I was talking about being given a price of 10,000 and suddenly being told it’s 37,000. I had specs made in Cambodia at a fraction of the prices in Thailand with no loss of quality but I get mine done back home far cheaper than here.

My friend was accidentally nipped while feeding a Soi dog we know well and the tooth went into the nail cuticle. He went to the Red Cross in BKK the next day and was given immunoglobulin plus the first of 5 injections over a period of about a month. I decided to get vaccinated too because it’s just 2 injections a few weeks apart and it covers you for life. Should you get bitten it’s just a single booster shot. The Red Cross are amazing and very inexpensive.

With a work permit perhaps, try getting one if you don’t work. Personally I had no issues getting 5 different banks, but that was quite some time ago. The landscape is very different now.

These rankings are always based on expats living expat lifestyles. I don’t (well rarely) eat in western restaurants, buy imported foods or try to emulate the lifestyle I had back home.

Admins have more control than moderators. But the biggest issue I have with moderators is more to do with putting the time into the group that’s needed and which parts of the work they do. Thinking about the power thing, occasionally they just need to be reigned in a bit. It happens but it’s rare.

I won’t get into which is the best system, it’s about how you want your coffee. I love my coffee but I like it made in different ways depending what I fancy at the time so I have at least half a dozen types of coffee makers from Vietnamese drip filters to an Italian Pavoni. My pod machine is a Nespresso. I don’t use it that often and I bring my pods back when I go back home so I don’t pay Thai prices. In many countries you can recycle Nespresso pods at their stores but don’t know about here. I also have reusable pods.
