  1. Up until 2018, when I changed the reason of my extension applications to that of being married and having a Thai spouse, previous extension stamps based on retirement, specifically stated 'RETIREMENT' in bold English, not Thai.
  2. You can't change the entry type, but you can change the status of the type of entry, to be more concise.
  3. My initial Non Imm O visa, issued by the Liverpool Consulate, categorically states at the bottom, in capitals, 'EMPLOYMENT PROHIBITED'.
  4. No, it's an extension of your period of stay, initially granted at entry and is a permit, not a visa. You must have Non Immigrant status to apply for a 1-year extension of stay. This is achieved by either applying for an initial Non Imm type visa, from a Thai Embassy/Consulate, with which to enter Thailand, or by changing your status at local Immigration from entry under the status of tourist, to Non Imm status.
  5. A previous question I asked was evaded by the OP. Did he marry in the UK or Thailand? That could provide a clue to his issues.
  6. What was she doing at the Amphur for an official to suggest such. Any name on her land title deeds are nothing to do with the Amphur, that's a matter for the Land Registry office. Assuming you married in Thailand, you would have both received a marriage certificate (Kor Ror 3) and a marriage registration certificate (Kor Ror 2). Both of these documents will state her maiden name. If she then chose to take your surname, an additional procedure after marriage, she would have been issued an official name change certificate, for which she can then apply for a new ID card and change her name in her Tabien Baan. You then take those documents to the Land Registry office, where they will note the change of surname on the Title deeds. That is exactly what my Thai wife did. It sounds as though your wife didn't complete the procedures for change of surname on all documentation, hence she ran into a problem. If it was indeed a grumpy individual at an Amphur office that gave her advice, it was incorrect. He should have advised her to take her ID card, Tabien Baan and certificate of name change to the Land Registry office, to register her change of surname on the Title Deeds. RE, your Visa woes; You could have applied for the Non O visa to visit Thai spouse. Her (maiden) surname on the marriage certificate would also match her ID if she changed her name back. If her surname on her ID is different to that on the marriage certificate, then you submit the certificate of change of name, which identifies her original maiden name and her new surname. You could alternatively enter VE (visa exempt), which grants 30 days on entry, which can be extended for a further 30 days on the basis of tourism, then a further 60 days to visit Thai spouse. A further option is to enter VE, then apply for a change in status to Non Immigrant (O) at your local Immigration office. You stated you had 320,000 Baht in a Thai bank account. The financial requirement is 400,000 Baht, just transfer another 80,000 Baht to your Thai bank account. You then also qualify to apply for a 1-year extension of stay, with 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank account.
  7. Financial requirement for the METV. 5. Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, sponsorship letter (current balance not less than 200,000 THB for the past 6 months). - Your recent official UK/Ireland bank statement shows your name, address, and a minimum closing balance of £5,000 (Do not send the screenshot) , proof of earnings (payslips) or sponsorship letter from your sponsor with official ID and their Bank Statements. https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/tourist-multiple-entries-visa
  8. That would be Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Address: 443 Thanon Si Ayutthaya, Thung Phaya Thai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok 10400 Phone: 02 203 5000
  9. If the name on the visa doesn't match the one in your passport, then you won't even be permitted to board. Didn't you print out your application as proof of the information you submitted? Both you and another member have already submitted spelling mistakes in your posts (wright - right)
  10. Non Immigrant Non O multiple entry Visa. Can be issued on the basis of retirement (+50) or Thai family/wife. Valid to enter Thailand for 12 months from the date of issue. Allows multiple entries of 90 days during the validity of the visa. The permit of stay can be extended one time on each entry for a further 60 days, for visiting Thai family/wife during the validity of the visa. You can stay for almost 15 months from a Non Imm O ME visa based on retirement, or 17 months with an additional 60 day extension based on Thai family/wife.
  11. Each new 90 day entry from a Non Imm O ME can be extended for a further 60 days to visit a Thai spouse.
  12. As I'm understanding the OP's position, he originally had a Non Imm O ME visa that allowed him to stay for 15 months. He attempted to then apply for a 60-day extension to visit Thai spouse, but didn't have proof of marriage documents. An agent told him 60 day extensions were only possible during Covid, which is totally incorrect. The OP has now done a border run and entered VE, giving him a 30-day stay. @Davef2912 correct me if my interpretation of your situation is incorrect. To confirm @BritTim correct information, you can apply for a further 30 day extension under clause 2.4 of Immigration Bureau order 327/2557 as you entered VE and therefore classed as a tourist, but can additionally apply for a further 60 day extension to visit a Thai spouse under clause 2.24 of the same order. However, for the 60-day extension you must provide proof of being married to a Thai, and your wife must attend for that extension application. I don't know how long you intend staying in Thailand, but if you can't meet the financial requirements to apply for a 1-year extension of stay based on Thai spouse, perhaps you should consider a further Non Imm O ME visa. You can stay for almost 17 months on this visa type with only 3 border runs and 3 x 60 day extensions.
  13. That should read 12 monthly overseas transfers of 40K THB
  14. Up to 45 days in advance or on the last day of your current permit of stay. To be clear, a visa cannot be extended, you'll be applying to extend your original 90-day period of stay from entry of the Non O visa. That visa was 'used' the day you entered Thailand. Applying based on Thai spouse, using the income method, you require evidence of 12 overseas transfers of 40K THB to your Thai bank account, alternatively 400K THB deposited in your Thai bank account for 2 months prior to the date of application.
  15. I stand corrected, although only the single entry is listed on their website.
  16. You should have registered as the 'possessor' in the drop-down box and uploaded copies of your passport ID page and the landlords Tabien Baan and ID card.
  17. You should have registered as the 'possessor' in the drop-down box and uploaded copies of your passport ID page and the landlords Tabien Baan and ID card.
  18. UK only offer the single entry Non O. Savannahket, Lao, as mentioned above with proof of the equivalent of 800,000 THB on deposit with any bank.
  19. Extensions based on Thai spouse have to be approved at regional level. Have you checked your passport, my guess is you were given an 'under consideration' stamp.
  20. Official Immigration procedure > VE-TV to Non O Retirement.pdf TM87 form > TM-87-Application for Visa from Visa Exempt.pdf Checklist > Docs VE to Non Imm O.odt You will need to submit two identical sets of documents. 1 set Roi Et retain, the other set is sent to the regional office for approval.
  21. I concur. Once your Non O stamp is issued, then apply for a new passport immediately. You can apply for the 1-year extension of stay up to 45 days in advance at Roi Et.
  22. Applying for the Non O from a VE entry is not a problem at Roi Et Immigration. You need at least 15 days permission of stay remaining from your 30 day VE entry, or again you can apply for a 30-day extension if you require more time. Will you be applying for the Non O based on 'retirement' or 'Thai spouse'? I can supply a list of documents you'll require for either reason.
