    Interesting hypothesis - Not Most of the travelers we get in Thailand have not been able to travel for 2-3 years and hence going all the way. This may not be sustainable due to loss of jobs in the west from recession, high airfares, travellers burning their savings during the past 2-3 years.

    Why call him Chinese, if already domiciled! Are the major business houses including brewers not headed by such naturalized Chinese over years? a good chunk of capital city is owned by them and hailed as HiSo!

    Knowing how tight some of these airlines are, they may penalize the employees that made the error, should you decide not to pay up. most refunds are processed manually as exceptions.

    True our family of 4 has arrived BKK 3 times this year & we live here. So yes, airport tax has been paid. but not tourism count...

    When we visit banks, access is denied if we dont wear a mask. However, Malls, even movies, Grocery stores, entertainment venues are not insisting mask usage. Is this not about 'who need who'! What are your thoughts?

    Once you log on to expat.hsbc, it permits opening THB & 17 other currencies! strange they not marketing that.... Need a premier account. but US address was not a requirement until last month. dont know if that would change. Similar products are sold by BNP paribas. Wise also offers a multicurrency card account which can be used for similar purpose.

    HSBC now offers a Global money account, in 18 currencies including THB. Would this help?

    I am 50, and got a 20% hike from ACS for 2023 premium (without OPD). 2022 also got a 20% whack. never had any claims so far. I am also looking alternatives
