  1. Please may I have my thread back!

    wink.png

    My question was:

I am licenced for a car and a motorcycle in the UK.

If I take the Thai multi-choice test, eyesight and reflex tests, will my new licence include car and motorcycle categories?

    Informed comments welcomed.

    It seems that:

    • Both licences are separate, i.e. they are not just categories on the same piece of paper/plastic.

    • I can apply for both licences in one visit, taking the same tests (where necessary)

      and

    • I will need two complete sets of application forms and supporting documents

Are there any more opinions out there?

You wont ( shouldn't ) have to do the multi-choice theory test, just the reaction and eyesight tests.

if you clearly show them your car and bike entitlements ( the pictograms ) on your UK licence they will ( should ) give you one credit card sized plastic licence with your photo on it enabling you to drive a car and another separate licence much like the car one but just for the bike.

2 separate licences 2 separate sets of documents if you apply for both at the same time ( mostly ) they will except 1 original set and 1 copy.

As with lots of things here when dealing with "officials" sometimes they like to make things a "challenge" with the paperwork requirements.

  2. since when, I changed my UK paper licence for a Thai licence in Khon Kaen without any problem

    Well lucky for you.

Others have said the paper licence was not excepted as it didn't have a photo of the owner

and they had to do the full theory and practical test.

once again it depends on various things as to whether a certain office at a certain time will accept or not your documents

or just send you away to get some other never mentioned before document ( just to get rid of you )

  3. .

So hopefully time is running out for Mr Reeks .

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high...

I have now waited for my Dreamcard for nearly 4 month from ********

and I am so tired of the situation. He will not answer e-mail´s, so

maybe someone knows what is happening out there in Thailand. Does

anyone have the new adress to the discussion-boards, I will be glad to

have it, so I can follow if there are any news. Do you think we will

get the cards or are my money lost.

  4. roadworks and they were both speeding, one would expect lights to warn drivers of roadworks but they stopped using them in Thailand as many were stolen by people, was very surprised when I was informed of this by my wife. Usually safety lights are mandatory at road works but thefts have stopped this here, the fact that many roads do not have lights of a night doesnt help either but in this case you can bet speed/alcohol played a major part as well.

They recently resurfaced the main Sukhumvit road near to where I live, the street lights where deliberately turned off

on the stretch of unsurfaced rutted road ! also no warning signs

( maybe they think the lack of lights is the warning to slow down ? )

There where a few motorbike accidents due to hitting the ruts at speed.

  5. Many of the photo processing shops ( Kodak ) can make DVDs for you

also some of the dwindling internet cafes can do it, I've even seen some mobile phone shops advertise the service.

In Pattaya South Pattaya road there is a whole building dedicated to IT called TukCom there is bound to be a shop there that can do it.

  6. If you have a UK Car licence you can NO LONGER get a Thai licence, you have to do the entire thing! Computer, colour and the actual driving. The law changed a year or two ago, the only way you might swing that one is if you have an international licence

Really are you sure about that ? and why only for UK car licence ?

anyone else holding a UK licence ( photo card licence not the old paper one ) had to do the whole kaboodle ?

  7. Maybe they need to set up some big screens in the middle of the roundabout and play that video on a 24 hour loop

the screens would be broken or stolen in a few months but at least some drivers might have grasped the theory by then rolleyes.gif

  8. Everyone jumping to conclusions as per usual.....

He should have been taken directly to the hospital..... Simple.

he got in a fight in a bar , he was fleeing on his bike however being intoxicated he hit a noodle vendor.

he should be taken directly to police station and cleaned up in the bathroom then processed.

The Sun reports ( yes I know the Sun )

Paul's other brother James Hagan today revealed Paul had suffered numerous injuries including a fractured skull.

On his public Facebook page he wrote: "Spoke to Paul just there. He has fractured skull, eye socket, broken jaw and fractured shoulder.

I think with those injuries he should go to hospital not the police station bathroom !!!

  9. Important Waterfront Update

We are writing to address some recent false reporting in the press and social media, and provide you with a full update on the current situation.

13th February 2016 was the deadline date for Pattaya City Hall to issue the construction permit, or to provide any further final comments.

Being that this was a Saturday we received an official letter from Pattaya City Hall on Tuesday 16th February. In this letter they have requested clarification on just two points.

A calculation from us to show the usable space, non-useable and saleable area within the building.

A presentation on how the automatic car parking will work.

We have fully completed a detailed analysis and breakdown on the space of the building and a full presentation on the car parking set up, and this was submitted to Pattaya City Hall as of Friday 19th February 2016.

Both issues that Pattaya City Hall had raised were simple enough for us to answer and we believe they are legal under the Building Act.

Our understanding is that Pattaya City Hall, have just one final 30 day period to review our submission to these points and either issue the permit or refuse, we are not aware of any reason that they can or will ask for any other information from us.

We will update you again in 30 days.

    Sincere thanks for your patience.

  10. Careful you'll upset the property developers !!! ( just because no lights on doesn't mean not sold )

Remember 80-90 percent of those condos where sold to savy inverters ( flippers) before they even finished building

according to their advertising bumf act quickly last few left etc etc.

Thank the gods that most of them are unoccupied I'm sure the electric, water, sewage and traffic networks would be under immense strain if not.

  11. The drought started not long after the USA Inc wanted to "study" the weather the skies began being sprayed with aerosols. Now the skies are covered in some kind of chemical haze and it doesn't seem to rain. How about stopped the aerosol spreading and see if weather patterns return tonormal?l Who wants to breathe that $hit anyway?

So you believe that el-nino is caused by the USA spraying aerosols..... aka chem trails ? crazy.gif

    Where's my tinfoil hat gone.

  12. Well it seems that they are really only just starting the "tunnelling" up to now it seems they just made a roof

now they have a JCB digging away.
