  1. The issue of a Yellow book is nothing to do with Immigration. An Amphoe will only issue a yellow book if you have long term residency, such as a one-year extension of temporary stay. Hotels and guest houses are not considered 'permanent' places of residence, and yellow books wouldn't be issued for such addresses.
  2. The point being, the OP doesn't want a 30-day extension at this point. They have planned a stay of 150 days, and a 30-day extension at this point would mean extra costs.
  3. A few years ago a friend was being given the run around by his district Amphoe, with ridiculous requests and each time he complied, they found another requirement. Eventually I took him to the Provincial Amphoe to make a complaint. The senior officer of the Provincial Amphoe stated he couldn't overrule this particular officer as he had the same level of seniority as himself. An option was to formally complain to the 'Ombudsman' who has the authority to overrule such judgements, but that could take time. He suggested that I add him to my yellow book as if he was living with me, then after 3 months return for a letter from the Provincial Amphoe to take to his district amphoe as a change of address. Already being in a yellow book, his district office would merely be issuing a new yellow book as a change of address. That's exactly what we did and 3 months later he obtained a new yellow book from his district Amphoe detailing his new address (which was actually where he always resided). There always appears to be more than one way to skin a cat in Thailand.
  4. Civil Registration Act under which foreign registers his address and applies for a (yellow) house book and ID card. Civilian Registration Act (2008) ENG.pdf Civilian Registration Act (2008) THAI.pdf The relevant sections under the amended 2008 regulation are ; “Section 36. The district or local registrar shall issue a household registration for every house of both persons with Thai nationality and without Thai nationality having a domicile within the Thai Kingdom.” Section 21. Section 38 of the Civil Registration Act B.E. 2534 shall be repealed and replaced by the following: “Section 38. The district or local registrar shall issue a household registration for persons without Thai nationality having been permitted to stay temporarily and those having been giving leniency for temporary residence in the Thai Kingdom as a special case in accordance with law on immigration and the declaration of the Cabinet and their children born within the Thai Kingdom. In a case of permission of temporary residence overdue, the registrar shall immediately dispose of such persons. The Director of Central Registration shall make profile registration for persons without Thai nationality besides those under paragraph one in accordance with the declaration of the Cabinet. Registrations under paragraph one and two shall lie in the manner prescribed in the regulations under the discretion of the Director of Central Registration.”
  5. In that case the Immigration Act makes it clear it's the hotels' responsibility. The OP is staying in Airbnb, which is a private residence, not a hotel or guest house. She could register and file a TM30 online as the 'foreigner', but would require copies of the owner's Tabien Baan and ID card to do so.
  6. That's a typical response from an Amphoe that doesn't know the procedure, and/or unwilling to comply. There are no such requirements in the Civil registration act to be married, own property etc. The short form UK birth certificate does not state parents, but then the long form, which states parents, has been rejected because the header states 'Certified copy of an entry of birth' and they request the original, not a copy. 🤔 In that situation where they request a birth certificate with parents names, have a copy of the long form birth certificate 'certified' by your Embassy, translated to Thai, then have both legalised by the MFA, as with the other documents. Also try the Provincial Amphoe, who are more experienced and knowledgeable than the sub-district amphoe offices.
  7. That could be an exception to the general rule, as you still have a valid multiple entry visa. The majority of long stay folk, have expired Non O visa's and just extend their permits of stay one year at a time.
  8. Current requirements at almost all Amphoes. Documents for Tabien Baan.odt
  9. No. Already answered. Personally, I'd apply for the Non Imm O, then a 60 day extension. Note that would allow a total stay of 150 days, not exactly 5 months, so book a return flight accordingly. The day of entry counts as day 1 of your stay.
  10. You are correct. The validity of the visa is the period during which you can enter Thailand. Entering on June 1st, you will be granted a stay of 60 days, which can be extended for a further 30 days.
  11. Sent documents to the UK last week via Thai post, International track and sign. Received 5 days later. A lot cheaper than DHL who refused to collect and informed I had to drop the letter off at their nearest depot, 120 Km away.
  12. You can have less than 6 months validity left on your passport, but your extension (a permit, not a visa) will only be granted up to the expiry date of the passport. After obtaining a new passport, have the stamps transferred, then apply for a further 1 year extension before your last extension expiry date.
  13. All recently changed. The multi entry Non Imm O visa from Savannahket now requires 400K THB in a Thai bank account for 2 months for the application. The single entry Non Imm O is still available without any proof of finances. You can only apply for a 60-day extension in Country to visit Thai spouse - no financials. The wife must attend with you.
  14. Your fortunate then. Many Airbnb owners live overseas and have a caretaker.
  15. You won't lose anything. Immigration will correct the stamp, it happens all the time. Just get that TM30 sorted out before you visit the Immigration office. Even those of us that reside here permanently have to file a TM30. Immigration track the residences of all foreigners.
  16. @miaclarkson03, you are aware that you can extend that 60 day permission of stay by a further 30 days at an Immigration office (once you get your stamp corrected) A land border run and re-entry will grant you a further stay of 30 days, which can be extended by a further 30 days at Immigration. A second land border run and re-entry will grant you a further stay of 30 days, which can be extended by a further 30 days at Immigration. A maximum of 2 land border crossing per calendar year are permitted. An extension at Immigration cost 1,900 baht.
  17. Your proof of online booking counts for nothing. When filing a TM30 Immigration will require a copy of the owner's house book (Tabien Baan) which identifies the address and a copy of the owner's ID card, (that is if the owners are Thai) and a copy of your passport ID page. Most 'tourists' stay less than 30 days and never have need to visit an Immigration office, so the non filing of a TM30 doesn't really affect them. As you have a date to correct on your entry stamp, and if it's your intention to stay 150 days, at some point you'll need to apply for at least one 30 day extensions at an Immigration office, then you need to be aware of only staying at a residence that complies with the law and files a TM30. You can request a copy of that filing, and that's the proof Immigration will require when applying for any kind of service.
  18. Read my above post section 38 and section 4. An Airbnb is not a hotel or guest house, it's a private residence being rented out. That makes you as the tenant just as responsible as the landlord to file a TM30. TM30-Notification of alien residence.pdf
  19. Hopefully they can give you a copy then. This is a law you need to be aware of if you intend to move to different parts of Thailand and visit Immigration offices to apply for 30 day extensions.
  20. Without a notification of where you're residing, Immigration may refuse any kind of service. As the tenant of the residence, they could also hit you with the fine for not complying.
  21. Yes, but don't be surprised if they state not our problem.
  22. Section 38 of the Immigration Act. Section 38 : The house – master , the owner or the possessor of the residence , or the hotel manager where the alien , receiving permission to stay temporary in the Kingdom has stayed , must notify the competent official of the Immigration Office located in the same area with that hours , dwelling place or hotel, within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the alien concerned. Section 4 defines the housemaster as; “ House Master ” means any persons who is the chief possessor of a house , whether in the capacity of owner , tenant , or in any other capacity whatsoever , in accordance with the law on people act.
  23. It's a notification to Immigration of a foreigner's residence. It's the duty of hotel and guest house managers to file the report. Airbnb are agents, and not their responsibility, unless the owners have left them copies of their ID and house documents.
  24. This happens more frequently than reported on this forum. Any Immigration office should correct the date on the permission of stay stamp, provided you've filed a TM30 (Notification of an aliens residence) You can apply for a 30-day extension for each 30 day visa exempt entry from a border run. 2 land border runs with extensions will get you 120 days.
