You can retire in Thailand using the marriage extension. This method only requires you to have 400,000 baht deposited. OR,  40,000 baht monthly income.

I would say the OP should keep the "retirement" option: if the Baht get stronger or the AUS$ weaker,  bigger problem will be: there is no combination of income and bank deposit for the "marriage extension".

Earnings from Internet could be a problem. Not necessarily.
You would need to declare the earnings and then they'd want a work permit and expect you to pay tax on that income.

No work allowed if you have a "Retirement extension" then I would avoid to declare it!

So if you work on internet, keep it secret and use that income to fill the bank deposit needed for your extension...

  2. When I am in bed, before I sleep I play Solitaire or Sudoku on tablet (15-20 minutes) and I fall asleep 2 minutes after I turn off the tablet.

It avoids me think about my environment, about negative facts which could make me stress.

I don't drink alcoholic beverages nor take any medication and I sleep very well about 6-7 hours/night.

Hope it can help you too...

One would think they'd develop the new website before taking down the old one...

As far as I remember, they hurried to close the website to avoid hackers who said they would hack all official sites (what they did for some of them)...

  4. In Senegal, after bad experience with 2 maids who didn't come back after getting their salary (2 weeks salary), I found a new one who accepted to be paid weekly but with one week delay. Like that, if she didn't come back when she got money, she lost one week salary.
I used to give her some extra money for extra work and for New Year.

I always denied an advance on salary...

She stayed at my service almost 3 years.

It was in Lyon. Second and only choice is the embassy in Paris, but it seems like the directives flow down from Paris to Lyon so I would expect the same answer.

The Embassy in Paris is more exigent than Lyon or Marseille. A few years ago my visa was denied in Paris (same reason as you: "not enough time between 2 trips") but I got it in Lyon...

What makes you think the dead man was Thai?

What makes you think that the woman was Thai?

What makes you think that the staff member was Thai?

Sounds like just another day on Thaivia to me.

If it was a Farang then it would have been a suicide

If it was a Farang woman then she would have taken the towel

If the staff member was a Farang he would already be deported because no work permit...

Finally some reactions.... maybe this will teach the most stubborn guys among us, to try to learn, even if we are old, there is still time to learn a bit, inbetween whatever you guys are doing...

A VISA is a VISA and an extenstion of stay is an Extension of stay..... How hard can it be to learn that?

for customers with good repayment record and has not defaulted on payments for 12 consecutive months, the bank will be making a 30% refund on their total interests.

Nice present it will help a lot of people.

But the ones with defaulted payment will need a help too. If they couldn't pay back it's maybe because they have to choose between feed the children or pay back to the bank!
