  1. I can think of more stupid things - I've probably done them!
  2. Is your passport not stamped with the overstay details?
  3. From AseanNow dated Fri 7 July 2023 Friday, 7 July 2023, 14:16"Within the next three months, the number of overstayers should be reduced to zero, as they are more likely to engage in criminal activities, which can adversely affect Thailand’s tourism industry, Pol. Lt. Gen. Pakphumpipat said." 🤣

  5. Yes, these Interpol lists seem to largely ignored by Thai Immigration. It is only when some "concerned citizen" reports some "suspicious behaviour" that they spring into action.
  6. If this guy's on "roids" he needs to change his supplier - "I've seen more fat on a greasy chip!"
  7. "..........citizens are urged to report any suspicious foreigners or tourists who might be criminals to Surat Thani Immigration to help prevent crimes and ensure safety in the province." So don't fall out with any local Thais!!!
  8. He's just being an argumentative t**t winding you up - put him your "Ignored" list - you'll feel a lot better for it!
  9. Correct! You are the Johnny that is in step, and everybody else isn't - Bye bye!
  10. "This tax will be the government ‘robbing’ from the very same support from which Thai economy gets its support" The Government seems to forget the very important role that residents/ex pats played during the Covid crisis. With tourism being NIL, many Thai small businesses were kept going by the custom of "resident farangs", and let's not forget the food parcels and "soup kitchens" arranged by farang charity organisations when help from the Thai Government was virtually NIL I vividly remember a truck parked up outside our local Macro where they were taking donations of bags of rice etc. for the poorer Thai people - and no, it wasn't an Army truck or anything connected to the Government in any way - it was a local "farang" charity organisation. I am only surprised that they weren't charged for working without a permit!
  11. Why on earth should a trial last that long? Maybe to give the accused time to wrap up their "business affairs" before skipping the country if things don't appear to be going their way?
  12. "Dogs should not even be in the house never mind on sofas and beds." In the UK, thousands if not millions of dogs are kept overnight in the house with no problems - they usually have their own beds/bean bags! Better than letting them roam the streets all night, where they would be picked up by the Police and impounded - maybe that could be part of the solution here? But that would mean the RTP having to WORK, and "owners" taking responsibility!
  13. Yes, I think he's going on my "Ignore" list - no reasoning with the wildlife freak - you just get insults back!
  14. You don't get it - you didn't answer my question so I didn't answer yours.
  15. The problem here in Thailand is that they do not treat their dogs as pets the way that they do in the West. They do not sleep in the house, are allowed to roam freely all day and night, and therein lies the problem. You get bitten by such a "free roaming pet", and "Not my dog!", but you hit it with your motor bike, and suddenly it IS their dog, and furthermore it's a Cruft's Best of Breed Champion! And even if a dog is terminally ill, vets will not put them to sleep as (a) it's against the Buddhist "religion", and (b) they make more money every time they give it an injection, more pills, more taking to and from the Animal Clinic - in short, more MONEY!!!
  16. You're not doing too bad a job of ranting and raving yourself!
  17. Yes, I agree - we do encroach on their space, but it's a long time since "family friendly Pattaya" could be described as wildlife habitat - but there again, ?????????????
  18. You haven't answered MY question! Just made a sarcastic comment with a smiley emoticon. So I will just have to assume that you are unmarried, and all YOUR friends are dogs! 😂
  19. ".........the miserable wildlife haters." I don't hate wildlife, but wildlife belongs in the wild - not on the streets!
  20. My friends and Thai wife think so - how about you? Do you have a wife and friends, or are they all the 4 legged variety? 🙂
  21. What update? I see no update? And I am merely stating my opinion, which seems to fall in line with the general consensus of opinion on here! (Not "spouting off" which is an uncalled for comment - argumentative at least) Anyway, if you are so well acquainted with the dogs, maybe you could take the tapes off, or have a word with the culprit/owner as you seem very concerned about their well being?
