There is a complaints procedure actually which goes to the division head. Me and my wife were massively mistreated about a simple TM30 a few years back. We were contacted about what happened and now receive very good service at our local office. Said officer is nowhere to be found nowadays.
Your experience shows that sometimes, perhaps not always, standing one's ground earns oneself respect from the government agency concerned. Thank you for sharing it.

There is a TDAC database.
The immigration officials at the entry points have access to this database.
The immigration officials at the provincial immigration offices don't seem to have access to this database.
The immigration officials in both places are part of the Immigration Bureau, which is part of the Royal Thai Police, which is part of the Ministry of the Interior.

I am moving this topic from thr Visa Forum to the Teaching in Thailand Forum, where you will probably more likely get replies.
-
On a foreigner's arrival in Thailand, the immigration official scans the passport and sees the TDAC information on his screen. The officials at the local immigration offices should be allowed to access to this database, instead of having to ask applicants for a extension of stay to bring a printed copy.

Just to make sure I understand correctly - are you referring to a scenario where someone no longer meets the reason their DTV was granted (for example, they stop working remotely or pause their Muay Thai training), and whether they’d still be allowed entry? Or are you referring to concerns around policy changes that could affect the DTV program itself in the future?
Happy to clarify either way!
I'm referring to a scenario where someone no longer meets the reason for which their DTV was granted (for example, they stop working remotely or pause their Muay Thai training), and whether they’d still be allowed entry.

I've split a post about avoiding denial of entry and the replies to it into a separate topic, as it would have been off-topic here.

Although I am not a victim of the UK pension freeze because I live in Switzerland, I applaud the initiators of this project and wish them success in getting this unfair situation corrected.
I would gladly give my personal support but not being a UK national, I cannot register for voting.

NZ$800??? That's crazy! Why?
I'm not quite sure how to explain this to you and I'd be grateful if you helped me by answering the following questions:
1. How much does the single-entry Thai visa for the purpose of travelling to Thailand for the reason of retirement cost in your home country?
2. How much is the equivalent of that price in Thai Baht?

From what I understand, we should both apply for Non-O visas from NZ. The cost is NZD 800 (THB 15,640) each which is pricey...
After the implementation of the eVisa also in New Zealand, do the extraordinary high prices for the Thai visas issued in that country still exist?
-
Could the following be another mistake?
Believing that immigration will continue to grant entry with the visa even when the reason for which it was issued no longer exists.

...Why not apply for a DVT for muay thai or medical reasons? It isn't much more money
I see no indication in the OP's posts to suggest the that a DTV would suit him and his partner, ie that they need multiple entries for the next five years with stays of up to 180 days for the reason of either Muay Thai training or medical treatment.

If Immigration want to send someone to check whether you live at a given address, the least they could do is then to write-up a report confirming you live there. Such a report could serve as proof-of-address for banks abroad etc.
It would not be a "report confirming you live there"
It would be a report confirming that you lived (past tense) there on the date of the visit.

I have seen it mentioned on this forum that the TDAC may be an experiment, a test run for something that may or may not come, for example the collection of the tourist tax.

Only in some pronunciation guides for English speakers and in some lowly educated persons' own transcription of their name. Look at the name written in Thai and you will see no r (ร). Listen to the name being pronounced and you hear no r.

…One agent (not FTV) told us that we have been flagged in the immigration system under sections 2, 3, and 9 — but they didn’t explain what those mean, saying it’s “only for immigration use,” so we honestly have no idea what that implies…
The mention of "sections 2, 3, and 9" apparently is a reference Section 12 of the Immigration Act:
QuoteSection 12. Aliens falling into any of the following categories are excluded
from entering the Kingdom —…
(2) Having no appropriate means of living on entering the Kingdom;
(3) Entering the Kingdom to earn livelihood as a labourer or to be hired to do physical work and not skilled, or technical work, or to do other works in violation of alien working laws;…
(9) Having no money or bond as prescribed by the Minister’s publication
under Section 14;…
Section 14. The Minister shall have power to publish in the Government
Gazette requiring the aliens entering the Kingdom to have with them either money or bond, or shall have power to make exemption under any conditions.…

I found some other parcel tracker, and one gave me a bit more info that's its with Universal Postal Union.
I found the reference to the Universal Postal Union interesting and intriguing (because I learnt about it in college). From Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_Postal_Union)
QuoteThe Universal Postal Union (UPU, French: Union postale universelle) is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN) that coordinates postal policies among member nations and facilitates a uniform worldwide postal system. It has 192 member states and is headquartered in Bern, Switzerland.
Some mail tracking services leverage the reputation of the UPU to offer their services:
https://www.4tracking.net/en/carriers/upu
https://www.ship24.com/couriers/upu-tracking
I doubt, though, that the UPU is directly involved with these companies, except that the tracking numbering system appears to be the result of a cooperative effort among UPU member countries, so that an item has the same tracking number on its entire journey, which is a good thing.
