    Where?

    Very unsual.

Do you send by EMS? (if so, has it been received)

In the past I did postal mail and send by EMS and insert a return envelope also franked for EMS.

As far as I know you can get a sticker (not stamps) for the return envelope at the post office.

Wouldn't registered mail be cheaper but the postal receipt you get for it serve equally well as proof of mailing?

  2. The check-in staff of airlines that are members of IATA generally use the IATA Travel Centre to look up the  requirements, using an automated process. It is free to use for everyone.

It is up to the check-in staff, probably based on instructions and guidelines issued by the airlines, how strictly to apply these requirements. This is why the traveller in front of me in the queue without a visa may be asked for an onward ticket and I, in the same situation, may not be a asked for it.

P.S. I did not select red for the last paragraph; it just happened. In fact, on the phone I wouldn't be able to change the colour even if I wanted to.

Doesn't it depend on which IO you use as they all seem to interpret the law differently .

In the visa forum, the acronym IO is variously used to mean "immigration office" or "immigration official"

In the context of this topic, which is about documents to be shown to the immigration official upon arrival at the airport, it can only mean "immigration official"

Every once in a while, I see a post recommending to line up at an immigration counter with a male official with the suggestion that female officials are more likely to ask probing questions or request documents like an accommodation reservation. I have seen no statistical evidence, though, to lend credence to this but it may well be the personal experience of the respective posters.

Well I could be buggered re self-registration or, indeed, any TM30 registration if, as I suspect, there is no blue house book for the property... If anyone has any good ideas about what to do about TM30 registration in that case please do say...

If there is no blue house registration book then the building has probably not yet been certified as fit for human habitation.

    • A Swiss expatriate in Phuket is accused of violently hitting a Thai woman in the back.
    • This is not true, the accused Swiss man tells 20 Minuten - a video is supposed to prove his innocence. Here you can see the video.
    • There is now a veritable smear campaign against him. "I'm going through hell," he says.

We were married years ago at the Australian embassy.

One time a lovely lady said marriage certificate is old, 'well yes' but could be fake, 'well no', go to the embassy and get it authenticated.

    Cue: exploding wifey.

Are you saying that you applied at your local, unnamed immigration office for an extension of stay with your marriage certificate issued by the Australian embassy in Thailand?
