situation and not the OP's. I will be converting to the income method next year and if something goes wrong, was curious if I could do what the OP's friend is doing now by leaving the country and returning on a tourist visa and the changing to a Non-O. I'm in a semi unique situation because of a divorce 2018. The Ex got all three properties and a little money. I was left with enough money to make it comfortably I thought until my private retirement kicks in at 59 which is 2.5 years away. All cool after that. Hence my questions about the OP. Sorry again for the misunderstanding.

Converting from tourist visa extension to a Non Imm O retirement
At Ubon Ratchathani . I read the topic header and was thinking that this would be a perfect solution if next year I ran into any issues when converting to the 65k income method. My post was pertaining to my situation and that is where I think the misunderstanding lies.

Converting from tourist visa extension to a Non Imm O retirement
I'm sure you are both correct and I'm missing something. I know he entered on a tourist visa as I stated and now he wants to change to a Non-O as I stated. To make it simple - If I was denied an extension because of lack of seasoned funds, I could leave the country and return on a tourist visa. Apply for a change of visa and put 800k in the bank that day. I meet the requirements and I assume i would get the "new" Non O. Then in 90 days apply for an extension. I feel like a fool - what am I missing?
-
Converting from tourist visa extension to a Non Imm O retirement
I stated just that. If denied, leave the country and return for a Non-O (not an extension). I even stated that you would lose your run of consecutive extensions which may be a problem in the future. I could have been more clear but that is what I stated. Seems too easy but I probably am missing an issue that complicates the process. BTW, thanks for all informative post in regards to Non-O requirements.
