  1. Initially shy, most beautiful with long dark hair, fit, stylish; but beware of love bombing and gas lighting!  Both being psychological terms.

Many women today worldwide, are forced to be better dealers from financial responsibilities.

Buyer beware and ask questions like if they have any friends left, and how they get along with family members.

If they discarded all their friends and family, perhaps their own children, your next!

  2. I recommend you open a separate savings account and fund it with over 800,000 and make no withdrawals.

Keep in mind, with the worldwide financial retreat, falling currency prices in many countries,  the threat of hyperinflation is real and I believe they will one day have to increase the 800,000 required sum.

As bad luck would have it, the increase limit requirement could take place in the middle of the 3 month seasoning period.

    • If it can happen, it generally will happen. :shock1:
  3. You will have an uphill battle finding work here.

You might consider going to Cambodia as work visas are easier to obtain.

Better to start your own small business with money from one investor.

    Good luck.

  4. Double the first quote if your landlord doubled the price from what he is charged.

Double that price when electric prices increase with the coming inflation and hotties jumping up and down on you for extended periods!

And, the price will increase when it gets hot as Hell as you lower the temperature...

    Welcome to Paradise!

Go with the flow and don't worry.  :partytime2:

  5. There have been many job losses in the last year countrywide, combined with less cash receivables for the young ladies in Bangkok and Pattaya.  With the financial retreat, less foreigners are sending money to their lady friends like they did in the past.

It's a aging population and women pushing 40, for the most part get turned down for most jobs because of their age.  Many are forced to start their own small businesses.

  6. I hate that nonsense....

I leave the country or stay home every year.

I almost lost my eye sight in one eye from an idiot with a water blaster.

I feel sorry for tourists who come here after spending thousands of dollars and are shocked to learn they have to spend several days or more in a swim suit and t shirt.

I wonder how many thousands, even perhaps millions of dollars of damage to cell phones, cameras, laptops and personal property there are damaged by water countrywide during the madness.

  7. I recommend you find a competent, licensed, Thai Lawyer who specializes in what you are asking.  You probably should consult with a competent, licensed U.S. Lawyer who  specializes in what you're asking and has international experience.

Personally, if I had major health issues and had love ones and trusted them, I would transfer everything to them before I passed on.  It's risky with foreign women, but if I had a long term relationship with her/them, and they were honest, I would do it.

I don't recommend that for everyone.

What you are asking can be a very slippery slope and there may be no good answer.

    Best to get several opinions.

  8. I recommend you go to the Immigration Web site Q&A and make a check list.

The rules change and some offices and officers have different opinions.

The first time you might go to Immigration with your check list in advance and confirm everything with an Officer.  Write down his name for future reference.

Understand the bank money is preferred in a savings account and has to be seasoned the first time for two months prior to the application date and for 3 months the following year.

Don't close any bank savings accounts as I'm told by two banks that if I close the account they will not open a new one without a work visa.  And, I've been a customer for 11 years!

Also, you are now restricted by some banks from wiring money out of the country without a work visa, if you can't show that the money was wired in!

Always, bring your passport to the bank now if you are completing paperwork and even at the post office to mail a letter!  Ugg..

What I have noticed and it's strange is that when it's busy my hip seems to hurt more than usual and makes my limp very obvious. When it's noticed I get sent to the priority lane. It stays really bad until I get to the car and then it seems to ease quite a lot. Amazing, isn't it.!!!

A bone scan of your hip area  and pelvic area  is recommended.  They may have degenerated and are near the breaking point from lack of calcium.

  10. Some things in Paradise never change!

Get use to it or make a change.

With all the problems in the world this annoyance seems silly to me.

I've been hearing this for the last 11 years and just accepted  it.

When I lived in Costa Rica for 10 years I accepted being called a gringo.

Even when living in the United States, I accepted the fact that in some areas I was called a cracker.

    Go with the flow.....

  11. What home country are you from and confirm what country the funds came from?

If you are a U.S. Citizen you are required to file an on-line FBAR report before June of each year listing all foreign banks and the max sum for that year.

You must go on line and review the requirements as they may change.

If you ignore that you can be fined big money and more!

If you deposit funds in a Thai bank account the tax will be deducted when you make a withdrawal.

  12. Not always...

    Depends on the doctor!

I went in for a full physical there and told the doctor I wanted the package discount and even asked the nurse for the brochure.  I handed it to the doctor and pointed to the price.

The doctor intentionally over charged me for each item listing them individually.

I filed a fraud complaint with their Adminisration Office.

They conducted a two week investigation and sent me a credit for all charges and a  apology.

In the end they did the honorable thing.

As I recall, I heard the doctor was fired.  He probably was charged for my all charges!

           No  problem ,

if uninvited  guests turn  up  for a freebie ,

be  welcoming and polite ,  while they are munching  away

slip to the john ,  and do a runner .

The Police will check security cameras, you will be identified and possibly arrested.  If you leave Thailand, and try to re-enter, you might get arrested.  It has happened before.  Bad advice.

  14. Expect crime to accelerate from massive loss of small mom and pop Soi businesses throughout all of Thailand.

Most women over 40, can't get jobs because of their age and cook or sell fruit along the Sois.  With little to no money what can they do?

The cheap food in the Sois will disappear and the food in rented spaces will no doubt cost more.

Many Thais and foreign laborers can only afford the inexpensive Thai Soi cooking.

I hope demonstrations don't start with violence to follow like in Europe, the U.S. and other countries.

This news makes me very sad...

There is no requirement to go to the office where you got your extension to have your stamps transferred (visas are not transferred) as far as I know. Perhaps a call to 1111 or 1178 is needed.

The worst case scenario would be if Udon refused to do it because you no longer live there.

There may be no requirement, but the same run around happened to me two years ago.

  16. Very safe providing you follow banks Internet warnings and check bank's URL, login address each time.  Be very careful with public with-Fi.

Update virus protection on windows daily and get a good virus application on your Abdroid device.

Better to do Internet banking at home and have your own router plugged in.
