  1. The tunnel might have been a good idea had it started near the Highway 36 intersection and continued past Makro so that all the through traffic could use it leaving Sukhumwit free for those travelling within town.

    Alan

Wow that would be a good idea except I fear it would take 20-30 years to complete and they would surely use the same construction technique

resulting in Sukhumvit becoming 1 lane each way for the whole length (Kilometers and time ) of construction......... back to the future.

  2. On Sunday 20th at 12 midday ( only an hour after opening) I had to go to the 6th floor of the Central Pattaya the Beach parking lot

to find a space, and there weren't many left... we left about 3PM and every floor was still full and also had cars and trucks "double parked"

took a good 30 minutes to get out of the car park

In the Mall the food court in the basement was packed and restaurants on 5th and 6th floors where busy

the expensive brand name shops where ( as seems normal for them ) totally devoid of customers !

  3. They should not have repainted the zebra crossing. It only gives people a false sense of security....its extremely dangerous to use them even if one lane of cars stop its guaranteed that the other 2 or 3 lanes will just hurtle on regardless. You also have the fact that too many drivers are tailgating so its dangerous even for vehicles to stop....best to get rid of the false security....there is a set of traffic lights there but they have never worked/been turned on

Best thing and as sometimes happens get the police out of the box only a few meters away onto full time traffic duty they do succeed in stopping traffic for pedestrians to cross safely (nice traffic jams too ! ! )

  4. Instead of riding your bike today, why not take a few packages of noodles to one of the over 100 Lese Majeste

prisoners being detained throughout Thailand in various prisons, instead of promoting and glorifying the image

of the one's who have allowed them to put be put there under closed courts to the public and very little evidence

shown as to what exactly was presented in each court case.

Just in 2015 over $540 million, more than the entire budget for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was spent on a promotional campaign called “Worship, protect and uphold the monarchy.”

I would like you post but fear being arrested for doing so ! ! !

  5. Forgot to add that one way to tell if you're looking at a digital signal is that instead of being numbered most/all channels will be automatically named.

Also the picture will be very clear with no grainynes or ghosting , when there is a signal problem the picture will freeze and glitch go blocky then disappear completely there is very little transition from perfect picture to no picture where as with analog you can continue to watch as the picture descends into a snow storm.

  6. My wife got the AJ box for free by using the government Digital TV voucher scheme, without voucher selling now for about 1200 baht if you go look in Tesco or BigC they have a couple of brands that sell for 690 baht (value of the voucher )

The reason Thai Tv's have only very recently started to be sold with digital tuners is because they hadn't decided which DVB standard to use...no point / costs more having a universal multi standard tuner.
